“Ideal location for Port Adventure, VERY Clean, Food was good.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2011

I recently went to this hotel and read almost every review on trip advisor about the Hotel.

When we got there we had to wait till 12 as the room was not ready but did not wait that long as we only got there about 11ish. First impression on the hotel, looks very nice and fancy. And very Clean, I was impressed as my expectations of the Hotel was that it was not going to be that good.
The room was very nice, LCD tv, bathroom was good, the view from the room was not brilliant as the view we could see the Hotel next door building but to the left was a view of the town so not too bad. On the nights I found it was abit noisy from people outside and in the other Hotels but normally was quiet by about 12ish on the night.
I found that’s the walls seemed abit thin as you could here next door guest some times and kids running down the hall ways to but you can get that with any Hotel.
The maid was very good and after a days out our beds were always done and new towels in the bathroom.
Watched out for the balcony doors as they take some practice to lock.
The staff in the hotel was friendly some seemed abit moody (Hotel restaurant) but 90% of them was friendly enough.
Only bad point about the Food at the Hotel is you get eating times and if you turn up late and go over you can feel abit rushed by the staff as your table will be in use by other guests but we found that if you got there on time in the set hours you didn’t feel rushed.
Food was very good and tasty but found after a few days you would want to try some local restaurant to grab something different.
Didn’t really see the Hotel entertainment on the night as there were many places to go to on the night, waterfalls, clubs, bars.
E.g. House of illusions is worth checking out seems pricy but worth it as all you can drink between the times on the entertainment 10pm-12pm ideal as it is only 2 roads away from the Hotel.
Also if you have the weather try out Downhill Biking, it also seems pricy BUT we worked out that hiring a bike and getting to the locations would have cost more. The guys there are really friendly and good fun, a couple we meet who were older we told them about it and they did it after are recommendation. We did the morning session last from about 9am-1pm.
I found at the Hotel in the morning people HOG the sun beds outside at the main Pool, and leave their towels there. But the pools are very nice but can get crowded.
In the hotel we found you end up going up and down the stairs all the time as waiting for the lift takes awhile and you might as well use the stairs.
Location of the Hotel is great, about 150 meters from the beach (if that), about 200 yards from the clubs, shops and bars. Ideal also if you are planning to go to Port Adventure the bus stop is down the hill, turn right threw the restaurants before the tattoo place and then on the other side of the road to the left outside the tobacconist shop its about a 10 mins bus journey. Or we worked out its maybe about a 20 – 30 mins walk as most of the bus journey you go around the park lol.
There is a entrance at the bottom of the hill where the Hotel is, you can enter the hotel using you door card which is handy too!
Hotel Las Vegas is a ideal hotel to go to, we found when we went there was a lot of older people there as we are a young couple in our 20s. I would recommend this Hotel to go to if you’re planning to go to Salou. If we plan to go back in the next few years I would stay there again. For our couple holiday away and not really knowing the language much, many of the staff at the Hotel speak English and out of the Hotel.
I have read over and over the reviews of the Hotel from other people and form the majority of them you will find that most of what I have added they would of said. There is much to do there but we would recommend House of Illusions and Downhill biking and Port Adventure. The 007 bar we missed but I here good things as after a week trying to cram everything in and relax we couldn’t. Sadly prices for drinks can be abit pricy for a beer and a alco pop can be about 7 euros but I’m sure there are bars cheaper if you search.
Good points- Food was good, location is ideal, hotel is very clean.
Bad points – Feel abit rushed when eating some times, guest hog the pool area.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back abit noisy from Hotel next door

Ok... I think I must start off by admitting I have some OCD and a clean room / bed are always a worry when im staying away... not here. This hotel way passed my expectations in terms of cleanliness. I asked for a room on a high floor, over looking the pool, which we got. The room was modern and super clean. Even i couldn't find a fault with it!. The beds were made each mother by the maid service to a very high standard. I would also push for a room at the front of the hotel however... as the rear faces onto some noisy looking apartments which appeared to be occupied by many Spanish teens!. The hotel trys to put all its English guests on the earlier dinner sitting of 7pm - and most of its Russian guests on the 9pm sitting. You have the same table each evening for food.

I found each day that there was something to eat for dinner, it never got boring and for a change, there was not "chicken nuggets" every evening like found in most Spanish hotels!. Its worth noting that English people to not fill the hotel. I would say the majoirty of guests are Dutch or German with Russain and English making up the numbers. This however makes a refreeshing change. The hotel is close to the beech and all the surrounding bars without keeping you awake with the noise!. The hotels entertainment lets it down somewhat... with most like entertainment not starting until 1030/11pm... but this is a minor issue. The staff and particular bar staff were fun, often catching them dancing too live music with a tray of drinks!. This hotel has recently gained its 4th star and in my opinion deserves it totally!.

If you're looking for a holiday away surronded by 90% loud brits diving into pools and eating chips for breakfast... this hotel is NOT for you!

If you're looking for a classy, marble floored, spottless cleaned hotel, with attentive staff and fabolous location then this is for you. Its a matter of time before this hotel gets put into the Thomson Platinum / Thomas Cook Signature hotel brochure... get a trip here asap!.

We have just returned from 2 weeks at Hotel Las Vegas. This hotel is amazing. I really do not understand why people have left bad reviews at all! The hotel is on a hill but the key for your room lets you in at the entrance at the bottom of the hill. The rooms are lovely and clean and there is maid service every single day. There is a fridge in the room and also a safe and you have to pay for both. The fridge in our room was not plugged in when we arrived and having read reviews before we left I knew fine well there was a charge for the fridge. However on the second week we managed to open our fridge by lifting the top bit of plastic...we were not charged for this like others have said they were. The hotel itself is lovely. It is cleaned from top to bottom every single day. The reception staff, bar staff and restaurant staff are all very kind and friendly. There are 3 pools at this hotel. The main pool has roughly 50-60 sunbeds but these go really quickly so make sure you have towels on them at 9 o clock when the pool is opened! We left towels on sunbeds while we went out most days for lunch etc and our towels were never removed. The food in the restaurant is very varied & really tasty. Breakfast - fried breakfast, cereals, toasts, pastries, fruit etc. Evening meal - salads, pastas, meat dishes, a huge variety of desserts, seafood...there is something to suit everybody! There is no daytime entertainment at the hotel as advertised but there is evening entertainment which was quite good. If you have a room at the back of the hotel there is a hotel opposite full of Spanish teenagers who are noisy but you do get used to the noise! We were never kept awake by the noise or by any nightclubs.

Salou itself is very nice. If you walk down to the old part of Salou there are fountains and there is a really good fountain show every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night at 10. The restaurants on the front just down from the hotel are really nice. Would recommend LaSal for food, entertainment & drinks. There is a cocktail show on there every night at 11 which is spectacular. Obviously a trip to Port Aventura is a must when in Salou!

Overall this is a fantastic hotel and we would definitely return!!!

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have a pool & sea view.

We have just returned from our 4th stay at this hotel and its as good as it has ever been. Excellent location, great pool, decent food and very clean.
Some have mentioned the noise, but we find that to be ubusual. There are some clubs nearby but the disturbance is minimal and you are really only aware of it you are in a rear room looking up the hill and sleep with the balcony doors open.
The hotel next door can be a bit "lively" but the Las Vegas reception had no problem in moving us when we asked after the first night. The first two weeks in june are traditional the Spanish kids school trips fortnight so there are bus loads in many of the hotels at this time. next door seems to thrive on these.
If going, and want a rest from the restaurant (which is excellent) pop across the road (up the hill) to the Guinness Tavern.
Two Criticisms though:
1. There seems to be a new air con policy for 2011 and it was uncomfortably hot at night.
2. So many very rude eastern europeans, even the staff are not too keen on them.

my wife and i have just returned from a 12 day holiday at the hotel, we both had bad stomachs all the time we were there,we think they have a scam with the fridges, when you get to your room the fridge is pluged in and open so you use it,the day before you leave you get a bill.no day time activities when there should have been, evening entertainment very poor. showers in the room are warm then suddenly go boiling hot, food very average, night clubs all round very noisy, at the back of the hotel an apartment block full of young spainish drinking on balconys all night very very noisy, police called 3 times but made no difference, first we ever wanted to come home from holiday.

If you are going on a family holiday, do not go to this hotel, it is surrounded by night clubs and you are kept awake till they close at 6am in the morning. we had over 200 spanish young people singing/shouting on the street we thought it was a riot. The pavements outside a full of sick everywhere that never gets cleaned. The wardrobes on the hotel make your clothes smell of damp. The hotel claims to have entertainment in the day, we spent a week waiting for this to happen it never did appear and the entertainment at night is terrble. They have 60 sunbeds and over 200 rooms....so if you want to get one forget it unless you sit on one all night and if you leave it they remove your towels...so you cant go and get a drink or something to eat. The life guard doenst like to get splashed,,,think he needs a different job. my parents also spent the week in this hotel and were ill until they arrived home aswell as myself and my family....food is not good. My son bought the wifi for his ipod for 24hrs, this is great if you want to sit in reception for the full 24hrs cause it doesnt work anywhere else in the hotel. the back of the hotel is next to apartments Al Munso Playa that is full of spanish teenagers who are very loud till 5am so sleep in this hotel is not an option. Beware there is also a financial con going on at this hotel. When we arrived in our room the fridge was switched on and unlocked so we thought that it was complimentary and we bought drinks and chocholate and placed it in the fridge. 2 days before we left along with many other customers we were asked to attend Reception and was told that the daily cleaners had been checking and even if you place items into the fridge without it being on you still have to pay 3 euro's per day. We decided that we were not going to pay and completed an official complaint and was told that the Manageress would reply the same day to resolve the issues we had reason to complain about, despite us attending Reception on over 20 ocassions requesting to see the Manageress she never did appear and she never replied to our complaint which was supposed to be submitted to the goverment dept of tourism and returned to us. Upon our departure I was told that I did not have to pay the invoice but I know most did. There is a considerable amount of lack of information, deciept, dishonesty at this hotel. My advice after going to Salou for the past 6 consequtive years is that Salou is in a steady decline and stay away from this Hotel.

Room Tip: Do not get a room at the back of the hotel

Lovely hotel, very clean and tidy, situated on a hill, but not a problem - your room key opened the gate at the bottom of the hill which lead out to the main road. Great choice of pools, food excellant, bar service great and all staff very friendly and helpful. Fridge in room for hire, but key for balcony door unlocked it. We didn't bother paying for safe either - we just locked valuables in our suitcase. Maid service every day. Only problem we had was it was full of Germans, who were very ignorant!
