If you go to Fuerteventura and meet Jandia - YOU HAVE TO see Cofete!
Really really amazing beautiful place. Wild lonely picturesque beach with great waves and sand.
Great view opens from the road when you on the highest level of the road while driving to Cofete.
Stop to make pictures.

Accessible by any car.
No amenities there. Take water/food with you if you want to spend time there.

Mmmmmn, Cofete,
Said with a satisfying sigh, Fabulous if you like open space glorious golden sandy beach and plenty of it. A bit of a trek to get too. but, that's all part of the adventure, nothing ventured nothing gained, go visit. It seems busy-ish when you drive there; as there are cars always coming and going, however, the beach is so big that the further along it you go, the less people you see, and some even dare to be bare. but then who cares. The main road becomes less of a main road the closer you get to it. but you will
have no problems with a decent car. The first one we had in August was a 10 year old Seat Ibiza, we travelled all over the island with it and went to Lanzarote with it as well. Mind you, when we came back in November we used Goldcar and got a much newer yellow and black Citroen DS3.
There is only one Café / Restaurant for eating that we noticed near the beach, which everyone goes too. Food come ce come sa, We did discover another place somewhere near by but more of a surfer place, absolutely stunning view, food a bit expensive, but good. Each time we went to Cofete we visited Alexis & La Falua for Lunch or Dinner at Lajita as it was on the route. Disliked profusely Morro Jable, full of certain People with blonde hair and strong accents often not very pleasant and not locals originally. still on the last visit to beach We discovered the older part of MJ and found it to be populated with native Fuerteventurans and others. Plus another Fab Restaurant, well that's a whole other story.

Go there and see for yourself, these beaches are gorgeous! We were advised by a local not to go swimming there, as it is too dangerous due to currents.

Arriving to Cofete is not difficult despite the general informations available online. You do not need to have a 4x4,a normal car is enough (but pay attention that probably it's not insured for offroad). The road is not paved but signed and full of vehicles. In Cofete there is a park and a restaurant. Mobile phone coverage is ensured.
Do not stop to Cofete but leave here the car and walk towards north at least to the big rock called 'El Islote'. From here starts another natural beach called 'Barlovento'; wilder than Cofete.
If want to lay down in Cofete beach be sure to be far enough from the sea; the time increase quickly and some high and abnormal wave can reach you and your towel!

Lovely soft silky sand, very isolated with hardly anyone there. The currents there are so strong that it is dangerous to swim there. fine for sitting on the beach but take a sun umbrella as there is little or no shade to be found.
Very difficult to get there without a 4 wheel drive vehicle as the roads are very rough, little more than dirt tracks really.
