“Beautiful but be careful”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

Hard to get to in a normal car, buggy or 4x4 would be better. But it is very worth while. I went in a car and although it was a little hair raising driving along the narrow dirt roads the views and beaches are amazing.

We saw 3 other people on the beach with us and they were surfers. They like the waves at Cofete and the tides do get quite strong so be careful if you go out to surf.

Take lots of drinks, food and sunscreen as there are no facilities.

“Beautiful beach”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

We visited this beach for a few hours, it was beautiful, It is based in a town that is traditional to its past and it was great to see. The beach was stunning and peaceful and completely free from tourism which was nice to see. Its a bit of a rocky trek to get to but its worth it, theres even a few donkeys that meet you along the way and like to stick their head through the window. Theres a small restaurant to get a drink or a bite to eat but overall go to see yet another beautiful beach in the south of the island.

“Expansive secluded beaches with lively”
Reviewed May 31, 2013

Secluded beaches with the more lively waves from the West. Interesting geology and a small museum and tavern. There is also an old mansion that can be fun to look around. This is a very rustic and laid-back area. We met a burough along the road and fed him and apple.

“Please, please stay away from "my beach"!”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

This beach is mine! At least twice a year I come to Fuerteventura and have to visit "my beach!" The drive over the mountains will put you off ! Good ! Turn around and go back to your hotel! This is only for the few, the most deserving, intelligent, adventurous among you! Please stay away from this paradise, you clutter it up and makes it untidy! The magnificent nature is just breath-taking, the sea is wild, the currents dangerous. It is totally untameable, Gustav Winter tried and gave up his experiment! Wonderful! Okay then, - go and see for yourself if you must! But don't leave anything more than a gentle footprint or two behind when you leave!! I shall be checking on you! Thank you. Enjoy.

“The end of the world”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

One-hour (20 km) off-road rally drive to this beach was well worth it. Nissan micra 1.2 survived it so 4WD is NOT a must. Leave your car at the restaurant (there's only one so that shouldn't be a problem) and walk to the Winter Villa (no entrance fee, just walk straight in and say hello if you meet people who live there). Take your camera or panorama smartphone app. Views are really astonishing. Take a walk down to the cemetary and enjoy the waves. Food at the local restaurant is amazing. Fresh fish, squid, canarian potatoes, tomato salad. Incl. drinks we payed 10 EUR/person. Well worth it.
