I would have given the hotel a 4.5 score if possible. It was difficult to give it only a 4 given the high level of customer service.

So the low down of what is good and what is not good.

The hotel is in a stunning location. It is very clean and the staff a very friendly and offer an excellent level of customer care throughout the hotel.

The meals at the hotel are amazing. There is fantastic choice of both local and international dishes.

The pool area is also great. Broadband is free in public areas. There are stunning views from the hotel rooms facing the sea and from the pool area. The beach is totally stunning and the hotel is in a perfect location for the beach.

The hotel is not strong in the following areas. There are many steps in the hotel. We don't have mobility issues, but if you do bear this in mind. There is no broadband in the hotel rooms, it is only available in the public areas. There is a charge for the use of the room safe which I think should be free given the cost of the room. Not sure what I can say about the entertainment, but if it is important for you, this hotel may not be for you.

One of the hotels weakest areas is the wellness facilities. There are treatments which are good, but the facilities themselves are less than adequate. There is a sauna which could do with refurbishment, but not really anything else.

We had a sea view room. I have been told that it is important to have a sea view room.

We will return which is a good recommendation.

Room Tip: Sea view room is a must.

We stayed here for 6 nights arriving on the 20th December 2013. Fabulous room (A block 304) with stunning sea view. Immaculate and clean throughout. The hotel is right on the beach (which has beautiful white sand and plenty of space). Pool area is very relaxed and spotlessly clean. We stayed half board and food is amazing with plenty of choice :-) Would highly recommend :-)

This review is very late! But better late than never....

We are a couple (28 years), no kids.

We had an excellent time. Initially we were put into block B (after asking for a sea view via email) but the room was on the side of the hotel, so we had a good view of the coast and the town. However, having read about bad reviews from street noise, I requested to be moved to block D. Request was granted and although the floor was low, we still saw (and heard) the sea and there was no noise whatsoever. We would however consider the previous room we had for next time though as the my partner quite likes to see towns and cities at night, as well as the sea. Plus the balcony and room were bigger in block B. Food for thought if you are torn between paying quite a bit more for block D (we were moved for free but I imagine it was not as good as higher rooms in block D).

Overall rooms were spacious, cool and quiet.

The hotel is clean, the food is amazing and the service is good.

The entertainment is German aimed, not a problem for us, as we quite like to watch all the older people dance and have fun... And when they know you speak English, they try to accommodate too. We spoke to the musicians and entertainers quite a bit, and they were all lovely.

Pool area lovely, beach amazing!

Spa was okay. I got a treatment from the woman who does the aqua aerobics and it was relaxing in a sense (she has a lot of energy so really got into those tense spots).

Morro jable was really nice. A perfect stroll away. We went out to eat quite a lot for lunch (and two dinners) and every meal we had was fab... Except one.... We both ordered chicken and it was awful, so perhaps a tip would be to stick to the fish and steak which is very very good (in the hotel the chicken is fine though). The sound of the sea crashing against the rocks below you as you eat your fresh fish was so nice and romantic!

Jandia was okay. Completely dead and more of a shopping mall than a town. We much preferred morro jable, but perhaps it was the time of year (2nd to 12th January).

Overall, I would definately return.

Happy holidays if you are going.... I am envious already!

Room Tip: B is not bad if you can get the corner, D is better but costs a lot more

We agree with previous reviewers who have commented on the excellent location; wonderful views from our very spacious and comfortable Block D room; and very good service. Additional comments:

(1) We do not normally commit ourselves to half board but as the price differential between half board and breakfast only was small we pre-paid for half board on the basis that we would probably eat out some nights. In the event the quality and variety of food on offer meant that we were happy to eat there every night. Not MIchelin star but good fresh ingredients; plenty of fresh fish, different meats, salads, vegetables etc

(2) Do go and see the turtles down by the harbour in Morro del Jable, open 10-1 Monday to Friday.

(3) Hotel provides only a combination shower wash/shampoo; no conditioner, separate shampoo, body lotion etc so take your own if you need it.

Room Tip: Block D, higher (Morro del Jable) end

Just back from a week long holiday here and were both very impressed by the hotel and its friendly staff.

We had a room with a sea view in D wing, which was absolutely perfect. It was kept spotlessly clean all week by the maids and had a private balcony with a perfect view out over sand and sea The only noise we heard was the breaking of the waves.

The restaurant provided a huge buffet for breakfast and dinner and the choice was almost overwhelming. You can ask for waiter service if you wish, but few seemed to bother. We ate out locally for lunch, but it was available in the hotel for those who wanted it.

I would say that there were predominantly German guests in the hotel and they were mainly over 50, but don’t take either point as a negative.

There was entertainment by the pool each evening, although it was the same music duo most nights, so it can get a bit repetitive (they are talented though). There are some nice places to go for a drink nearby, so you are not short of options.

There are three or four very friendly and well fed cats near the stairs to the beach, but they are kept away from the accommodation areas. The ‘door cat’ who occupied the position by the secure door to the beach was certainly popular with guests.

As has been said before, there are a lot of stairs in the hotel, because it is built into the side of the cliff, so if you have any mobility issues, you would be wise to check with both the hotel and your travel rep beforehand.

We will be back :-)

Room Tip: We had a room in D wing, which had a beautiful view of the beach and was very quiet.

We arrived at this hotel very late at night and woke the following morning to find it was raining and we were overlooking a dual carriageway! If you are travelling with Travel Republic, do NOT use the shuttle transfer. We landed at 8.40pm and eventually arrived at the hotel at 12.15am. We called at so many hotels I lost count. Not a great way to start our holiday. Our room was in Block B. I did write an email to the hotel a month before our holiday to inform them we were on holiday to celebrate my 50th birthday and our silver wedding anniversary and they emailed back to say that they had taken note but nothing could be guaranteed. Nothing was forthcoming which was a little disappointing. However, I can recommend this hotel very highly. Although it looks a little tired in places, our room was large and very comfortable. The food in the buffet restaurant was really excellent. The pool area is very pleasant and there are always plenty of sunbeds (beach towels are provided) and the beach is fabulous. 12 Euros will buy you two sunbeds and an umbrella for the day on the beach and there is a reasonable beach bar for lunch. The salad buffet for lunch at the hotel is very good. Jandia itself is an ugly resort but the walk into Morro del Jable is really pleasant in the evening and it is possible to enjoy a drink overlooking the sea, whilst avoiding the awful entertainment! The very best thing about this hotel was the staff; they were absolutely wonderful - always full of smiles and so welcoming. We had a lovely relaxing holiday with (after the first morning of rain) fantastic weather.

Room Tip: We were in block B and this overlooked a dual carriageway and the beach in the distance. I believe...

We were originally allocated a room in B block as we had not paid for full sea view an extra 300 pound for 2 weeks....this was quite good but overlooked the road but did have a view of the beach and the sea to the right in the distance. I found it a bit noisy the first night and asked reception if we could have an alternative they offered us one even closer to the road! We decided to stay where we were. However 2 days later reception rang and we were given a room in block ,A overlooking the pool with a sea view as a complimentary upgrade...so it's worth asking if you're not happening with your allocation on check in.

As everyone says there are steps steps and more steps to get to the beach definitely not for the less mobile or elder generation who have walking problems The rooms are spacious clean and quite comfortable although an extraction fan in the bathroom would be good..it gets very hot in there.the beds, are enormous allbeit a little firm but you get used to it.

The meals are good in the restaurant buffet style waiter on request the menu is varied but there are generally pasta fish meat salad dishes also soups and various deserts..Breakfast is the same everyday and could be hotter Service is excellent and efficient you are allocated your table for the whole of your stay dinner is two sittings 6 and 8 pm

Entertainment is not wonderful a duo singing the same songs every night and one or two professional acts .there is dancing on the terrace ...the Germans love to dance. We preferred to walk into morro jable and have a drink overlooking the sea

The beach in front of the hotel in wonderful 12 Euro for 2 beds and a brolly but you can get a deal by buying a week ticket and you only pay for 6 days ask the bed man!the beach bar has great pizzas for lunch but avoid the public toilet it's too smelly ugh!

Wi fi free in reception area beach towels changed on request..

Safe on room costs 30 Euro for 2 weeks! A bit expensive I thought!

All in all a good hotel if you are mobile enough for the many steps and are looking for a quiet holiday near to a lovely beach with good weather
