Just returned from a 10 day family holiday to this hotel. The hotel is basic but very clean. Staff all very friendly and will do anything to help. All staff work very hard but always have a smile on their face. Food was lovely - lots of choice for everyone.
Two downsides to the hotel - Location - Situated up a big hill so quite a steep walk to beach and shops - ok going down but a pain on way back!!! There is however a minibus on site that runs every hour to take you down and pick you up but only holds 8 people at a time. Other downside is there is a lot of steps. Majority of rooms you need to walk up or down a flight of approx 8 steps same to pool and to restaurant so can be a bit tricky for pushchairs/wheelchairs.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 606 - one bed apartment. No steps to room - straight across from reception!

We have just returned from a week all inclusive at this hotel with 2 kids (age 11 and 8).Our room had the most magnificent view over Santa Ponsa and the largest balcony we have ever had in any hotel comprising of 2 sun loungers,table,4 chairs and plenty of room to spare. The rooms have 2 ceiling fans which for me made it very difficult to tolerate being in the room for any length of time day or night. We hired a 'turbo fan' via reception staff, 18 euro/week, on the second day as me and the kids just could not sleep.Having said that this was the ONLY flaw with this hotel. You can also hire portable air con for 70 euro/week if you prefer.
The staff work tirelessly and very long hours but always have a smile and are willing to assist you in anyway they can.The food was amazing!!The choice, amount, cleanliness, attention to detail, variety available was second to none.Food was always freshly made and replaced and refilled constantly by kitchen staff. The restaurant was so clean, airy(ceiling fans and air con) and waiting staff were seen clearing and relaying tables as soon as guests had left.
The 'animacion' team, particularly Carlos, were great with the kids and adults alike, always having time to smile and say hello, good morning or 'Oh La La'.
The hotel is very family friendly with kids club, daytime entertainment programmes such as archery, tennis, ping pong etc, mini disco from 8-8.30pm followed by evening entertainment from 8.30-10.30pm.We never stayed for the evening entertainment as we went to the shops in Santa Ponsa or 'the square' at night. Both of these involve walking downhill which isn't bad but the climb back up is hard going in the heat.A taxi is about 4 euro from resort to hotel or hotel shuttle bus is free but last run into and out of town is at 6pm.
We found 'the Square' to be 'tacky',yes there's evening entertainment(tribute bands),but you have to eat at one of the restaurants or drink at one of the bars to sit in the Square to enjoy the free entertainment. It is encompassed by about a dozen shops which are 'tacky'.We didn't like this area or spend any time here at night as it wasn't the family friendly kind of environment we'd thought it would be.It was just a place for adults to get drunk while their kids were being entertained, not our idea of family friendly.
The main resort is nice with lots of shops, market stalls, restaurants and bars, promenade, beach, mini golf, amusements, basically something to suit everyone.
The safes in the room are not in use but you can rent a safe in 'the safe room' just downstairs from reception and you get 3 euro deposit back when you return the key.The hotel shuttle bus has no air con so sit in the front seats were the windows are open to stay cool.Lovely coffee from the coffee machines in both the restaurant and bar areas. The 'adult pool' is a quieter pool area if that's more your scene. The hibiscus terrace was our favourite place to sit during the hottest times times of the day.A tranquil area with tables and chairs, easy access to the bar for drinks, ice cream and coffee, cool pleasant breeze blowing through and spa type music playing in the background.Look out for the 'zumba' dance at 1 and 5pm everyday by the pool and I guarantee by the end of the week you'll get up and have a go yourself before you go home.
To cut a long story short I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again. The all inclusive package is excellent and worth every penny.

Room Tip: Hire air con or turbo fans x 2. When you leave your towels out on a Monday morning to keep sun loun...

I cannot say more than previous review (apart from adding the views from the restaurant and some of the apartments are stunning) so apologies for cutting and pasting!

"I cannot praise this hotel enough. The staff were excellent and very attentive, friendly and polite, the facilities were fantastic, the accommodation was clean and spacious. The pool was fantastic the kids lived in there. I think the only down side was people putting towels out on sunbeds in the early hours but that happens everywhere. the hotel is well situated and a good size, very secure. free shuttle to and from the town or a taxi is a couple of euros. The entertainment was great with great staff, the restaurant was amazing, the choice of food every morning, noon and night was varied and very tasty. I would recommend this hotel for a great relaxing stay, worth every penny!"

If there is a downside, it is that because of the high quality of food and drink provided, it makes you resentful when you have to pay for drinks in the town...but that is a small price to pay!

Room Tip: Some apartments are accessed by a few steps,so if you have difficulty with those (e.g have a buggy...

What a frustrating hotel, so good in so many ways but let down as well.
The good points:
This is a beautifully situated hotel with fantastic views from the outside dining area.
The food was excellent, always good variety and well presented. Despite being small there was never a long wait for food.
The staff were, in general excellent, particularly the restaurant and bar staff.
The apartments were good although, despite our problems on arrival (see below) we only had one apartment with a balcony and both too low down to get really good views.
The bad points:
The hotel has a reputation for overbooking. Despite booking in February for late July arrival, they had no rooms and we were shipped off to a hotel in Santa Ponsa (This happened to a good number of families). We were offered the compensation of extended all inclusive (we were leaving at 7pm) - apparently they normally remove the wrist band as you check out at 12 ?? I have never come across this before. We were also given a safety deposit box free for our visit. One evening the director came round the tables at dinner asking how things were, when I explained he was not surprised or apologetic. When I pointed out that we had booked in February he said "perhaps everybody else booked in January!"
The pool has no-one on duty. There are big signs saying no lilos, but the pool was full of lilos, boats and rings making it difficult to swim. There is a second pool which is supposed to be quieter but one afternoon there were 3 lilos, 1 boat and 2 rings there. Also the pool is supposed to close at 6:30 but most evenings there were people in the pool after 11pm
The final niggle (common in most hotels - Los Delfines in Menorca last year was a notable exception), you could never get a sunbed until late afternoon when people started leaving. Once again there are notices saying sunbeds cannot be reserved but nothing is done about it, one man proudly told us that he set his alarm for 5 every morning so he could put his towels out!
Santa Ponsa is a great resort and the beach is excellent, we went down most days. yes, it is along walk back but the hotel does run a free shuttle and the taxis were reasonable. Gentle walk down and a lift back seemed the best option.
As I said so frustrating as the hotel could have been so good.
The views from the outside eating area were magnificent and you would have paid a fortune for the view in a restaurant. Lots of shade over the outdoor area and we had every meal outside which was perfection

Room Tip: Ask for a high room with a sea view, some of the balconies looked superb. Sadly, despite asking for...

Travelled with my wife daughter her husband and two children when we arrived our rooms were not ready had to wait till 1 for the first room and the second was ready at 1-30 while walking about I noticed how dirty this place was. the outside eating area was not cleaned once during the 2 weeks we were there they closed at night and in the morning when you went up for breakfast the waste food was still lying on the floor and the tables had not been cleaned also the stairs leading from the pool down to apartments D,E,F were never cleaned and parts of the pool area were never cleaned my wife and I were in room 910 which was like a sweat box now I know how the British POW felt in the Japanese prison camps the main bar area was the same a sweat box at night when the children's mini disco you had to get up and sit at the pool as the pool attendant would lift your towels if you were not there complained about this and was told that there were 500 rooms and only 78 sun loungers and less than 20 umbrellas at the main pool there were about 30 sun loungers at the other pool this hotel should employ more staff to clean the restaurant and the bar area in the restaurant there are only 3 waiters to clean away the dishes and at peak times 1 of the bar staff have to go and give them a hand which leaves only 1
at the bar to serve clean the tables wash the glasses after I had read the reports before we left we thought that this hotel would be OK what a BIG BIG disappointment it was so much I would never recommend this hotel to my worst enemy
