there are lots of shops but little else, it seemed to lack any character.
I thought it could do with a tidy up.

This was not a spectacular sight. It is located by the side of the man road and is close to Jandia beach. Parking was free and easy to find. However I'd say the small shopping centre nearby was more interesting.

The lighthouse itself is nice but the area boasts some excellent coastline so have a walk around. People have made lots of love hearts and zen stones which is also nice. The rough and windy road here will take some time to traverse so if you have hired a car and dont want it to be obvious to the car hire company you been on such roads, take your time! The lighthouse will probably only take up 20 minutes of your time, but walking around the area to view the stunning coastline can take a good hour or two. Enjoy.

The road to Puertito de la Cruz and the Faro de Jandia is hardly the M6 but at least it is not on the side of a mountain! It takes a good 40 minutes from Morro Jable due to the tortuous nature and the rough surface but it’s well worth a visit. The lighthouse centre closes on a Monday (when we went) but there is a sheltered terrace to have a drink or picnic. In the village there are two restaurants, one in a beautiful position right next to the sea. Anyone with a healthy interest in old caravans will also have a field day here! Ironically the flat road to Punta Pesebre is metalled but we had to abandon it because of the huge pot-holes and generally dangerous nature of the road.

OK if you don't like to see "naturists" then avoid the area as this is full of German people eager to tan from head to toe, and IN BETWEEN...jokes aside, it is much more populated than Caleta whilst still keeping the charm, the wonderful beaches, fantastic, mouth watering restaurants and the general friendliness of the island.
