“Good food, lovely setting, bit pricey”
Reviewed August 12, 2012

We ate here one weekday evening towards the end of July 2012.

Lovely setting, they've done a really nice job of creating a tranquil environment for outside dining (not easy considering the busy road the restaurant is on!)

The building itself is lovely and very clean, the food was excellent and fresh, but the portions could have been a little more substantial. Nice choice of seafood as you would expect, the monkfish was amazing!

We took our two boys (both under 8) and they catered for them brilliantly and the staff were really good with them.

Overall very good, but then, for a family of 4, only 2 starters, 1 bottle of Cava and no desserts the bill came to more than 125 euros, you'd expect it to be very good!

“The best there is, beside the Sea”
Reviewed July 26, 2012

Firstly I must state that I managed to get a free meal at Villa Alexander, a friend of a friend does work for them, was invited to bring some friends along. This has not affected my review in any way, but I prefer to mention it ....

This place is in the best site in Salou, at the nice bottom end in one of the 4 or 5 massive elegant villas opposite the spectacular fountains. We were lucky enough to get the main table above street level near the "front door", well worth getting if you can...

The staff were excellent, not just for us, their friend, but proper professional waiting staff that are very rare in Spain.

Food was exceptional, real quality, the Prawn Carpaccio one of the best dishes I have ever had, madly expensive at e25 ish for a few grammes of meat, but WOW, just fantastic. The main courses were actually very reasonable by comparison, Fillet steak e26, hardly any more than you would pay in somewhere "ordinary" ... especially in the Tourist trap faux posh places in Cambrils.

The Menu Del Dia is also meant to be very good and decently priced, I will certainly return and experience this, overall I found Villa Alexander to be truly excellent, not just show and posturing like many, but the real deal, a high quality restaurant.

“LOVELY ON AN EVENING”
Reviewed July 6, 2012

similar to other reviews the food was lovely, but it was one of those small portions for a heavy price type of place. nevertheless,it was lovely. The building is a beautiful sun yellow and it looks lovely on an evening with its low lighting. there is outside seating, enclosed within its own wall. It sets the mood for a romantic couple. Not really a childrens place, and good behaviour is expected.
Irelevant of the food, i just enjoyed the setting. Worth a visit. Meals are in the 20 euros plus region per person.

“Lovely although expensive”
Reviewed July 1, 2012

This was a last night treat - if was lovely, the service was fantastic - the food was to die for but it was very expensive. We thought it was lovely but overpriced.
