“good customer care from this hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2013

We arrived late at night and were pleased to be told that we could still get a meal that check in would be done once we had eaten as the restaurant was closing at 9.30.The meal was welcome after the days travel. Our cases were taken to our room for us which was good. On to the food then - absolutely superb something different everyday and a lot of choice. Drinks were great too- sprite, fanta coke to help yourself to and bottle wine with meals. This hotel really is all inc and we didn't need to spend any money; the spa isn't free but we didn't have any treatments.
There is a busy timetable of activities available for all and although we didn't join we noticed that others enjoyed the various activities on offer.
We found the staff to all be friendly and were very happy to help at all times. Particular mention and sincere thanks must go to the reception staff and housekeeping. On the final day shortly before we were due to be collected I realised that I had left my coat in the room. On informing reception they couldn't do enough to help me including being driven by the staff to the room on one of the little golf buggies to help locate the coat. There was little time, and I had almost given up hope of finding it in time for the departure, when it was no longer in the room, but then reception requested the head of housekeeping attend she quickly acted by going to speak to her team and check lost property - she then returned with the coat- I was very impressed with all they did to help me get the coat in time for the departure coach.
If you can ask for a sea view- we asked for a room change and they were very accommodating to our request block 14 looked to be the best for the views. The rooms are a little tired looking but very clean and bed was very comfortable. Maid service daily which was unobtrusive and very thorough.
The resort itself is very quiet nothing to do outside the hotel unless you get a bus or long walk down the beach= the beach is lovely but a fair few steep steps down to it. This resort is unspoilt and very natural and a nice quiet place to unwind.Weather was great but be aware it is really very windy!!!!. The only disappointment was the shop I bought some shoes which broke on the first day I wore them within hours - I asked for a refund but was refused with only an exchange offered- this was disappointing.
Overall a nice hotel with absolutely stunning views of the gorgeous colours of the sea from many points across the sea front of the property.

Room Tip: block 14 ask for a sea view it is worth it if you have to pay - I wish we had requested a sea view a...

Well after reading Sandra L review I can't really say any more.. This is a truly wonderful hotel..the food is outstanding and very good quality..one tip I would give is the pool by block 22 is very quiet and this is where you can have a good swim.. Mark the rep was very helpful. We had a fantastic time and already have recommended it to friends and will be returning..

Room Tip: We stayed in block 22.. It felt like we had our own private pool.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2013

We chose this hotel last minute (booking 5 days before departure - 22nd May 13) and did so having read the positive reviews. Whilst I agree that the name of this hotel group is misleading and potentially portrays images of 18-30 holidays, this is far from the case. If you like a hotel with every thing at no hidden extra cost (and no annoying wrist bands) then this place is for you.

Yes, the transfer is over an hour - having done the other hotel drop offs in the resort near the airport, the journey was an additional 55 minutes (from McDonald's roundabout - Yes, Mc Donalds restaurant is out here too)! This transfer may initially put you off but read on. We arrived at our hotel at 9.30 pm where we were met with glasses of Cava / fruit juice as we waited to check in. The process was swift and our daughter ate complimentary sweets from a huge bowl as we did so. It was so nice to hear that a meal would be provided in the Baia restaurant from 10.30pm. We were allocated a room in the block near reception (having opted for a standard room) and were glad we had as despite not having a pool or sea view, it was so handy for the reception/ bar(s) / dining / theatre etc, and there was no trek as some report around this low level spread out accommodation. Rather than wait for our cases to be taken to our room we easily took them to our room, changed, freshened up and were back for "dinner" at 10.30pm. The dinner awaiting us was very impressive (no make do meal option here), with a good selection of hot / cold food, starters/ mains/ deserts. No restrictions on quantity and the quality was evident. The drinks were on a help yourself basis - the taps to the Fanta / coke / Coke Light / Sprite / Red Wine / White Wine / Tropica (refreshing local lager) which you just fill your own glass with as often as you wish. The positive experience continued throughout - there was always somewhere open where you could eat 24 hours a day. Main buffet restaurant offered dinners such as salmon, hake, lemon sole, whole trout, beef, duck, with potatoes, rice, pasta, breads, endless salads etc. No matter what my description I cannot do it justice. We did not use the other A la Carte restaurants as our young daughter loved the opportunity to chose her own sometimes bizarre concoctions. The pool bar offers rolls (ham/cheese/tuna/ salami) , toasted sandwiches, and fries, along with ice cream tubs near by and also afternoon cakes. With a young child so easily impressed by ice cream options, we were so pleased that there were no branded ice cream to tempt kids that you had to pay extra for. Actually, there was nothing that you had to pay extra with the exception of upgrading the free litre of wine on your table each evening to the recommended wine of the day. We watched others just walking out of the restaurant with the part consumed bottle of free wine following dining. As was the case with many things such as do-nuts following breakfast and fruit to name just a few. Lunches were a marginally toned down version of the Dinner options in the buffet restaurant. Breakfast was full english, continental / croissants/ meats and cheeses / fruit / 4 types of porridge/ smoothies. Then we go onto the drinks - huge triple local brandy and whiskey at any bar, numerous cocktails inc kiddie cocktails, all day and night!

Now onto something other than consumables ..... we have never know a hotel offer so much in the way of fitness. You dont have to join in, just watch - we saw some great England/Germany friendly water polo games in the activity pool! Then there's spinning, zumba, aerobics, dance, pool scuba, archery, volley ball, tennis, road biking, mountain biking etc and all for free with qualified multi-lingual instructors. Additionally there's the Spa (payable). Then there's the under 10's disco in the Plaza bar each evening 8.30 to 9pm, and the shows in the theatre 9.30 - 10.30pm. Its truly all inclusive. Who needs excursions when you can see flamenco in your own hotel for free inc all refreshments! Around the various pools were so many sunbeds - even arriving at the poolside mid afternoon there were so many spare sunbeds (reserving beds is not permitted), and this was kiddie school holiday time at end of May. We did walk along the beach (down the steep steps), turn right and you will eventually reach the town of Jandia after 15 min stroll through the lapping waves - on the way you may come across the chipmunk looking squirrels that come out of the rock fall it the hope of some tip bits, although they need coaxing and swiftly retreat. The beach is initially rocky but clears to winder stretches of sand as you head towards Jandia. There is no immediate resort / shops/ etc around Club Magic, but with the package and choice you get in the hotel you dont really miss them. There are 3 small shops near the pools above the fitness centre which sell nik-naks such as those bits you forget/ run out of. We found the sun tan lotions pretty similarly priced to UK high street, and reasonable price holiday gifts. Our room was simply furnished with dark wood furniture, endless storage for all your clothes, clean, TV (limited english channels, but we dont go on holiday to watch TV), free room safe (digital). Despite our close proximity to the reception/bars/ etc, and sleeping with our patio window open we were never disturbed during the night - guests seemed quite respectful on returning to their rooms late.

We noted on another review a few concerns beyond the transfer issue 1. The quantity of German guests - we never had a problem and found all guests extremely courteous regardless of origin. In fact i was more embarrassed of being English due to a loud and brash english group than any issue with any other persons of any other country. 2. There is nudity allowed on the beach, but most are quite discreet and we did not find it offensive or any such in the hotel resort itself. 3. All staff were continuously courteous. Never did we come across a staff member who was not happy to help you or pour you a drink or serve you food. Which was quite amazing as they work such long hours - having done fitness classes at 9am you can then find them part of the stage entertainment until 10.30pm. A friendly "O'la" (hello) was always well received, as was "gracious" (thank you). 4. Our room was cleaned mid morning, never were we awoken/disturbed, and the time we put a do not disturb sign on the door until midday, the maid cleaned our room in the afternoon to the same high standard.

We could go on and on about how good this hotel resort is but feel we have covered most areas. If we have to be really picky - the island is windy, there are no umbrella type sunshades as they would be a potential missile but there are plenty of pagoda type shades and the breeze makes you feel cool enough that you can lay in the sun all day without feeling the need to shade. (Just be careful as it does not feel as hot as it is due to the wind). Regrettably we had a 2 hour delay flying home due to technical problems on the incoming plane - the airport practically shuts down at 8pm, and the burger bar at 9pm, so this small airport does not cater for flights delayed into the evening. Fortunately, the delay was relatively brief. But that's about the only down side we can think of (and our minds are still full of clear recollections having returned this morning).

We really hope that this review is of interest and enables you to make a balanced decision on your holiday, but we cannot recommend it enough.

Room Tip: Take a standard room. Not worth paying for a sea /pool view as it may put you by the pools but well...

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2013

We stayed at this hotel for 1 week 15/5/2013. This hotel is located only about 5 miles from where the world wind surfing championships are held, and therefor it was windy! We arrived at 2pm and cases were taken to our room, block 14 room 204, right over the beach front. Cant fault the hotel or its staff, everyone was plesent and the hotel spotlessly clean. The food was excellant. Always hot and a good choice every day for even the fussy. The hotel is huge but never seamed to be busy as there is plenty of space, but this is the only draw back, that you have to walk a fair way in the morning for a cup of tea. They could do with putting a little kettle in each room. Bottled water is supplied in each room and also a safe and towels as many before have said, so i will try and tell you what they hav'nt said. The steps to the beach are steep but managable. You can get to the local town/ shops by walking along the beach but this is about 11/2 hours walk (not a strol). Taxi is about 10 euros each way. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere and you can not just 'pop' out of an evening. The entertainment was average. On our previous holidays, it has been the animation team that has made it, not this time. They were ok but there is not much life around the pool as most activites take place at specific locations, and the 'pan pipe porn music' at quiet time, was just pure annoying.
We did go out. We did the local market on a Monday. Got a taxi there and back. Again this was only average, but plenty of leather bags and not much else. There is also supermarkets and 'tat' shops here. (we got a 1lt bottle of vodka in a supermarket for 5 euros!) Cigarettes are between 16-25 euros for 200 depending on the brand,( but your limit to take home is 200)
We also did the Oasis park. A free coach collected and returned you daily to your hotel. It cost 25 euros entrance for the 1st adult then the 2nd went for half price. It was a good day and there was plenty to see and do. (take a picnic from the hotel to eat, they will provide you with a box to pack it if you ask at reception).
We also did the 'blanket tour' This was a free tour of the island with an excellant host telling you all about the island and places of intrest, but in the middle you had to listen for an hour or so about a bedding product. There was no hard sell though. This trip was only open to adults. It was worth it just to get out of the hotal and see more of the island. We wanted to do the deep sea fishing too but this was 90 euros for 4 hours each!
The pools were still cold but there are more than enough sun beds to do each person twice and putting your towels out is just not necessary.
The hotel also offers you one free session in many things like scuba diving and road cycling. They have courts for beach volly ball, football and archery to name but a few.
This hotel has everything you may need, from free WiFi to a shop and cinema on site. You could not want for any food or drink with the 24 hours bar and snack places. Everything really is 5* but its location lets it down.
I have tried to tell you everything that has not been mentioned before and everything i would like to know before booking a holiday. Please contact me if you would like any more information.

Room Tip: Block 14 was fairly central to everything and lovely sea views.

We stayed at this hotel for a week on May 8th, we arrived about 9.15pm after a long journey. Staff were very helpfull, didn't have lift so slightly awkward to get cases to room, it was dark so couldn't see what view we had untill morning, and we weren't disappointed, looked over pool and beach. Grounds were lovely and well maintained. We have never seen as much choice for food as there was, if people can't find something they must have a problem, you could eat or drink any time in 24 hours. It's the best all inclusive that we've stayed at you could help yourself to bottled water anytime, which is a real bonus.
We will go back

Room Tip: Sea or pool view

Last stayed at this hotel when it was an occidental, its changed so much for all the wrong reasons in my opinion its still good but it used to be fantastic. Food was of good quality, breakfast was my favourite meal of the day seemed to go down hill after that. We liked the quietness it used to have, that has gone now. Its very clean and staff are great. Public toilets are all in need of new toilet seats some needed to be fixed back down properly a bit wabbley. We didn't use the entertainment but those who did loved it.
It used to be more for couples, there were a lot of families there.
The beach never had sunbeds 6 years ago, now there are loads as i'm getting older comfort is good but its all happened very fast I blame trip advisor for the increase in popularity.
We had rain on 3 occasions for about 10 minutes didn't spoil it but the wind was pretty bad this time so a lot of people seemed to have cardies on all day. Came home yesterday it was very still when we left.

Room Tip: If you don't want to hear the music when it starts at about 10.30 after they've done there s...

Fab hotel, great food, lovely atmosphere, beautiful grounds, chipmonks on the beach a joy, sea was stunning. Really enjoyed ourselves. If I were to make any critisicms at all (these are very minor) it would be that the towels supplied for pool use were generally tiny ad old (pretty useless) Parasols are definately required (there arn't any, just pagodas, and one of the ladies who swapped the towels was very very rude!! Saying that we would certainly return to this hotel in the future.

Room Tip: Block 11 1st floor (11124) was in a nice position, pool view.
