We spent ten days here at this hotel and although I had concerns about going half board anywhere I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised about this style of holiday. The hotel itself is far enough away from the beach and crowded areas to be that bit more open and quiet rather than be located in cramped streets teeming with vendors wanting you to eat at their restaurants or go to their clubs. Another reason for us picking this hotel was its close proximity to Port Aventura, and in truth even though the hotel has a free courtesy bus that will take you there and back the walk is only 15minutes door to door.
The hotel is kept very clean and the staff are overall very helpful and in particular the restaurant staff are very friendly and chatty. You can hire a safe (in the room) which you get from the reception for an additional charge, currently €15 per 7 days and €3 per single days and also remember the government tourist tax which for us was an additional €14 for the duration of the stay.
The food was simply great and the choice was huge. In the middle of the dining room are two huge food counters set up buffet style. One holds all the cold food and the other the hot food. There is also a grill station at the end of the room where the chef does 2 or 3 different dishes at every sitting and we couldn't find fault with any of them.
The rooms are basic but are very well kept and are air conditioned which is a nice relief to the hot days. We went with one child and he was given a fold out bed which was comfortable enough and not too intrusive, space wise, in the room, although we couldn't understand how a fourth person could be accommodated (the brochure for the hotel states max occupants per room as 4). The cleaners are in everyday, sweeping the floor, making beds, cleaning the bathrooms and giving fresh towels.
The pool is very nice, with one half shallow and the other deeper although not really much deeper than 5'6" ish at the deepest point. A bridge bisects the pool and is a short cut to the pool bar and is open from 10.30am to 7.30pm but a lot of people ignored this in the morning and would be using the pool from anytime after 9am. I got the feeling the curfew was more to do with having life guards rather than any other reason. There is also a small paddling pool for very young kids.
The courtesy bus will take you to Port Aventura and the beach at set times, but be warned the driver doesn't hang about if you are running late! Better to be slightly early or he will be away before you get there.
The entertainment was ok but went on till around 1am and if your room overlooks the pools like ours then it can be a wee bit noisy but not too bad. After a few days we got to know some of the entertainment staff and joined in with the activities if we were around the pool and it was a good laugh, archery, air rifle shooting, darts etc.
There is also a spa available and for us was included in the price, but we never used it as the weather was so good so cannot comment on it.
Overall the hotel was great and we really enjoyed our time there. We would really recommend it to anyone thinking of going to Salou and are looking for a decent place to stay.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the pools could be a bit noisier than rooms to the front.

All in all good 4* hotel.

I thought this hotel was fantastic! We stayed for a week (2/7/13-9/7/13) and loved it. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the staff were very friendly and the food was great.
We went half-board and both the breakfast and dinner buffets were good. There was a massive selection of foods. For breakfast there was a selection of cold meats, cereals, pastrys, bacon, eggs, potatoes and breads for toasting. For dinner, we enjoyed a huge selection of salads, cold meats, stews and casseroles, pastas vegetables, fresh fruit, cakes, pastrys, jelly, ice cream, angel delight etc. Our favourite part of the meals was the chef who fried food fresh for eating. At breakfast he made bacon, fried eggs, omelettes and pancakes. At dinner, he made steaks, roast meats, ingredients for making fajitas, burgers and a huge selection of fish.

The staff were all very friendly and happy to help. The pool was always clean and there were lots of sun loungers available through the day. The pool was never too busy, despite school and footballing parties. The only downside was that the pool was only open til 7.30pm.

The evening entertainment was mostly excellent. We saw a Beatles tribute band, a Cuban musicican, Flamenco dancers, a snake man and African fire swallowers. All the rooms have a balcony, and ours was directly above the performance area. There is a mini disco from 9pm, which the children seemed to love, and was adorable to watch.

The hotel is about 15 mins walk from the beach, and about the same from Port Aventura. All in all a great hotel.

Spent three nights here. As a family of four we had a room with two double beds. Location for Port Aventura is very good. Ten minutes of walking or they have a free buss ride four times a day. The last buss leaves to the hotel after 17.00 so it was no good for us since we left the park around midnight. Taxis were very expensive. 12€ to hotel from the theme park.
You can hear all the noise from the corridor to the room. The a/c blows in a dirty bathroom-like smell. The place is also quite aged. The biggest minus was the lack of wifi. I booked this hotel Because they had breakfast and wifi included. The wifi didn't work at all during our stay. Tried with three different advices. Two phones and an ipad. First they said that there's too many people using it. Nonsense. Then they said that there was a big problem with their own computers also. Pfft. A guy in a bar was using wifi with his laptop and it worked well and fast. With phone or ipad the device did find the right network but nothing happened with it.
Breakfast was very good. Ate lunch buffet once, great also. Pool area was nice too.
Spanish people at the desk were great. Russian guys were rude.

I stayed here with a group of friends for a stag weekend. the hotel was very clean and tidy and the rooms were of a good standard.
We did not experience any of the entertainment.
There is a pub attached to the main complex if you want to escape the noise from the main room.
Its quite a walk from the beach and its worth getting a cab.
The pools were really clean. Plenty of sunbeds. Staff were good.
We did not eat much of the food due to most of us sleeping during the day recovering from the night before "But" what we did have seemed to be of a limited range and fairly standard quality.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 10 nights at the beginning of June of this year.

Room;
Very clean and more modern than I expected. Lovely bathroom and well cleaned by the maid each day. Only slight complaint was that we did not get a double bed which we had requested upon booking, but we weren't fussed enough to complain as the two single beds were pushed right together. There was plenty of storage room for our clothes. If you prefer early nights I suggest getting a room that does not face the poolside as the entertainment at night is very loud and can go on past 11.30pm.

Location;
Great location, short 10 minute walk down two straight roads to Port Aventura theme park (definitely worth a visit) and only a 5 minute walk to the town centre through the back gate of the hotel. There is a local spar shop a few minutes down the road from the back gate which came in handy during our stay.

Food;
Not excellent if you are fussy, probably the downside to our stay at this hotel. Wouldn't particulary label the food served as 'british'. We ate out most evenings. €2.25 for a coke in the restaurant in the evening, service was okay, very friendly manager, some of the staff a little less.

Entertainment;
This was awful, they pester you whilst you are relaxing by the pool to take part in their games, slightly annoying but after saying no a few times they will leave you alone. In the evening we didn't find it great either, there was always a fair amount of people watching it but we preferred to go back up to our room. One night we heard what sounded like live music, somebody singing 'I will always love you' by Whitney Houston. I looked at my boyfriend and could not believe how excellent it sounded, we decided to go sit on our balcony to listen. Turns out it was a tape recording with people dancing on the stage, this sums up the entertainment.

All in all, for the price we paid the facilities were great, as well as being in a great location, we enjoyed our stay greatly and wanted to stay longer! The complaints we had were slight and nothing to get annoyed about.

I stayed here with my family from the 13/6 - 24/6/13. From the 2nd day my 20 yr old son had a pair of shorts and an adidas top taken. Then within a few days they helped themselves to a fred perry top from the wardrobe. I went to reception twice about this and they could not had cared any less, she just shrugged her shoulders. My son bought 2 pairs of earrings (1 euro a pair), he put them in the drawer still in the bag and she even had the nerve to help herself to 1 pair. Alex the guy from reception came with a monitor and took a reading from my door lock, which he printed off and it showed that this maid had entered my room twice, hours apart on the days of the thefts. Speaks volumes. Manager wasnt available until I had returned home and i am still waiting for there e-mail. Disgusted,and disappointed. Dont go if you treasure your possessions
