The castle is about 15 minutes drive from Benalmadena Costa and it entry costs €2 each. It was built as a monument to Columbus (the famous explorer). There are wonderful panoramic views from the castle right over Benalmadena. It is very picturesque and whilst we were there someone was using it as a place to have their wedding photographs. Each piece of the castle has a little story such as the "snake fountain". You can climb up into many of the parts of the castle and it is a great place to take photos.

Today We took the 30 minute up hill walk from the vista de rey hotel in torremoulle where we are staying. It's deffo worth €2 if you're interested in monuments/castles and a bit of history. It's a great place to photograph and will look forward to uploading them to share with friends and family when we get home :) don't pay a fortune and do it as a trip, get the train to torremoulle which is outside the vista de rey hotel then take the left road not the right past hotel, carry on along the road (you'll have to keep crossing roads a little when you run out of pavement. It's up hill and about 30 min walk, make sure you take some water for journey! Toilets are at the castle too.

This is well worth a visit, 2 euros entry fee. It was only built in 1987, but it is very beautiful, great views from here as well, if you do visit, it's also worth going into Benelmadena Peublo which is the village near the Castillo.
