Having booked and then read some appalling reviews just before we travelled I was nervous about our stay at the Royal Apartments but I can honestly say this is a value for money option.
The apartment itself was a one bedroom apartment that sleeps 4. The room contained a twin bed, with sofa bed in living room. The living room was open plan into kitchen, which was well equipped with full electric hob, grill and oven, fridge and freezer. The only upgrading required in these areas was the curtains which were showing signs of wear and tear. There was a brand new 42" Flat screen TV in living room too with a variety of channels. The balcony was really big and secure from other apartments.
The bathroom required some upgrading and unfortunately there is a frequent sewer smell. They really do need to sort this out as it is very strong and pungent at times. We partly countered it by placing all the plugs in the holes and ensuring the toliet seat was always down and always having the door closed so it was not detectable in other areas.
The apartments are very well located for the beach which is just a short walk away, as is the main strip. There is a large pool with sunbeds to the rear of the property.

Unfortunately the check in experience was extremely poor. Arriving late at night it was quite difficult to find where to go to pick up the key. The hotel policies are that every person staying must pay a 50 euro deposit. However, in the booking policy through the provider (booking.com) it clearly stated that a 50 euro deposit was required, not 50 euro per person. I challenged this and the receptionist said " This is lies" to which I produced the booking terms and conditions. He then said "booking.com lies" and gave me the option of either and forking out the money or not getting the keys. I was forced to hand over my credit card and promptly phoned booking.com who dealt with the matter. The attitude at checking in and out was poor.and really lets brisasol down. They also changed the check out time from 11am to 10am so beware!
The other drawback for the property is it's location on a very busy street and roundabout. Traffic noise is audible all night, as are the revellers and music from the nightclub next door which does not close til 7am. Do not expect uninterrupted sleep, as if it's hot you have no option but to leave your doors open to keep the temperature in the room comfortable.
Overall, a fairly decent place to stay given the budget, well...More
