“Perfect!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2012

We booked this as it was centrally located and really cheap! When I came across the reviews on this site I was quite worried but I have to say, it was perfect. It seems that the apartments are privately owned and managed by an agency who were extremly nice and helpful. The apartment was clean and spacious enough for us - there were just 2 of us. While the local hotel across the road was quite loud until about 11.30pm the apartment block was quiet.
It is located close to everything. You can hire a safe for €25 for the week and you get €10 of that back. We paid a €50 per person deposit upon check in which we were aware of (we actually thought it should have been €100 per person) We paid this in cash which meant we needed to wait when we checked out while someone made sure that we had left the apartment in good condition. You are required to leave the apartment in the same condition as when you entered it - I saw quite a few people complaining about this online however I don't see why this is a problem! It only involves cleaning down a few surfaces and washing the floor!!!
I enjoyed my week in Salou and having a quiet, clean and safe apartment was definitely a contributing factor to this. I would highly recommend staying here but I will remind people that when you are paying €250 for accomodation for 1 week - stop expecting The Ritz!!! As long as it's clean and safe what more do you need!?

booked this apartment thru lowcostholidays.com and got a discount ,we have stayed here before on 3rd floor and now on 5th floor. This apartment was fairly clean and had a washing machine, chair that doubled as a single bed,a sofa that turned into a double bed and plenty of chairs and tables to dine on. Its true they are basic but its a base for your hols, close to beach, pubs, shops and easy access to buses. We have informed the agents at the Brissol offices about damages or stuff missing etc and they have sorted it straight away. We would stay at these apartments again.

Room Tip: Always asked for low floors but do find them noisy

Stayed at other budget accommodation around Spain this was the first we have stayed at which did not have a TV or kettle. We had to mop the floor on arrival as it was filthy.apart from this in a good location.First time in Salou will def. be going back.

I just got back from a 3day holiday and I'm looking forward to planning when to go next !!! We went on a budget holiday which is why we chose these apartments. They were clean and close to everything!! The supermarket was right underneath, the shops where only 2 minutes away, the lovely sandy beaches were just down the road... not to mention how easy it is to go clubbing !! Taxis are approx 30.00Eur (between 5pax and depending on where you're going) Portaventura and Aquopolis Park are just 15minutes away by bus (Eur 1.50) I would recommend to everyone from couples, to groups of friends to families with children !!!

Me and my boyfriend just got back from a week in salou where we stayed at the zahara. The apartments were good value for money, everything you needed fridge, iron, balconay, big lounge & separate kitchen, twin beds and bathroom. The room was clean, spare sheets, shower was a bit dodgy at times although the weather was so hot we looked forward to a cold shower. Perfect location to the beach and close to the nightclubs, although if your not for the party scene I'd recommend you stay a bit further out. What they failed to tell us is we had to pay £100 deposit on check in, which we never got back as we had an early flight and the reception didn't open til 9! Good holiday though overall, its what you make it :)

We went to Salou for a week on holiday and while Salou is lovely, the Zahara apartments are not. We had to queue to pick up keys to our apartment across the road at the Brisasol office on Friday night, only to discover when we arrived on the 3rd floor that the lock on the apartment door was broken and we couldn't get in. So we went back to the office and jumped the queue (resulting in much consternation from the largely Spanish queuers) and were given keys to another apartment, this time on the 1st floor. There was no air conditioning in this apartment, no double bed, no TV (all of which were specified when we booked). There was a cupboard in the entrance hall that had a drop-down bed in it, which was quite bizarre, so this apartment slept 5; 1 in the entrance hall, 2 in the bedroom and maybe 2 on the sofa bed in the living room. There were ash trays, although thankfully it didn't smell like a smoking apartment. This resulted in another trip across the read to the office for a 3rd time to complain, only to be told to push the beds together and that none of the apartments in Zahara had AC, that was all they had and to phone our travel agent if we wanted to make a complaint. So we phoned the UK agent in the morning to confirm that we booked an apartment with AC. They confirmed on the spot that we did, and would call the Spanish agent and get back to us. We got a call later that afternoon and they told us to go back to the Brisasol office and ask for another apartment with AC. On Saturday night we saw a different guy in the Brisasol office, who told us to come back on Monday morning when there would be an apartment available as they were full for the weekend. The single beds we slept on the first night were so uncomfortable that neither of us slept very well and woke up with back ache. On inspection we found that the beds had metal frames with wooden slats and a very thin mattress. So we added the mattresses from the sofa bed in the living room, and slept on 2 mattresses each for the next 2 nights, which lessened our pain somewhat.

On Monday morning we went back to the office, and were given the keys to an apartment next door to the one with the broken lock and although it had AC (despite what the guy in the office said on Friday night about none of the apartments in Zahara having AC) there was no double bed. The AC was the important thing (as the temperature was set to rise over the next few days) so we agreed to push the single beds together and make do. Fortunately the mattresses on these beds were thicker, although I must say that neither of us had a decent night's sleep until we got back home. There was a TV (a small portable) but we later discovered that there was picture but no sound, so that was pretty much useless. The AC turned out to be a waste of time, as it never worked properly; my desk fan is more powerful! It had a key and wouldn't operate without it, or if the balcony doors were open. There was a notice on the controls telling you not to alter the settings. "Please don't touch the central box of the air conditioner. Only press the on/off button." What's the point in having AC, if you can't alter the temperature to your liking? Fortunately for us the forecasted high temperatures were never reached so we managed to survive at night with the window open, although we were often woken up by noisy passers by or the garbage trucks emptying the bins in the early hours of the morning.

Thankfully we spent so little time in the apartment, that its shortcomings did not manage to spoil our holiday. The only positive thing I can say about it is that the location is great, barely a 10 minute walk to the beach, with several supermarkets nearby as well as plenty of restaurants, pubs and shops. In summary this apartment is fine if you're on a budget, are young and don't care what you sleep on.
