I returned home on the 22nd of August after spending two glorious weeks all inclusive at the Punta del mar. As a seasoned traveller i can truthfully say this is the best hotel that i have stayed in.
My room was on the third floor no. 311. The view from here was breathtaking which was overlooking the bay and open sea.
All of the staff were polite, helpful and friendly nothing was to much bother for them.
I could not fault the food in the restaurant or at the pool snack bar, The food was varied and plentiful.
The pools and the pool area were spotlessly clean as was the rest of the hotel.
A big thumbs up must also be given to Sam and Adam the entertainment team, They kept guests entertained daily with aqua aerobics and poolside games and the evening entertainment was tailored to suit all age groups.
The surrounding area to the hotel is secluded and quiet. But within ten minutes walk from the hotel there is a delightful square with restaurants, gift shops, a couple of bars and taxi rank.
If you want a livelier shopping area and beach. A trip to Santa Ponsa Plaza is about half hour walk away or a taxi ride costing 4.50 euro's
A trip to Palma to see the famous cathedral is a worthwhile trip.
I have enjoyed my holiday so much that i am arranging a return visit for next year

Booked a week at Sentido Punta del Mar. The reviews sounded really amazing but this was not the case when we stayed here. We did get offered the water or orange juice at reception, but there was a mix up with rooms and suites etc and the check in took longer than usual. The room disappointed us, it was compact and that's being kind. The views are fantastic, as it's on a hill and one of the selling points of the hotel is it's large glass windows with sea views. The room had a problem with noisy air/conditioning as soon as we put it on the first day. This degenerated into a complete malfunction, which at first we were relieved with the end of the clicking noise. However we were told that it would be fixed by the time we got back that evening. It wasn't and we were again told sorry, it will be done by tomorrow. It still wasn't with no apologies for a lack of service. This made sleeping and getting ready in the morning a difficult task and in turn made a bad feeling to the start of the day, the exact opposite of the idea of coming to a relaxing cool, calm expensive retreat. Cannot say how this simple problem resulted in such a bad experience for us. This could and should have been a wonderful week. It wasn't, no excuses.

First, we want to apologize for this issue that you had during your stay. We would like to inform you as well that we have already spoken with the Maintenance department to checked what happened. Normally we send the technician straight away and if they say that it is not possible to be solved, we do our best to give the guest another room.

We have checked room per room and now is working properly in all of them.

Sorry again and we would like to see you again to see the improvemet.

I booked this hotel after staying at the cala vinyes on two previous occasions. On arrival it was not a disappointment. The staff are exceptionally helpful and cannot be faulted for their very helpful demeanour. It has two bars but if you are AI the full range of drinks is not available in both bars. Our air conditioning did not appear to work but this was soon resolved on our first night. There was no fridge in our room and unfortunately despite a number of requests for one, including to our rep we still did not receive one. On speaking to another guest it would appear this was not a one off as their room does not have a fridge either. These rooms are advertised as having fridges and I am sure it was part of the criteria in them being given four stars....I feel very sorry for the reception staff who are required to fob off guests who go to them with complaints about something so basic.

I have just returned from the Sentido and to be honest before I went I was a bit concerned about some negative reviews on here particularly about the air conditioning. I even went as far as emailing the hotel with my worries. I needn't have worried because it is a superb hotel probably one of the best I've stayed in, I have never returned to a hotel I've stayed in before but already I'm planning to return to the Sentido next summer or even October half term this year. The staff are brilliant from reception to every other member, they work with a smile on there faces and nothing is to much trouble. The food is varied and excellent, the entertainment very enjoyable, room clean and well maintained and no problem at all with the air conditioning, so thank you to everyone at the Sentido for making my holiday one of the best if not the best we've had.

We have just returned from a week at the Punta del Mar and would like to mention a couple of negatives before going onto all the positives about this hotel.

Firstly, the dress code for men in the restaurant for evening meal is not advertised on either the Thomas Cook or Sentido website that men have to wear long trousers and short sleeved tops. Luckily we had read it on here so took some with us. The bugbear with it was men were being turned away, even in smart 3/4 pants and tailored shorts and asked to change, but they were letting females in wearing hot pants and skimpy tops. If there is a dress code, then it should apply to everyone and females should also be asked to wear smart clothing for dinner.

Secondly, which is more of a personal choice, but it would have been nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Even though hot drinks were available at breakfast and also from the bar by the pool from 10.00am, the ability to have a hot drink before going for breakfast would have been nice.

However, the holiday we had was amazing, the reception staff were friendly and went above and beyond if you needed help and advice about anything and on arrival, the first thing they did was offer you a glass of water or orange juice. Sam and Adam from the entertainment team did an amazing job and if you said you didn't want to join in, they didn't push you to and appreciated that you wanted to just relax. Bar and restaurant staff were always happy to see you and made you feel welcome. Food in the restaurant was lovely and there was always an exceptional choice. There is also a spa in the hotel which made a welcome relief from the heat of the afternoon if it got too hot. The Blue Bar was a great place to go for a drink and had a different cocktail of the day each day for you to try.

We stayed in a junior suite, which from talking to other guests was quite a lot bigger than a standard room, however, we didn't see one so can't comment on the size difference. All rooms have a fridge and a bottle of water is in your room when you arrive. Views are breath-taking and all rooms have a marvellous sea view.

The hotel is situated on the top of a hill and the walk into Santa Ponca takes about 15 minutes and is an enjoyable stroll, but for anyone with mobility problems it could be a struggle getting back up the hill, but a taxi back to the hotel was only 4 euros. However, about 5 minutes walk from the hotel was 'The square', an area of bars, restaurants and shops if you wanted to get out of the hotel but not go far.

All in all we had an exceptional holiday and the fact that it is adults only just added to the experience and we wouldn't hesitate to go back again and recommend to friends.

Just got back from a weeks holiday at this adults only hotel. What a beautiful hotel. Everything is white and blue just amazing decor. On arrival you are greeted with fresh juice or water. Reception staff are very helpful with a smile. Our room was amazing , a junior suite. Large balcony with sun loungers and table and chairs. Huge room with all modern decor with a cream leather sofa. Bathroom lovely again all extremely modern. Not a mark on the walls spotless clean. The food is absolutely gorgeous with so much choice and the quality is amazing. The entertainment staff Sam and Adam are great lads and try to make everything fun. The pools were great. Sun beds cannot be reserved before 8am, great idea but you could get a sunbed anytime of the day. Even double beds to sunbathe on..... Bliss soooo comfy. The Blue Bar is my favourite. Double beds to just lay on and drink your cocktails while watching the sunset. Beautiful. Every room including all public rooms in the hotel have a sea view. Never seen views like it. Even as your laid on your sunbed round the pool you look out to sea. Just amazing. All the staff are so happy and smiling didn't have one grumpy member of staff. Well done to everyone at the Punta Del Mar. I would recommend this hotel to Anyone that enjoys quality and tranquility. I would certainly return .

Room Tip: I would recommend a junior suite however all rooms have the same decor apart from the size. Floor 5...

I want this to be a thoughtful report on a hotel well worth consideration for your next holiday. We stayed for two weeks in high season and cannot praise enough the service we received. As soon as we arrived we knew we had chosen well. The reception is on the 6th floor of a 7 floor hotel set into the cliff face all of which have unparalleled views of the bay of Santa Ponsa. There is an 8th floor penthouse suite in preparation which should be stunning when completed. my recommendation is to get the highest floor possible subject to your budget. We went all inclusive with Thomas Cook and that brought some added advantages in terms of a free "a la carte" 8 course meal for one evening and an extremely knowledgeable and helpful Rep (Rita).

We saw none of the earlier reported problems with air conditioning and generally the hotel was in a very good to excellent condition in terms of décor, furnishings and serviceability. Clean, white and crisp with blue accents throughout. Wifi was heavily tested but kept me in contact with home and office with expected reduction of band width as the younger residents got going on their absolutely vital reports to Facebook etc.

Turning now to the staff - this was an example to all hotels in terms of approach, teamwork and attitudes. Faultless and committed with a sense of fun to boot. The Manager should be very proud indeed of the team he has. Bar staff in an all inclusive environment can become cynical of visitors attitudes but we saw nothing but positive and helpful responses from the staff at all times.

Food served in the restaurant was always fresh and plentiful. Somewhat biased towards a British breakfast (fine by me) it had all the other ingredients to cope with all tastes. We saw Spanish and Mallorcan themed nights with Cava in plentiful supply. Excellent.

We holiday about three times a year and look to move around to see the World but this is a hotel we will return to - I'm sure..

Room Tip: Rooms on 6th and 7th floor are recommended
