very basic and interior and furnishing are a bit dated as stated in previous reviews is a bit noisy as stated again in previous reviews so we didnt have any surprises there.
Reception staff we found very helpful. Room cleaning and fresh towels, sheets only changed once in the 14 days. travelled using low cost holidays, there shared shuttle drop off and pick up was two streets away fine for going home as you have your bearings not best directions from bus driver when you arrive though.
Pool could do with opening before 11am, for those of us who are early risers.
All in all good location central to everything had all basic essentials.

Centrally located this perpendicular lavatory is branded and owned by the "Snoepys" group, look for the large sign on the rather tatty and long ago painted exterior. Though centrally located this isn't what I'd consider a one star hotel rather half a small frozen moon hotel. Tatty interior, old furniture and fittings the "apartments" boast a disco in the basement which sets the whole edifice vibrating until four in the morning so the only possibility of obtaining any sleep is to self anesthatise on San Gris and Estrella Dam. Part of the genius of the design of this building is the central atrium which distributes the noise, general misery and shrieks of the low rent clientel throughout the whole building. Breakfast is a joke, the very worst selection of mini eggs, tissue paper thin bacon and watered down orange cordial you will see outside of a Salvation Army Hostel. Avoid like the plague

Well reading reviews knew all pitfalls before we went, we were given a room on 3rd floor near nightclub, yes loud music till 5 am not really a problem tho, our neighbours around us were noiser drinking till earlier hours on balconeys.

We arrived 6+ hours before our check in time, reception radioed to see if our room was ready and was so gave it to us straight away, we went in to find a large 2 bedroom twin room apartment, was a little tired but clean, the toilet seat was missing off the system, so mentioned this on way past reception and was sorted and fixed before we arrived back to room.

Breakfast was included and was hot and fresh, reception staff friendly and helpfull.
did not get round to using pool but looked great and was cleaned every morning, all in all good value about £20 p.p.pn with breakfast a sea view and close to centre of Salou.

A lot of the reviews for this hotel/apartment complex are, in my opinion, over-necessarily negative. We had an enjoyable stay at Almonsa Playa - we were using it as a base for PortAventura for six teenagers, we were shattered each night - despite the nightclub being underneath the hotel playing music until 6AM, surprisingly we had no problems sleeping. The beds were comfy enough, kitchen a little small but manageable. Air-conditioning was an extra charge, but surprisingly we didn't need it. We were on the second floor from the top so the views were stunning. Only disappointment was the shower...the hot water barely lasted 3 people and the power was poor.

Overall we felt that the appartment offered good value for money. Reception staff were calm and generally helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for a room nearer to the top if possible - stunning views of Salou and the surrounding coast and...

My Husband, myself and my 16 year old daughter stayed here for 5 nights. So glad we didn't take much notice of the reviews as we found the place very nice. A bit out of date, but clean and very large apartments. The cleaners came everyday (Not sure why other reviews say they didn't get this) We had the beds made, fresh towels and toilet roll every day.

Food a bit basic but all depends on what you like.

Kitchen equipt with fridge, hob, cutlery and plates/pans etc. No Kettle.

This hotel is in such a good location! In the middle of everything. There is a nightclub next door but you don't really here it, the main noise was from the alley that went down the side of the hotel.

The reception was clean and staff very helpful. Our boiler didn't have very much hot water the 1st night so went and reported it to reception and within 5 minutes man came and looked, had it working withing 20 minutes. Fantastic service.

The pool area is clean as is the pool.

There is also wi-fi in the reception area.

Salou is a VERY safe place to be day or night! However there are always people looking for isolated drinkers walking home very late - If you're going to go out late and get blind drunk take only what you can afford to lose.

Thanks to all the staff, we had a great break!

Room Tip: "Higher floors have less noise"

Me (21) and my friend (20) stopped here for a week.

The reviews are very critical for this hotel and some are unwarranted. Our room was very big and our balcony was spacious. The hotel had listened to what I put into the "Special Requests" box when booking because that was complete as well.

This hotel is in such a good location! In the middle of everything. There is a nightclub next door but if you ask to move away they will accommodate (depending on availability).

The maids were willing to clean the room every day, I say willing because they'll gladly just hand you some towels at the door and leave you to it. We also left our money €1500 in the open and it wasn't touched.

The receptionists are very chilled out and calm about everything. We were unfortunately pickpocketed at 5am walking back to the Apartment, so we told reception and they paid to have the lock on our room changed (they stole the key as well). PS - Salou is a VERY safe place to be day or night! However these were looking for isolated drinkers walking home very late - If you're going to go out late and get blind drunk take only what you can afford to lose.

You cannot expect to pay cheap prices and get a goldmine. You get what you pay for!

The food is the worst part of this hotel. Very slim selection and cold. I had pasta and bolognese which turned out to be cold pasta with cold tomato sauce on top. However the staff in the restaurant are very willing to help.

The pool area is clean as is the pool.

There is also wi-fi in the reception area.

Thanks to all the staff, we had a great holiday!

Such a horrible place, how can this place still be running and also to pretend that is a 4 stars aparthotel, not even 1 star from how it looks, absolutely terrible. The apartment was horrible, not cleaned, the bed very uncomfortable, very but very small bathroom, a little kitchen, furniture very old, actually everything was very old. We were at first floor, and downstairs a club, with very loud music till 6AM, so sleep if you can. This is not a hotel for families or if you want to sleep, but I even recommend it even for teenagers that party all night. I wouldn't recommend it not even for 1 night, horrible.
