We visited the Hotel in July 2018 as a family of 5. The hotel was clean, the food was excellent and the access by foot to the portaventura park nearby was very convenient. There was plenty of space around the swimming pools and it was always easy to find a spot to relax and sunbathe. It was always easy to find a place at breakfast ( the hours were regulated) and the food was very varied, fresh and very tasty.
Usually large popular resorts have problems with providing adequate places at breakfast and swimming pools even when they are well managed.
Thus I would highly recommend this place. I would mention however that for some reason the reception area is understaffed and too small and one sometimes has to wait quite a while for no apparent reason. The staff are polite however I think more should be done to make the wait less time consuming. Secondly the housekeeping left something to be desired. We had to ask for soap and shampoo every single day of our 7 night stay. Such things are not too significant in light of the positive aspects mentioned above however it seems that they could be improved easily without too much effort.
The hotel itself is very cute and well built with the place open and comfortable for children and adults alike. The park is great and we really had a great time. The nearby town of Salou is beautiful and very close. A very enjoyable stay at a very beautiful, clean and enjoyable place

The theme (far west) was nice but the facilities in the room were very basic. No tea or coffee in rooms neither irons. Breakfast came with tea, coffee and juice however dinner service had just water. The reception was always very busy in the mornings and early evening so expect huge queues. Also you have to choose your breakfast slot for each day when you check in however they are quite accomodating and you can change your slot if necessary.

If you like throwing money away and eating crap then stay here, for a 4* hotel and the amount we paid to stay here I’d of expected more, come on you don’t even provide a kettle in the room!

Breakfast time avoid the cooked food as it comes from the deepest part of the freezer! Stick to fruit or bread and jam your safer than eating those amazing sausages from the local butchers.. yeah right there made of cardboard or at least taste like it!

After been at the park for most of the day and finding a lot of the rides closed and now forced to queue at the big rides for numerous hours we return to the hotel take a quick shower and get changed and look forward to the evening meal praying it’s nothing compared to breakfast time, how wrong we were, tap water is the only drink you can have and anything else you will have to pay for! Food can only be described as things come out of an Iceland frozen store, stick to pizza as the other 4/5 dishes they do are disgusting!

Staff where helpful but I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We stayed her for a company event and the resort was fun and the 'main street' looked great. It was also close to the park which very convenient.

That is where the positives end. The walls were so thin you could here everything from the rooms next door. The staff were rude when we asked for an iron and ironing board and knocked on the door 10 minutes later to demand it back before we even had a chance to use it.

Breakfast was chaos and the juice and coffee were disgusting!

Myself and my partner stayed at the Hotel Gold River in September of this year. Couldn't have been happier with the quality of the Hotel and the surrounding areas. Nice, simple and clean room, 2 minute walk from the Port Aventura park entrance. Friendly staff. Food (for me) slightly overpriced for what it was but not terrible, cheap beer and wine. Lovely pool area. My only gripe would be (and this is really nitpicking) we had an adjoining room and the family were not the quietest so we would be woken by them early in the mornings but this really wasn't a major issue. Highly suggest this Hotel for those looking to be close to the ction but would like the option to retreat to the quiet and relative calm of a Pool to soak up some sun. Can not wait to come back.
