From Check in at the airport, to saying goodbye to Cardiff Airport after our return home, a very enjoyable experience.

It was our 2nd time to the Holiday Village at Benalmadena, booked through First Choice holidays, as we had previously. Our daughter was aged 3 the first time, aged 5 this time and loved every second of it.

We had room 423 which suited us perfectly, had a great view of the pools and the Waterpark, and of course the Sea. Check in was quick, and after an early flight out we were soon making good use of the all inclusive food and drink.

The restaraunt had many dishes on offer every day, salads, pasta's, chefs grill, fish, cold meats, soup, full English Breakfast, cold meats and cheeses and of course the childrens favorites of Chips, nuggets, fish bites, burgers, hot dogs and pizzas. I personally never got bored of the food, the choice was excellent and the quantity plentiful.

The poolside snack bar obviously had nowhere near as much choice, but then you shouldn't expect it to.

Wifi was limited to a certain area, although it easily stretched as far as the bar... ;-)

Our 5 yr old had a great time in the pools, and across the road at the waterpark (which is a very short walk, 10 mins at most) None of the pools were closed at any time during our stay.

All inclusive drinks are of course all local spirits but something you get used to quite quickly. Soft Drinks and Tea/Coffee are great quality (fanta/coke etc)

Entertainment Staff - You guys are amazing and do a fantastic job, seriously... Kept us and our little one entertained non-stop. Special mentions for Tyler and Hettie, where do you guys get your energy from??

Swimming Staff - Alice and Joyce, Thank you both so much for looking after our little girl and giving her so much confidence in the water. We have been trying for ages, but thanks to you she is now happy to have a go at swimming out of her depth without her armbands. A very trusting role which you guys excel at!

Its the second time we have visited in October, the weather was great, a couple of hazy mornings but by lunchtime it was blue skies til nightfall. Estimating 27/28 degrees most of the time. A lovely time of year to visit.

Thanks to you all, and see you at the Holiday Village again in the future!

We have just returned from a fantastic week at the Holiday Village. The kids (6 years & 1 year) had a ball. The pools & kids club are of a very high standard & at times we had to persuade our daughter to spend time with us rather than go to kids club for another session. The creche team were just lovely & do a great job of settling the babies.

We found the hotel staff to be very friendly & helpful especially when my son fell ill & we had to take him to the local hospital. The First Choice reps were also great.

In the evening you can do as much or as little as you wish. We loved the i5Live kids disco the entertainment team were great then we head to the bar where they had a singer every night.

We had a pool side room & although a little noisy until the bar closed we never struggled to fall asleep & the view of the pool & sea was well worth it.

My only negatives were the flies (everywhere!) def take some repellant & the pools were FREEZING even after a day in the sun! Not sure if they pump it directly from the North Sea but I thinking investing in some solar heating would not go amiss.

We had a lovely time though & would def return in the future.

p.s. Seem some reviews suggesting code brown pool shut downs which worried me when we were going but we never experienced anything like that & the lifeguards were very vigulant.

was a bit apprehensive after reading the reviews mainly about the location. It is beautifully situated with endless sea views and by day you can venture out and go down to the beach and walk all the way to Fuengirola which was lovley along the beach and paths. Also you can get the 120 bus across the road to Benalmadena/Torremolinos or on hotel side to Fuengirola for 1.55 euros one way.We went over to the Beach Club a lot as the pool there is better depth to swim in and you can face your sunbed to look out to sea.
Rooms
Spacious, spotless - we were in 530 with sea and pool view...plenty of lifts ...needed aircon as very hot.
Food
fresh and constantly replenished. loved the fish cooked for you and the same for the omlettes for brekkie...also the veg pizza was delicious..food was a bit repititive..but never went hungry,Didnt like the desserts everything was loaded with cream an too sweet.Disappointed with the Italian food bland and pointless.
Pool bar does scrummy toasties
Drink
good measures preferred the red wine to drink, fake Baileys, whisky and the brandy and Pina Colada cocktail...lager ok and always a smile at the bar
Entertainment
chill out music in the piano bar every evening from 8.30 - 10 ish and then the animation team do a fun show in the Maluka Bar = they work hard and do an excellent job. The irish bar was enormous but under used sadly..did see a good rock band one evening there..
Spa
wonderful jacuzzi and pool - we often went there around 4pm for peace and quiet and to relax -had the pool to ourselves and we were made very welcome
First Choice team
impressive - very helpful and knowledgeable about all trips and the hotel etc
reception
again friendly and informative regarding bus timetables, markets(good one on a Tues in Fuengirola
places to go
Paloma Park in benalmadena - peaceful oasis with animals and free
Cable Car - amazing - you get a car to yourself and a free bird of prey show
Torremolinos - loved it..nice shopping square with hidden streets and arcades and pedestrianised and a windy walk down to the beach with little shops to browse en route and a beautiful seafront walk with restaurants that have gardens on the beach
was I impressed - YES - clean airy hotel run by an amazing team from reception to the guy on the gates to the cleaners they all had a smile and a hello and a good a place as any to relax

Room Tip: high up for a sea view and quiet

We stayed on an all inclusive package deal at the Holiday Village for a week in September. Our room was on the fourth floor right at the end of the corridor, and was lovely and spacious especially since it was just the two of us. The only thing we thought was missing was an iron, but that was hardly the end of the world. All of the staff that we encountered were very friendly and helpful, we never had any trouble with the language barrier as they all spoke English well. We paid about £900 for the both of us and definitely think this was good value considering the amount that there was to do around the hotel and the quality and variety of food and drink.

The hotel was immaculately clean. The only downside to this was that they seemed to clean the toilets during in busy times of the day meaning you'd have to go from the pool to your room at times. Unfortunately the beach club wasn't as clean, the toilets made me feel ill so I'd have had to walk back over to the hotel if I had needed to use them. The pools on both the hotel side and beach club side were great, plenty of sunbeds. Though there was a bit more going on over the beach club side so we spent most days there.

The food and drink was brilliant. We were very pleased with the selection and quality of the food at breakfast and dinner, lunch in the main restaurant wasn't as good but was adequate. The snack bar by the pool is also worth a visit if you don't want to leave the pool area.

As to location, the hotel was in the middle of nowhere as far as we could tell. However, when we took a taxi down to the cable car which was nearer town it only cost eight euro so was hardly a problem.

Overall we had a fantastic stay and we will definitely use first choice to book our next holiday and will consider using another Holiday Village.

On the coach transfer from the airport it did cross our minds that perhaps as an older couple it may not thave been the best choice for a couple of pensioners.
Those fears were clearly unfounded because we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
I suppose over the years we have stayed at many hotels, but this was the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in
.The pool and communal areas were kept immaculate. Our rooms were well serviced and kept spotless.
The food in the restaurant was not the best I have ever had, but it was always edible and there was plenty of choice.the menu was aimed at the young families with the children and I certainly never heard any complaints.
Our room was the biggest room we have ever stayed in, and most definitely the biggest balcony we have ever had.
As you can gather from the title of this review the majority of the guests were young families with small children and the hotel caters for this.
The facilities for these children are immense with a large shallow pool in the hotel grounds and across the road (accessed by a private bridge) is a full on water park, which is amazing.
We had no problems finding a sun bed through out the week we were there.
The hotel is midway between Fuengirola and Benalmadena and a little isolated.
Buses to either come every 15mins and the fare is 1.60 euros, A taxi is 12 euros
There are no local bars in the immediate vicinity.
The entertaiment of an evening was very good as there was a different duo performing each night.
My only criticism is of the two speciallity restaurants, they were not that good and I heard several people saying how dissappointed they were with them, echoing my own views.
So to sum up.
It is a hotel for young families and at times meals are very noisy, but if you can cope with noise and the miriad of young children, I am sure you will enjoy it as much as we did.

Room Tip: ask for a pool view and you will have views all the way to Fuengirola

We went with our son his wife and 3year old granddaughter. We didn't know what to expect as we had never done all inclusive - what a great surprise. Cant wait to go again. The rooms were very spacious lovely and clean and what a bathroom- 2 showers and 2 washbasins. The food was very good - great choice and always topped up very quickly. Some people had said the food was only warm or cold but ours was always piping hot. They catered for everyone even the very fussy ones. Nothing was too much trouble for the waiters. The pools were fantastic- especially the pirate ship. Our granddaughter had a fantastic time as we all did. The reception staff couldn't do enough for us. Everyone very friendly. The entertainment staff worked so hard to cater for everyone. We went to the other 2 hotels just to look around but preferred the Village. We went on the shuttle bus twice and didn't have to wait long - they run very frequently. My daughter in law and me went to the Spa at the Polynesian hotel what an experience - loved every minute of it - all for 5 euros- great value. Looking forward to next year hopefully our other son and his wife and children can come with us - we will have a fantastic time - thanks first choice

Room Tip: When we arrived the reception staff said it would be better if we were not overlooking the pool and...
