Just spent a week here with my daughter and two grandchildren aged 3 and almost 2 . We had a ground floor apartment which was spacious and a small balcony (no pool view) as was obscured by bushes but otherwise adequate for our needs.
We we're self catering and we're told we weren't alllowed in dining room as it was for all inclusive guests not to worry thou there's a snack /bar area next to the pool area which doesn't open till after breakfast is served to all inclusive guests (deff a downside) a range of snacks are available but service is very slow ( waited 30 mins for 2 plates of fries) and with two small hungry toddlers not good
The customer service rep was amazing as after speaking to her she got our fries within minutes and even gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne for our wait
The pool areas are really nice , surrounded by Astro turf which meant no slipping for the kids , deff a plus
Ignore the fact ur not meant to reserve sunbeds or put towels down as every one seemed to be doing it
Beach is 5 mins walk away and is nice but once again nothing there but sand and sea
So if all u want to do is sunbathe it's right up ur street
Surrounding restaurants and cafes are good with plenty of choice
All in all a good place for family's with kids who love to splash and muck about in water
Last but not least the ENTERTAINMENT!!!
Boy does that leave a lot to be desired,
Pirates a plenty but it's not really geared around kids ... a bit dark and too drawn out so little ones get bored and quickly lose interest

Went to pirates hotel with wife and kids payed quite a lot for it self catering would definitely not go back hotel was ok but the some of the residents was on a mission to just get plastered from 10 in the morning so lots of swearing from parents kids doing what they want staff was nice but if like me your a family man and just want a stress free holiday don't come here I'm not a boring person but people having a bit of the other under your balcony is a bit to much I've read the bad reviews on pirates and thought I'd give it a go I should of listened to them

Pool is very nice and fun for the kids, it is all astro turfed so no slipping over.
Food is nice, and enough. We found the selection a lot smaller than other hotels, however there was plenty and always something to like.
Kids club was fantastic, we had a week of mostly cold and rain, so normally wouldn't let them go to a kids club all day, however didn't have much choice here, but kids loved it. Very secure too!!
Hotel itself is really quirky. Rooms are ok, fridge in kitchen. Double bed in bedroom, and a pull out sofa bed in kitchen/diner/liv room. We found it a bit tight for the 4 of us ( kids age 5&8).
Location is quite central and 10 mins walk from beach.
They pride themselves on entertainment, however we thought it wasn't good at all. They do work hard, but 1 evening there is absolutely nothing on, another is just a parrot show, and then they have 2 pirate shows which people rave about! but tbh we thought it was dark and depressing, i was expecting pieces of 8 and parrots and naughty cheeky pirates, but this was divorce and murder, which kids didn't really understand, although did find it funny when he fell in the pool.
The big pirate show of the week is 12 midday on Sunday. We went with Jet2 and were dropped off at 3pm, and picked up at 11am on Sunday so totally missed the highlight of the week, my kids had been watching videos before we came so were really disappointed to miss this. Shame on Jet 2 for selling this as a highlight!
Unfortunately there were many smokers (around the kids pools too) stubbing out their cigarettes on the astro turf, total lack of respect. I found the ridiculous amount of smoking hard to be around as was so much and was making my kids cough a lot! I made the customer service lady aware as thought a family hotel should have no smoking around the kids pool. She agreed and apparently the hotel is now non smoking with an area for them to go poison themselves instead of my kids. Top result and well done pirates village!!
I would normally be giving a 3 star for this hotel, but the way they handled the smoking was fab so have upped it to 4 for this reason only.
Would we return? Yes as the right price but there is no way i'd pay over £4k for 2 weeks in summer as evening entertainment wasn't up to standard for that price.
Hoping they have kept to the no smoking!

Just returned from pirate village this is an amazing hotel for kids. Clean, safe and loads of family entertainment my kids did not want to leave. The staff were perfect and the pirate show at night is a real spectacle even for the adults.Food was great and even if self catering the hotel allows free ice cream for the guests. We stayed in room 246 with the best view of the stage from the balcony.

Room Tip: the rooms are all well positioned
