Couldn't fault the hotel and staff last year, so decided to return. It was great to see most of the same staff, that made our holiday a good one last year, were still there - it makes it a good hotel to work at, if it keeps its staff!!.
There has been some upgrades around the hotel, since last year, we noticed - new and more sunbeds, with new umbrellas and pads--the outside area around the pool looked clean and bright
New decoration in the room, with a new shower ( we were given the same room, as last year, so we could tell).
The quality and choice of food at the hotel, remains as good as ever, with some additional extras-although at breakfast, at certain times it got quite busy.
The entertainment on an evening, generally has stayed the same - with the 5 piece band, on Friday night, the highlight- even one of the waiters got up to sing, to great applause.
The prices for drinks, at the hotel have generally stayed the same, -the only difference was the exchange rate.
it's nice to see a hotel make improvements, it makes for a good place to stay and have a nice relaxing holiday.
(A bit more of the new Road, linking the south of the island, as opened, so the transfer time, from the airport, is reduced).

Excellent location, almost right on the beach. Very nice food, good service. Rooms are large enough, larger than I expected and have nice terrace. Staff is friendly and helpful. Very nice pool and garden area. The only bad thing is that is quite noisy during night time.

We stayed at the Faro Jandia for a week in early October, travelling as a family of 3. We chose the hotel after reading earlier reviews and were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived and greeted with a glass of sparkling wine to the moment we checked out everything was fantastic.

Check in by a very friendly receptionist was speedy and efficient and by the time we got to our room our luggage was a few moments behind us. Our room was spacious and very clean, plenty of storage for the 3 of us. The additional bed was a fold down sofa bed which our son said was very comfortable, as were our beds. The bathroom was a good size and fully serviceable. Our room had a pool view and opposite the bar and restaurant. It got very little sun during the day which suited us but if you want full sun go for a sea view room on the opposite side. As we were away from the bar and restaurant the room was very quiet. Housekeeping was impeccable and they soon got to know your movements as after a couple of days our room was always cleaned when we were at breakfast.

We stayed half board and had no issues with the food. Breakfast was excellent with cooked food readily available along with cold meats, cheeses etc. The coffee served at the table was good but if you preferred something different or tea you could help yourself. We never had any problem finding a table and if it was not set a waiter was promptly on the scene.
There are two sittings for the evening meal. We opted for the later sitting, 20.15 to 22.00. The restaurant is cleared, tidied and reset between sittings so all the food was fresh and replenished continually. You are allocated a table when you check in so there is no rushing around trying to find a free table. The food was of a good quality and varied throughout the week. There is an extensive salad buffet which was fantastic. There are a number of choices for the main meal so there was always something for everyone. As a previous review has pointed out there was not a great selection of vegetable but you could always get some cold and fresh from the salad buffet. Desserts were superb, along with a frequent chocolate fountain and more fresh fruit that we had ever seen in a hotel restaurant. The waiters worked hard serving drinks and clearing tables and in keeping with most of the other members of staff always had a smile and a friendly greeting. Please note that the long trousers rule for gents is enforced.

The pool area was clean and tidy and plenty of very comfortable sun loungers. We never had any trouble finding 3 together no matter what time of the day we arrived at the pool. The pool was not heated at the time we were there but the water was reasonably warm and we managed a swim every day.

The location of the hotel is superb, a short walk across a walkway to a magnificent beach. You can turn left or right and walk for miles on beautiful white sands. There are a number of low key bars and restaurants close to the hotel so plenty to do at night. We did not stay in the hotel for the evening entertainment so cannot comment but on the occasions that we went to the bar later in the evening there was always a buzz.

All in all this is a very good hotel, which we would return to and would highly recommend.

We have stayed at this hotel about 12 times now over an 8 year period so you would presume that we like it, but some hotels can go down hill and disappoint, but NOT the Hotel Faro Jandia, as it has continued to improve and go from strength to strength.

Improvements and upgrades are a continuing aspect of this hotel as we have seen over the last 8 years or so.

This year new sun loungers and umbrellas had been introduced around the pool and on our patio we had new chairs and loungers and a new TV in the room.

The owners of this hotel care for their customers and unlike some hotels are spending money to maintain the high standard that was set many years ago.

The staff are friendly and do what they can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, however and IMHO they are understaffed in some areas, such as the dinning room and around the bar.

The rooms are well appointed with all you could wish for.

The pool area is lovely and peaceful and a great place to relax with a book whilst enjoying the sun or having a dip in the well maintained and clean pool.

Breakfast is great with so much choice, both hot and cold and will set you up for the day.

Dinner is disappointing, not so much with the choice, but the quality which is about the only negative that I have to say regarding The Faro, but disappointing it is.

Outside the hotel are some great shops and restaurants with just about all you could wish for, in what I would describe as an upmarket resort.

The beach is one of the best on the island and has miles of golden sand, but the sea can get a bit rough on occasions, but you can always go to one of the beach bars for a drink and something to eat and we found them good value for money.

The beach is a clothes optional beach and regardless of how you dress or not as the case may be, seems very natural dressed or undressed.

TBH this is one of the best hotels and resorts that we have been to for the price and everyone is friendly and enjoying their holiday.

Room tip: The deluxe rooms have a very large balcony and well worth the extra money

Me and my partner recently stayed here for a one week get away, we both found the hotel to be over all lovely. The hotel was presented clean and tidy, the staff were reasonably polite and helpful and the food and drink were at a high standard. I only had two small disappointments during my stay, the first was how the beds were separated as two single beds pushed together to make a double rather than a double bed, as when booking the hotel it stated a double bed room. And also when checking out of the hotel I was asked to present a "Beach Towel" card, which me and my partner both had no clue about, when arriving we were not informed about this card but still were told we had to then pay a bill of 15€ each, I however was unwilling to pay this as we had not been talked to or explained about the beach card, as well as even given one when we arrived, I was very greatful when the receptionist said he would drop the charges. All together are stay was very pleasant and would recommend.
