We were ment to be staying at Hotel Best San Diego however on arrival we were moved to this hotel! The Best san diego made us walk to this hotel with all our luggage and hand luggage! Although it was only round the corner! It wasnt the point! The hotel looked ok from the outside however the balconys looked horrible! It looked dirty! A really big dissapointment! The food was a big zero! It was terrible! We actually had to go to the restraund and takeaway UNCLE SAMS and occasionally Burger king! That was probably the highlight of the holiday.... Getting out the hotel! And whoever rated the hotel as livley was lying... It was dead, nobody spoke a word of english, even the reception really couldnt understand my clear english accent! There was no wifi on arrival! And the biggest concern was that the pool DID NOT get cleaned within our 2 weeks stay at the Hotel '''BEST''' Mediterreaneo! I highly reccommend NOT STAYING HERE IF YOU AR FROM GREAT BRITIAN

Went as a family of 2 adults and 2 kids for 2 weeks, half board. This is in a good location at the Cap Salou end of Salou, and there is a choice of three beaches within a five minutes walk. Also the House of Illusion is an excellent magic/comedy show in English just around the corner. There is a bus from the airport (€7 pp single) that drops you to the stop 50 metres down the road at the corner of Buigas and Vendrell streets. Buses also go from here to Portaventura and to La Pineda beach where Aquapolis is located, but both of these are only a half hour walk anyway.
The hotel gets in some entertainment each night, set outdoors at the poolside bar, but unfortunately they blast out Russian music afterwards from two huge speakers until midnight. After that, there is shouting, chanting and car horn noise coming from the bars further down the road at Buigas street. If they installed double glazing to cut down the noise I'd give an extra star rating. Hotel is very clean, with a nice pool area. Air-con was not live when we were there as temperatures were not too hot at the time; in the mid twenties.
The buffet food is plentiful and there is a big selection, though not always as tasty as it looks. We preferred to eat from the grill, where the cheerful chef cooks fresh food to order on a hotplate. Plainer than the buffet but fresh, tasty and hot.
The clientele is largely Russian, but the staff only understand Spanish and English, apart from the (kids) entertainment person who is a Russian. We enjoyed the international mix of people. Just remember to pack some earplugs.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool are sunny but noisy at night. Other rooms may, or may not, be quieter.

Overall not a bad hotel but the food was monotonous, seldom hot (although there was a microwave) and using a needle to play bingo was a bit weird. Rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. If you're not too picky about food then this hotel is ideal.

Stayed at the Best Mediterreaneo at the end of April for a week on a room only basis. All the hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly. It was very clean and tidy, our room was cleaned and the bed was made everyday. The hotel has a lovely pool with the sun shining on it for the majority of the day. It is in a great location just at the end of the town near all the shops, pubs & restaurants, bus stops, and a 10 minute walk from the beach. I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone who is looking for a very good basic and centrally located hotel.

just returned from staying for a 5 night break in the Mediterraneo. We only went room only as having stayed there before, we decided not to eat there as like most of the hotels in mainland spain it wasn't to our liking. The hotel is quiet, in a good location near shops, bars/restaurants & not too close to the centre as as we are in our 40s, we try to stay away from the younger tourists. The hotel is very clean, staff are pleasant & helpful & the rooms although not the biggest in the world, are more than adequate for putting your head down at night. There is entertainment every night, although during our dates it was aimed at the elderly spanish clients who were staying there. The rooms are very clean & domestic staff very friendly. Can i advise anyone who hasn't been to salou for a while;(3 years for me) there was a Catalan tax charged to us upon arrival at the hotel which I wasn't aware of. This was 5 euro for both of us but i would like to have been informed of this at the time of booking with the internet web site. I would recommend this hotel to any travellers who just want clean basic accommodation with everything at their doorstep.

First the good points hotel is spotless and cleaners always busy and changed towels and made beds daily.food is buffet style and very average plenty salads etc but not a big choice of hot dishes which were only sometimes warm.

Bad points if you are British you are generally ignored or served last and treated like a second class citizen. Reception staff were so frosty I thought it was Christmas! We were all inclusive which is local drinks beer, spirits, wine which were quite good when you could find a member of staff to serve you! Nice clean hotel spoiled by staff who do everything for the Spanish / Russians / Germans and ignore the British .Watch out for the the manager at meal times although you have an all inclusive wrist band on you get interrogated if you don't have your room card!! I have been to salou 6 times in 10 years and never been treated like this I made the mistake of not booking the villa romana or salauris palace where I have stayed previously without any issues. I really enjoy coming to salou but will not return to this hotel again.
