We have travelled all round the world but this has to be the worst holiday we have ever been on... this was our children's first holiday and to say it was a let down is a total understatement... we arrived at 10am to check in we waited over 2 hours to check in (only 5 families in front of us) when we did get to the front of the queue we got our breakfast passes etc and waited to be given our waterpark passes which we was told were included only to be told by the useless receptionist that they were not included and we would have to purchase them AGAIN.... obviously we was not going to do that as we had already spent the best part of 4 grand on a weeks holiday so that was the first time our children were let down... we were also told there was full use of a gym ON SITE which was a big selling point for myself and wife as we are both professional power lifters but yet again that was another lie as we had to pay €10 extra per person per day so that's another €140 on top of our already rip off price... then there's the food which at a push I would say was 1 star the choice if you are foreign is brilliant but for normal people it was the poorest choice I've ever seen.... the rooms are great if we are in the 90s there was no couches like in the brochure and the bedding was never change geddit by cleaning staff we had to resort to taking bedding off trolleys ourselves and making the beds up (something we should not be having to do on an all inclusive holiday) on the 5th day we saw some profiteroles on the buffet which we grabbed 3 of and proceeded to bite into one only to find it was totally frozen and it ripped half of my tooth out causing severe pain, the buffet manager was about as much use as a chocolate teapot and called me a liar in front of the whole restaurant as 1 of HIS MEMEBRS OF STAFF said they were not frozen but they were as they quickly disappeared into the back with the tray and brought out different ones... an incident report was filled out and the hotel WILL be paying for a new tooth when back in the UK... all in all its been the worst holiday ever I could go on but it's pointless as the staff don't care about there customers they just care about raking in the cash.... on a plus side the pool is beautiful but the life guards and rules are a joke you can't take an inflatable into the pool for the kids yet kids and adukts can run havoc with high powered water guns if you want an expensive version of Blackpool then book here but if you want a nice family holiday then avoid like the plague!!!!

My daughter and I have previously stayed at Portaventura's hotel Caribe but this time we chose El Paso because it's their only hotel that offers all inclusive and we went with my husband and step son. We all stayed in one room and paid around £400 a night, booked direct with the hotel. We booked our flights separately. The hotel was nicely themed and very clean. There was a buffet restaurant, a Mexican restaurant and a snack bar. Other reviews complain about the check in process being slow but the staff need to explain the meal options, put wristbands on everyone and ask what time you want to have breakfast for every single day of your stay. As soon as you have checked in, you can go straight to the theme park. We bought the express ride wristbands for €61 each which covers your length of stay which I would really recommend. They cost €48 each a day if you are not staying in their hotels. There's lots of choice for breakfast. 3 types of sausages, bacon, fried eggs, beans, tomatoes, chips, pastries, cold meats, cheese, yogurts, fruit and lots of pastries. They only have one toaster and one drinks machine in each large dining room so there can be large queues for those. The buffet lunch and evening meal always had pasta with tomato, bolognese or carbonara, chips, soup, fish, vegetables and fruit and then different dishes. The snack bar had hot dogs, sandwiches, chips, fruit, ice cream, toasties and burgers. Coke, Fanta, slushes, water, beer, house wines and local spirits were all included in the all inclusive as well as about 5 cocktails. You are all given vouchers for a meal in the theme park every day but you don't have to use them if you want all your meals at the hotel. The vouchers are for a 3 course meal and a drink and each one is worth over €17 each. There is too much food with the 3 courses and we have big appetites. You also get your tickets for the theme park included. It's a 5 minute walk to the theme park or you can use the free land train, so the location is excellent. The pool is large with a separate children's pool and plenty of sun beds. It took 15 minutes in a taxi from Reus airport and I pre paid for a return taxi with Sun Transfers who were excellent and cost about €64. The train station is about 5 minutes walk from the hotel where you can go direct to Barcelona but we didn't use it. At the entrance to the park, there's a hop on hop off land train which takes you all over the area. We paid €20 for all of us. There is a gym, indoor pool and spa. It's €10 to use and extra for treatments. We didn't use it but may have if the weather was bad. There is also a children's club for younger children. You are not allowed to take food or drink into the park so you either have to buy it all in the park or leave the park and walk 20 minutes into Salou and then back again so considering the cost of the entrance to the park, the food and drink vouchers, proximity to the park and all the food and drink at the hotel, we found it excellent value for money and would definitely recommend it for families.

Just returned from a weeks holiday at this hotel. We were a family of 4 kids who are 9 and 11 . Hotel was clean and of good standard . Rooms were basic but functional and clean as you would expect from a family hotel. Food standard was above average with a variety at different times during the day. All staff were helpful and friendly.

Pool staff were strict and this gave us extra reassurance. Would highly recommend this hotel in future.
It is a theme part hotel that provides both chill out time at the pool and less than 5 mins walk endless entertainment ...

We will be back ...

From reading previous reviews before going felt aprehensive about our decision to go there, however we did not experience any of the negatives mentioned. Quick check in straight to our clean room which was air conditioned with free safe. Found the food to be of great quality and quantity loved the Mediterranean night king prawns were delicious. Drinks were great too not watered down? Always managed even when had long lie to find sunbed with shade. Free access to the park 5 minute walk away which was superb, a must to go on shambala roller-coaster especially at night brilliant. Vouchers given for meals at park did not use all ours we got drinks with them when we had already eaten at the hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Free wifi too.Negatives yes entertainment basic but lots of shows in the park parrot show fantastic, and bar shutting at 11.30 when you felt like having a nightcap after being at fireworks in park that shuts at midnight. However all in all a fab holiday and hoping to return next year :)

Travelled with party of 5, 3 adults & 2 children aged 3 & 6.
Had 2 adjoining rooms on an all inc basis.

As said on previous reviews there were slotted times for breakfast which was not ideal when you are with young children. Saying that the food was very good for all inc, plenty choices for adults and children.

Rooms are basic but clean and tidy, all you require as you only use room for showering and sleeping.

Free, good wifi thru out the hotel.

The kids loved the pool area with pirate ship which kept them playing around with other kids all day.
Kids also loved the Theme & Aqua park, not much queues for either as they only went on kids flumes and rides.
The parade and fireworks at the theme park are very good.

Would definitely go back to this hotel. Cant understand the bad reviews.
