Hotel is expensive but for those looking for peace and quite it is excellent. I felt this hotel is mainly for older people looking to relax, there is not that much going on nearby and although the beach is very nice the area was too quiet for us. Booked half board package but only ate dinner here once! That was not because of the quality of the food but because we were always on the other end of the coast and chose to eat where there was more of an atmosphere. Next time I would stay in Maspalomas, save money on expensive taxis and enjoy the greater selection of night time venues.

Beautiful hotel in quiet location. Fantastic if you're over 65! Or German.... This hotel doesn't cater for English people. Hotel itself is gorgeous. But has the worlds most uncomfortable bed and you can hear upstairs neighbours on the loo. Food in restaurant on first night was spectacular. Sadly it went down hill after that. We might as well have eaten trash. The bar service was diabolical. No one there. The waiters were useless. Unfortunately this was our honeymoon and we were disappointed. No entertainment whatsoever on the evening. The best thing about this place is the jacuzzi and spa. All in all we would return to gran canaria but not to this hotel unfortunately :-(

Room Tip: Go elsewhere!!

Previous Tripadvisor reports are accurate and helped us choose this hotel which suited our need for a smaller hotel with more personal service in a quiet location with good food. The hotel has a marine theme and a friendly, caring team and active management to run it. Its a little old fashioned but has all mod. cons. It has a varied clientele which makes it a cosmopolitan and interesting place to be on holiday.

Some things can be improved e.g. cold/hot buffet equipment & gym equipment needs updating and the internet connection in lobby was always slow. The hotel is maintained to an excellent standard of cleanliness and repair ( watching the palm trees being trimmed was a spectacle!) We liked the serenity of the pool area: no loud music and views on the ocean. We liked the Yucatan guitar trio who entertained us one evening and the fashion show in the pool area one afternoon.

Our room overlooked the sea and we fell asleep with open balcony door to the sound of waves on the rocks below. Our room was a generous size with a large firm bed which had air-con (which we did not need), a silent fridge, TV,safe, reading chairs, balcony table & chairs, clothes drying rack, large bath/shower with efficient water supply. The room had been recently decorated.

The hotel is not geared up for young families (there were some) and is some way from the resaturants and nightlife they may be looking for. The location was perfect for us as you can walk from the hotel along the seafront to Maspalomas beach,Melonaras and beyond - an addictive pastime!

We had a very enjoyable week and look forward to returning to this hotel next year for a repeat performance!

Room Tip: Try the coffee in the independent bar situated below the hotel overlooking the beach & sea- it...

San Agustin is a sleepy town, perfect for couples like us who wanted to get away from it all and chill out. The Beach Club is somewhere where the staff will do a good job of looking after you.

Good points:
* Pool area has two pools, a Jacuzzi and many sun beds as well as gazebos to enjoy the shade from.
* Hotel is beach-adjacent, the view of the Atlantic Ocean is beautiful.
* Restaurant serves great breakfast and dinner. We stayed half-board, make sure your stay covers Tuesday and Friday night - then they have a sumptuous all-you-can-eat barbeque.
* Dinner and after-dinner entertainment includes music and acrobatic performers.
* Free Wi-Fi in the lobby and a decent sauna.
* New Years Gala had a great fireworks display with lots of food and alcohol.

Points upon which to improve:
* Their mattresses did not support our backs very well. To be fair the staff did replace our mattresses which improved the situation a bit.

Room Tip: Go for the sea view rooms if possible - we wish we had.

This was our first visit to the island and our first Christmas away from England. We found the hotel to be fabulous .......The bedrooms are spacious and well furnished and very clean. The reception area is very stylish and the staff could not be any more helpful if they tried. All the staff in the hotel are extremely courteous and professional at all times. The pool area was very relaxing, very well laid out and well looked after. The food was amazing very good quality and presented to a high standard. The tables inside and outside were always set beautifully with lovely napkins and tablecloths. We certainly appreciated the attention to detail. On Christmas Day the tables looked magnificent with shimmering table covers....the Christmas Feast was superb! A day to remember! We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing holiday at the hotel as it was not too noisy and the live entertainment was just right for us. We hope to return next year. Cathy and Cliff

Room Tip: Sea view is great....

After reading some of the reviews of this hotel I was just a little apprehensive but having had 10 days superb holiday I just wonder if these folk had been to the same hotel! This hotel has a good aspect both to the beach and for the promenade. The rooms are a delight beautifully clean and convenient. The whole hotel is well kept and the reception is very helpful and Emma goes that extra mile which makes for a relaxed holiday. We were the only British guests but as the language of the hotel is Spanish and English you are never misunderstood. The meals were as one would expect very well presented, breakfast was a buffet type with a choice to suit all. The evening meal was a la carte, with the half board having a choice of two menus ,mostly with a Canarian twist but never repeated during the stay.. Thank you all at Beach Club for giving us a super relaxing holiday, you can be proud of your efforts. We shall try to come again next year. The only criticism I would make is that the free parking can be a little bit of a lottery as most of the car park is pay as you go during the day.

Room Tip: Do choose a sea view
