“Recommend this hotel”
Reviewed September 8, 2012

Stayed at the Marinada for 10 nights with wife, son (12) and daughter (10) and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
It isn't predominantly british tourists staying in the hotel, in fact more Spanish and French people and if I had to find a gripe about this hotel, it is that the Spanish holidaymakers are more looked after around the bar and restaurant area's, however it wasn't that much of a problem and to be fair we preferred it to rowdiness of a predominantly British tourist hotel.
Those who work in the hotel are polite and helpful, though don't expect any of those who work on Reception to smile, because fair do's got the impression they didn't want to be there.
The hotel is spotless with the cleaners seemingly working 24/7.
The food was excellent, even my fussy eater of a daughter found loads to eat everyday. We went half board.
Entertainment for the kids was excellent, water zorbs, inflated slides and platforms brought in to the pool during the week, a crazy golf area, table tennis and pool tables and inside a games room.
We all stayed in one room, it was a little cramped but then again we chose this option when we could of chosen to order interconnecting rooms that are available.
Hotel situated just off the main straight and a 10 mins walk from the beach.
All in all I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel is perfect for a break in Salou... if you can deal with spending time in a 95% Spanish hotel! The hotel is booked up by the spanish and we saw very little english or infact other nationalities in the 3 days which we were there.

The rooms in the hotel are above average size and we had a balcony which looked over the hotel pool. The aircon worked well and the bathroom was of average quality.

We stayed half board and the breakfast and dinner were of good standard and in particular there was a evening tapas night, which was a particular highlight.

All the entertainment was in Spanish and this goes on late into the night. Music was played until midnight and could be heard in our room, and we were on the top floor.

Location is good, can walk easily into town and to portaventura. About 25 mins to the theme park. Lots of bars on the way to town and the main area of bars is just down the road.

For its price which we paid, would return again if looking to stay in Salou. This is a 4* hotel, just a spanish dominated one.

Room Tip: Floor 7 was fine

just returned from a week's holiday here with myself my partner and 2 children (5&1) made the bad mistake of staying in the hotel small room very cramped and noisey clean but no room atall.

The hotel itself is very clean pool is lovely but the mainly spanish guests are rude love to stare at you expecialy because we are a black british family very uncomptable indeed the kids club is in spanish so my daughter couldn't join in. we went half board the food is fair i always found something.
The receptionists are rude and loved to stare at us aswell the staff spoke little english.

I would not return to the hotel or Salou again as i felt all the holiday was ruiend by the spanish who love to stare at us and whisper like we were animals in a zoo very upsetting indeed :0(

Worst holiday of my life! The staff were ill mannered, aswell as the guests (the majority being Spanish). We (6 members of our family, sleeping in 3 different rooms what were kept awake) made a complant about the recurring noise coming from a room above and were spoken to (or should I say shouted at) like dirt. If I could mark this hotel 0/5 I would

The hotel is very clean and the service is really good, the receptionists can help you to plan whatever you want to do, even if most people in the hotel seem to be on some package holiday with everything arranged beforehand. The location is good, you can walk to the beach in 10 min and the main street (or its other end) is very close. The only downside was that there is some noice in the evening coming from the pool bars (from this hotel or from across the street), some evenings also karaoke, but everything ended by midnight. Don't miss Platja Llarga, the best beach in Salou in my opinion, far less crowded than others, but also some 15-20 min walk away from the hotel.

We just returned on Thursday 9th from 9 nights in both Hotel Marinada and the Apartment Marinada across the road, 14 of us travelled ranging in ages from 9 months to 62 and not one of us had one bad complaint, location is ideal to most things, beach is a small walk away and the main centre is also a small walk which is a good I think that you are not to close to the hustle and bustle of the centre, cleaners called every single morning to give us fresh towels and clean sheets if required and all us gave them something before we left as they were very nice. The swimming pool in the apartments is very small but just walk across the road to main hotel for a bigger pool with plenty of sun beds all at times. Enterainment at the apartments which includes Jim McCloskey is very good, at the hotel most of the entainment is in spainish but we didnt spend much time there. If travelling to Port Aventura Theme Park with small kids make sure they are over 1.3m high as they are very strict and we were turned away from alot of the rides which was disappointing as it is very expensive. Jacks on the same road as the Marinada is lovely for breakfast and the Guniness Tavern has the best dinner we got while there. Irish sports matches, Murphys is the place just a 5 mintue walk. to be honest we swtiched hotels twice before booking this place based on reviews and I must say we could not fault this place but I am sure some people will!
We are all going back again next year to this hotel.

Room Tip: Studio apartments are ok but a bit small with kids but they have some one bed apartments but you mus...

a very good quality 3* hotel in a great location.i would defo recommend the half board option as there was always something nice 2 eat&represented very good value for money.our double room was ample big for the pair of us&was visited daily by the maids who cleaned, made the beds&provided clean towels.we had a pool view which was pretty noisey from the evenings entertainment until nearly midnight but we were on hols so it wasnt a problem really.then again if u have a room @ the front of the hotel then you get the noise of some old crooner from the appartments opposite singing so the poolside may be the better option.overall we were very pleased with our stay in the hotel marinada&would defo recommend it 2 everybody!!! oh yes i nearly forgot, the air conditioning was superb&was like walking in 2 a fridge. :)

Room Tip: we had a poolside room on the second floor which was a bit noisey until nearly midnight so mayby a h...
