“Most relaxing holiday ever”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2013

My partner decided to treat us to a week away with a little bit of luxury and this place seemed to fit the bill.

Check in was handled in a friendly and efficient manner so things got off to a good start. We couldnt believe our luck when we got to our ground floor room, our patio doors opened up onto a small patio with a table, two chairs, two sunbeds and then steps right into the pool. The studio was kitted out to a high standard and had really comfortable beds and pillows. The air conditioning whilst not up to American standards certainly made the room comfortable in the 30c+ heat. My only Complaint about the room overall would be that the shower door did leak quite badly if you werent careful.

We had initally booked self catering but decided to upgrade to all inclusive as the food and drink was of such high quality. This worked out at £401 for 2 adults for 6 days. Another bonus was after checking out at midday we could still make full use of the all inclusive facilities, handy as our pick up wasnt untill 5.00 This was a pleasent change as I have been to some all inclusives where the cut your wristband off when checking out.
As I have said the food and drinks were of high quality, Im something of a plain eater and there was always at least two or three things on offer that I liked. Drinks from the bar, restaraunt or prime market (pool bar) were excellent.

The main complaint here on trip advisor seems to be the evening entertainment which was mainly varying duos playing cheesy listening music. Personally Im not a fan of this sort of thing but it suited the relaxing nature of the hotel, we even got a bit of a giggle as the evenings wore on and a few brave (drunk) souls made it onto the dancefloor. Being an adult only hotel its unlikely that you are going to have the usual parrot shows and acrobats.

Our only real complaint about the hotel is that there is no proper courtesy room for your last day, just a shower at one of the pools, a bit of an inconvenience but not the end of the world.

All in all we would certainly return here but would be gutted if we didnt have a room that opened out onto the pool.

Room Tip: Room 043 is ground floor at the quiet pool. Patio leads directly to steps into swimming pool

Great hotel rooms always cleaned everyday , lounge is very good free wifi relaxing place to sit and check emails social media and so on free wifi can be picked up at the pool area aswell . Pools are nice never have to get up early to get a bed always beds anytime of day , food was very good best night was mexican that was so so good , if your fussy like me you will be fine lots of fresh bread chips, pizza every lunch time the dining room is a good size never seems to busy staff very helpful and always say hi and bye and thank you ... The cocktails on AI are fantastic i doubt the strawberry daq could be beaten by most cocktails bars so so good great choice for other cocktails aswell top marks .. Location isnt great bit thats not the hotels fault i guess , yumbo is rather run down and the beach bars shops ect run down too but dont worry for 5 euros get a taxi to MELONERAS this place is great lovely hotels, bars ,restruants and great shops and casino ... Its like a mini vegas and if you wanna watch the football as i struggled to find a good bar first weekend go to meloneras and on the front theres a bar the 19th hole it looked amazing shame i found it at the end of my holiday :-( would defo go back thanks sunprime !!

We were in this hotel with my family (we kids 22 and 26) and all we wanted was really relaxing week in the sun. And that we had!
Rooms were spacious and clean, with beautifull balconies. There were few swimming pools (I don't even know how many because there were always free sun loungers in the nearest pool). And the sun shined to the pool from 9am to 6pm. (at least!)
Breakfast was amazing, there was always something new we hadn't seen before. Lunch was also very good. Only disappointment was our first dinner, food was little bit cold and we really had trouples to understand our waiter.
It was in a walking distance from every where.

Just returned from Sunprime. Booked on basis of previous reviews. Loved every minute.

All inclusive food and drinks - excellent. All cocktails made properly and not pre-prepared in bottles. Strawberry Daquiris were fab. Food choice very good, good quality, great salads and themed nights - Italian, Mexican, chinese.

Room - comfortable beds, clean, pool towels and robes for Spa provided.

Pool - 3 pools, all clean, lots of sun beds - never a problem getting one.

Beach - it's about a 15 min walk to beach but free bus provided by hotel.

Entertainment - John and Alberto and Dusan - very good. After 10 days though all acts sang same/ similar songs so got a bit repetitive. Enjoyed water aerobics 5 days out of 7.

Staff - impressed from day 1 with reception, restaurant and bar staff all helpful and friendly.

We have been to the Canaries a lot and this is one of the best AI hotels we have stayed in - even better because is an adults only hotel. Good mix of nationalities and ages.

Would definitely recommend and return.

Room Tip: Some 2nd floor rooms have large balconies with sun-beds and parasols. We were lucky to be allocated...

Holiday for adults, spa facilities, two pools, Music every night, good restaurant and bar. So we are returning for the fourth time. An easy walk down to Maspalomas, as we do every time, around the desert to the other end and back up to the hotel. Keeps us over 64 in good shape. We recommend it!

Room Tip: Ground floor main building has a walk out to the pool and green lawn. We prefer view to the garden a...

This hotel is clean, spacious and has everything you could possibly want if you want to relax by the pool, eat and enjoy the weather. We are a young couple (26 & 23) and enjoyed our time at Sunprime very much. The staff were always very polite and very helpful. The facilities were good and the local tourist part of the island is only a 15-20 min walk away as is the beach. This was not a problem for us as we like to dip in and out of the hustle and bustle. the activities and entertainment consisted of water aerobics and live music which was great for the first couple of days but got a little tedious.
The food was typical for that of an all inclusive hotel, repetitive but edible. Drinks and cocktails and great. Try the strawberry daiquiri!!
Our bed room was large and consisted of a pool facing balcony, small kitchen (even if you are all inclusive), sofa and two single beds. Looking at the fire plan in our bedroom all rooms seemed to have the same layout as ours. Tip for the girls hair driers are in the room too.
There are 3 large pools and copious amounts of sun Loungers. If you want a particular spot I would recommend popping your towels out before breakfast but if you don't particularly mind and don't get to the pool until late morning there will still be plenty of them to choose from.
Gran Canaria as a place is nothing special. It is a typical rocky island which has the weather guaranteed. Visit the market in the northern part of Maspalomas and definitely visit the sand dunes they are incredible. I did hear that there is a nudist beach there too if your into that!!
I would definitely recommend this hotel if you don't expect 5* cuisine and entertainment. But if you want to relax, enjoy the weather and go for a stroll in the evening this is the place to go. Most enjoyable thing..... No children!!
