Booked a week at this resort through Love Holidays. As always with them, everything is brilliant. We have used them before and were once again not disappointed. Flying from Bournemouth is a pleasure and strongly recommended. The airport in Gran Canaria seems to be designed for speed and we had passed through customs and baggage claim in no time. The transfer to our hotel took about 25 minutes (included in all-inclusive) The hotel is impressive and the reception staff are very welcoming and helpful. We were offered a room upgrade at 6 euro per day which we accepted. The room was spacious and clean although the bathroom seemed a bit outdated. There was no hair dryer in the room or any tea or coffee making facilities, which was a bit unusual for a 3 star hotel.
The dining area was spacious and the food was great. We could not fault any item presented and there was always a wide and diverse selection of food. The snack bar above the pool area also offered tasty snacks and lunches although pigeons were always flying about. The drinks offered as all-inclusive were on par with branded drinks and a wide variety was available.
The facilities the hotel offered met all our expectations, although I thought the heated pool would be warmer than it was. Pool tables and air hockey are also available to keep young one's busy. Plenty of deck chairs available too. We found it quite windy at this time of year. Life guards are on duty at all times which does put one's mind at ease when on holiday with young children.
The Animation Team offered a variety of activities. I felt that these could have been better promoted / advertised.
The hotel is about a 30 minute walk from the beach and does involve stairs and / or steep hills which could pose a problem with young children or the infirm. Taxis are freely available and cost from 4 euro's to the nearby shopping centres. We paid 8 euro's to the Meloneras Shopping centre, which offered a great shopping experience although mostly brand name goods. We also visited other local shopping centres and were not disappointed. Plenty of restaurants to choose from offering different eating experiences.
A trip to Palmitos Park is strongly recommended. 29 euro's per adult and 21 euro's for children shorter than 140cm may seem a bit steep but was worth it. Bus fair to the park was just 12.5 euro's return for 2 dults and 1 child from San Agustin. Return taxi would cost 50 euro's, so don't be mislead !!!
A number of excurtions are on offer at the hotel, you will be spoilt for choice.
