Stayed from 11th June for a week.
The Playa Park is a decent hotel, rooms are smallish but adequate, cleaned everyday and left spotless. New towels every day, but linen not changed in a week.
Pool is freezing cold, and shaded in the morning and also in the early evening.
The Playa Park is in a decent hotel, the hill down to the main resort isn't as bad as I'd expected, and the hotel is nicely situated so is close enough to the resort centre but not noisy.

The closest beach to the hotel is Platja Llarga, which is a nice beach, the main beaches are packed at the weekends!

Many different nationalities in the hotel. Some of the other guests are very rude!

All in all, a nice holiday. From looking at other hotels in the area, I'd say this one looked the best!

This was my second visit to the hotel. I got stuck without a flight and the hotel immediately put me up without hesitation. Hotel was always clean, rooms cleaned regularly. All Staff are very friendly! Beach 2 minutes away from hotel. Only downfall is that the main pool is not in the sunlight until about 2pm. Happy hour is 4-5pm. Buffet had a huge selection of food although breakfast can be a little repetitive although there is plenty to choose from. I would recommend this hotel to everyone!

We stayed with our almost 3 yr old. Not very busy in hotel so entertainment for her was slim. The pool was cool and is shaded until 12 or so, but other pools in other hotels did not seem to be in use either. Must be too early in the season. Beautiful beach just beside hotel and lovely walk down gradual hill up. The food was as good as we could find in all of Salou. As it was buffet and you can eat all you want, we cleared our own tables between courses. Personally I did not have a problem with that. The staff were very nice to our daughter. Our room was cleaned every day with fresh towels every day. The hotel was very clean. The rooms may be a little dated but very clean. we are hoping to return in September. It is on a hill but was not a problem for us or the buggy. Bus stop outside the door.

We stayed at the Playa Park Hotel 29/5/2010 - 4/6/2010 and had a most enjoyable time. Location: approx 10 min walk to main shopping area and same to a lovely beach (via a steep walk down a hill!). Facilities: main swimming pool (depth: 4'6" - 6') in partial shade until
1200 Hrs: second (shallower) pool; table tennis table; games arcade and plenty of activities run by the entertainment team.
Evening entertainment every night (singer; juggler; magician; brazilian dancers; Flamenco dancers). Food plentiful and tasty - my only downside was that the catering staff brought refills out with too much food in the trays and it cooled down very quickly.
General tip: steer clear of being advised by travel agent to take a pre-loaded (euros) credit card "the modern way, better than Travellers Cheques". You can only obtain a balance on the card if you can get access to the Internet (both terminals in the hotel were out of order) and you are prevented from spending/withdrawing more than 200 Euros per day - pretty useless if you want to pay for a number of excursions for the family!
All in all, an excellent hotel.

Well we had a terrible ho;liday last yeat to the Club Pineta in Mamaris so this yaer we wanted one that was recomended to us.Some friends of ours have come to this hotel every year for the last three years so we booked. The rooms were very clean and tidy, the beds comfortable with a reasonable sized balcony. The only downside to this place is no fridge in the room and the air-con just doesn't work as well as it could.Right on the ood stuff-the food is great ( and I am really fussy!).Everywhere is clean and the maids are always mopping/sweeping.The staff really are a creit to the hotel as nothing is too much trouble.

Just got back from one week at Hotel Playa Park on a half board basis. The location is great - in a quieter area away from the centre of Salou but only 15 minutes walk away and well served by bus. There is a lovely beach 3 minutes walk away which is a bit quieter than the main beach in Salou. The area is very clean. The hotel is very clean and well looked after. Hotel and rooms are nicely decorated. The staff are friendly particularly those in the restaurant. We have to young children, the youngest only 5 months and found it to be very family friendly. The locals are great with children too. Food was excellent. The best thing we did was go half board. It saved us from going round Salou every night looking for somewhere to eat. The guests were of many nationalities including Spanish. Plenty of fellow Brits there as well but not too many that you feel like you haven't left home! Easy to get to Portaventura to by bus.

In 2008 we stayed at The Meditaranneo which is a little further down the hill from The Playa Park, we always used to walk past this hotel with envy, wishing we were there instead, so this year we decided to fulfil our dreams.
For the best part, the dreams came true, The Playa Park is a beautiful hotel, clean, very well located, attentive friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble.
The food was wonderfully well prepared and very varied, the menu wasn't repeated for the week we were there.

It's not all positive though, I'm afraid the hotel is undermined by a minority of very rowdy Brits, intent on making everyone's lives a misery, ignorant, foul mouthed youths and equally awful parents, no wonder the rest of Europe hate the British!
The swimming pool is absolutly freezing, the sea was far warmer.
The bar prices were quite high, a pint of San Miguel was 2.70 Euros, the bars a short walk down the road were generally charging between 1.50 and 2.00 Euros.
Cocktails, kids drinks and shorts were also very dear in comparison.

If I knew of anyone staying in Salou, I would recommend that they stay in Cambrils or La Pineda (north and South of Salou), such a shame really, because this hotel is very nice.
