“A lovely place for a holiday”
Reviewed July 8, 2014

Lots of small shops and a wonderful prom. Always plenty to see, with quite a lot of chipmunks to watch, and feed. Lots of seats right along the prom.

“The most westerley point on the island”
Reviewed June 9, 2014

Here on an off-road safari. You really do need a four-wheel drive vehicle to negotiate the dirt track roads. The lighthouse is in a perfect location overlooking the Atlantic and the small village of Puerto de la Cruz. Well worth a visit.

“Wild, exciting and beautiful”
Reviewed February 26, 2014

If you visit Fuerteventura and you haven't done a trip to the lighthouse then, sorry, you haven't been to Fuerteventura. The 'wild' road begins not to far from Morro Jable, (a super village that you must also include on your visit list) and it is another hours drive to reach the lighthouse. Be warned that it is a wild, rough, dirt track of a road but it is a road and your car insurance company will cover your you for this trip. It's very windy and goes up as well as down. You will pass many other tourists as well as a lot of goats climbing the steep rocky cliffs. There is sign on the right, painted on a rock, telling you there is a restaurant in this direction and, although this is not the road to the lighthouse, do take this road for there is more to see at the end of this road. On your return, continue along the road you previously turned off. Yes the road is rough but it is worth the effort. Two minutes before the lighthouse there is a small, surfers type cafe where you will get a good cup of coffee or cold beer etc. This is also the last chance to use the toilets as there are none at the lighthouse. Drive to the end of the road and yo will reach the lighthouse and education centre. Look over the wall and watch the waves crashing against the rocks. To us it was really a beautiful sight. If you have enough time, drive from the lighthouse to Punta Pesebre and turn the last corner to Caleta de la Madera. This is Fuerteventura at its wildest. You will appreciate the return drive so much more and you can stop off at Morro Jable for a meal or another drink at one of the many restaurants and bars.
