“very nice holiday”
Reviewed August 12, 2014

cant understand why people write bad reviews about this place, 11 nights all inclusive, staff friendly and welcoming, food excellent, pools great, life guard always there to help out, plenty of sun beds even though the brits were using fire escape early morning before pool area opened to reserve their beds.only fault we had was ignorant people at the bar mostly british who dont know how to queue. plenty of activities all day for kids and adults, all in all enjoyable holiday.a visit to the camp nou and barcelona is well worth a visit, TIP dont pay the 57 euros with u book with plana bus tours 35 euros for exact same trip and a bonus stop off at the olympic stadium

In Juni '14 1st time Salou. Had expected more of it. The hotel was okay, it was clean and the staff was friendly. We had a problem with the locker in our room but it was fixed very fast. The food was good. The animation in the hotel in the evening could be better, the bar was closed early. The WIFI service could be better 2.

Just returned from a week at this hotel, could not fault it at all. The food is excellent we were HB as we prefer to get out and about, lots of choice at breakfast and in the evening. The staff do a great job to keep tables free and clean, some people though are plain greedy going back for 6 and 7 plate fulls ( mainly Russians ). It is unbelievable watching them!
There are fresh made omelettes every morning and a carvery in the evening. The bar is clean and well serviced prices are also very reasonable, we only used the bar a few times, some people seemed to spend all evening there the entertainment is inside so it gets a bit stuffy. The bar snacks are huge and excellent value for money.
Our room was clean with fresh towels every day and a plentiful supply of shampoo and shower gel, just ask if you run out i did and got given plenty. There is a small fridge and a kettle i took my own tea and coffee but they are provided. Our room was to the side and too be honest it was fine we got the sun in the morning an it was cooler later on, we were not overlooked and got no noise at night perfect.
The pool is nice but I can not believe that people Queue up from 7 for the doors to open so they can grab the ideal spot. We did use the pool and just took pot luck and were able top get good pots. The lifeguard is very attentive and keeps both pools under control very well. There is a spa and i was shown round looked great but we ran out of time.
We visited Port Aventura, Aquopolis and did a catamaran trip from Cambrills. We either jumped on the bus or the Noddy train and made our own way everywhere. The Noddy train is great and you can do a round trip that takes about an hour, you get to see lovely bays and other areas.
The Thomson rep was good my Mum and Dad struggled at the airport with the distance and she arranged for them to be transported to the plane coming home all went smoothly. Can not comment on the animation team as we just tended to miss them but those staying around seemed to enjoy the activities. Hotel is a short walk from main shops and Fountains, the only downside is the tiled pavements are quite badly damaged in parts and the locals don't believe in poop scoops, so walking in the dark was double jeopardy!! The resort is very cosmopolitan with French, Dutch, Brits, Spanish and Russians, the shop keepers have a dislike of the Russians so they do like the rest of us going in. Lot's of shops offering discount's on already reasonable prices. This was our second time in Salou and we will be happy to go again.

Room Tip: If you like a quit room ask for the side view.

We stayed here last week in a family group of 14. As soon as we arrived we had to pay "tourist tax"! Which was 14 euros. There had been no mention of this when booking with Thompson! And I have never heard of tourist tax before, the resort should be grateful of the amount of money holiday makers bring without charging extra tax as soon as you check in.

We paid a fortune for this holiday and I don't think the hotel was anywhere near worth it! Our room was very basic, the balcony door was broken and the air conditioning was leaking , Which we reported 3 times during our stay and it was never fixed. The air conditioning unit in the entrance to the hotel was also leaking and also in the restaurant so I think the whole system needs looking at, and I'm pretty sure that it can be dangerous? Our room also had a funny smell which I'm assuming was from the faulty air con unit!

The food was okay in the restaurant, although not much vegetarian choice and it wasn't clearly labelled either.

The pool area was a bit dirty and the indoor pool, Jacuzzis and outdoor jacuzzis were filthy, I wouldn't use them, they need completly replaced or cleaned properly. None of the equipment worked in the gym!

The entertainment was boring with the same kids songs over and over every night. The bar area was not practical and you couldn't see for pillars in the way depending on where you sat.

Some of the staff were really helpful and nice, others were miserable and grumpy! We only went for a week whilst the rest of our group are still there, I'm glad we only had a week in the hotel because I couldn't do another one!

Wouldn't go back there! I can't believe the price Thompson charge customers to stay in this hotel! It's not worth it and it certainly isn't 4 star!!

This hotel is well worth a visit. The facilities are excellent and the cleanliness is top notch. The food options over dinner are very good, however I would have liked some extra vegetable options. The staff were very good with us as a family, and even helped to feed my 16mth old daughter when she wasn't eating for us! Our room was right above the entertainment area, which made it quite noisy. As for the resort, parts of Salou are looking a bit dated. It is a bit of a walk to the beach from the hotel, about 15 minutes. One downside is that the pavements around the hotel are very poor. If you are elderly or in a wheelchair, it is well worth taking extra care. We found it difficulty in parts with the buggy. We would go again to the hotel.

Room Tip: The front of the hotel is on a busy room, but the back has the entertainment. Take your pick!

We had a fab stay at this hotel. We had a 7day pass for portaventura the hotel would give us a picnic because we would miss dinner. My son turned 10 2 days after we arrived seen they done birthday cakes when and asked how much f.o.c. It was lovely made him feel special. Quite central to shops bars beach. Beach front lovely. Hotel food was great they work very hard. Not much choice for fussy kids thou. The hotel is clean and tidy but very dated, the air con in our room wasn't very good. We were on top floor which as larger balconies with sun loungers. The bathroom as been done and looks fab. Rooms are abit dated and didn't real feel safe on the balcony due to floor subsiding. Staff lovely. Cleaners work hard room cleaned every day. Entertainment good especially for kids throughout the day. My son played football and made loads of friends at this hotel from various countries. We also went to nou camp stadium tour fab day out. Overall one of our best holidays.

Room Tip: Top floors have bigger balcony with sun loungers
