We stayed at Los Peces Sat 7th to Sat 14th July 2012. We booked this holiday last minute so didn’t have a lot of apartments to choose from, we choose Los Peces because of the central location and it was close to Port Aventura, the other thing we really wanted was air-conditioning and wouldn’t have chosen Los Peces if it was not stated in the description. I will be honest I did read some of the reviews but thought surely it can’t be that bad. There were 7 adults in our group aged from 19 to 48, we booked a one bedroom apartment (sleeps 4) and a 2 bedroom apartment (sleeps 6.) On arrival at the apartments the reception area was a little mayhem with around 15 people waiting to be assisted. We waited for about 30mins before we were seen to, I handed over all my documentation only to be told there was only one apartment booked for us even though I had confirmation we had booked two. They did not have a one bedroom apartment available so gave us two 2 bed apartments numbers (115) and (203) which was just as well because the sofa beds didn’t look the best.
One of our apartments (115) faced onto a side street where we were met with a lovely view of the tin roof of the shop below, this tin roof was covered in rubbish, surely Los Peces should try and clean this. On the first day the electric kept tripping, we got this looked at and hoped the problem was rectified, however when we woke the next morning the electric was off again, resulting in the food in our fridge being ruined, we waited 7 hours for someone to come and check the electric again, it was the result of a faulty boiler which then had to be disconnected resulting in no hot water for us, however a new boiler was installed on the 3rd day.
The air condition in 203 did not work, it was stuck on 25 degrees, we informed reception someone did come to look at it, however they couldn’t fix it and said it would be 2 days before it could be looked at. It was unbearable to sleep in so we mentioned it again to reception, they then moved us to another apartment (206) unfortunately it was exactly the same the air condition stuck at 25 degrees, not only that (206) the patio doors didn't even lock, we were so fed up complaining about the air condition that we couldn't face going back to reception so ended up having to wedge 2 chairs at the patio doors to prevent anyone from entering.
The majority of people staying at the Los Peces are groups of young people who party all night and run from apartment to apartment making as much noise as possible, banging doors, shouting, singing if you want to sleep between the hours of 11pm and 9am you have no chance.
All in all we did enjoy our time in Salou and the location of the Los Peces you can’t fault, but management really need to get their act together and check all apartments are in working order before renting out, plus if you are a family with young children or aged over 30 these aren’t the apartments for you.

We stayed at this apartment complex just before the start of the summer season and were really disappointed with what we found when we walked through the door. We are a travelling couple and were given a two bedroom apartment with single beds in each. The beds are like concrete, I'm not usually too picky but these were atrocious, the pillows are no better in fact we both came away with sore necks and hardly any sleep however this may have had something to do with the fact the promised air conditioning in the room was stuck on 30 degrees and the street noise was rediculous. We went to the front desk on the first day we were there to report the broken aircon and the fact that our fridge was not cooling and leaking all over the floor, we were told that someone would come up and fix it, but no one ever did. Also the balcony we had which was on the 6th floor was slanted dangerously to the point we didn't even feel comfortable standing on it as the railings were also wobbling. To top it off, there was an obvious ant problem. If we hadn't of prepaid I would have paid a little bit extra to stay ANYWHERE else.

Room Tip: Pick somewhere else to stay, if you must stay here, ask for a room away from the main street and all...

why is there such negative reviews on this hotel.. we had a great 5 nights stay at the apartments. great location to all shops and bars/restaurants. great size swimming pool with snack bar , only 5 mins to beach.
staff very friendly and helpful. very clean will be staying here again.. only thing they don't give u is towels only hand towels so note that u will need bath towels.

My partner and i was moved to here from the Royal Apartments due to being broken into twice! I was actually worried about going into another apartment but was very surprised to see that it was lovely! rooms were very big, and lovely and quiet. cant believe the bad reviews on here, we had no trouble at all. but over all i generally think Salou has a BIG problem with burglary, as ive been to salou numerous times before, and this is not the first time we have been burgled :( so if you do decide to travel to Salou please stay in a hotel for your own safety and peace of mind.

My Husband has stayed at Los Peces 3 times on holiday with the lads. The apartments were fine for a lads holiday as they were just looking for somewhere to sleep and they were very central. On the first trip two mobile phones disappeared from the room , they suspected the cleaners and reported it but nothing was done as it couldnt be proved if they had been lost while drunk or had been stolen. They returned a year later and everything was fine so they put it down to one off and returned a third time. On the third visit an ipod touch was stolen so they've finally learnt their lesson and swore never to return to Los Peces but will definitely go back to Salou. Judging by the previous review burglaries are common place at Los Peces , this could be due to the fact that you only get one room key so my Husband and the lads got spare keys cut and he now has three keys to apartments there , theres nothing to say others aren't doing the same and getting into your room.

most awful experience ever in my life, place is nothing like the photo first and foremost, Salou is okay but I didn't encounter 1 spanish person while there. Worst of all was we stayed for 2 nights, on our second night we woke at 3.30 am to hear noises in our living room, a man was ransacking our room after gaining access 3 storeys up. He easily opened the totally inadaquate lock on the patio door and took over €1.5k of belongings and cash packed to leave for our plane only one hour after. he came to the door of our room and we went absolutely crazy, he jumped monkey like from our balcony to the next and down the bottom balconies away. This is a regular thing according to cleaning staff. When I informed the reception their attitude was, well what would you like us to do abou it!!!!!!! I warn you now, do not use this hotel.

Got home today.. Was meant to stay at Brissasol Slaou Pacific but when arrived and taxi left we found a note on the door saying they were closed and we were being moved to another hotel ! The note gave a number of brissasol main office (from which to pick up keys) which we tried to contact but no joy. In the middle of no where, couldnt find a taxi so went down the road to cafe who kindly rang a taxi for us, cost us another 10 euro. When we got to los peces really pissed off, never got an appology just told that a lot of hotels are not ready to open yet DONT BOOK AND TAKE PEOPLES MONEY IF YOU KNOW YOUR NOT GOING TO BE OPEN !!! the receptionist said she would waver the deposit for us, Thanks for nothing its our money anyway !! no favours...
The hotel was ok for a budget hotel, wouldnt have paid anymore for the upgrade!
Very noisy (out of season) due to hen and stag dos
