“Second Visit - Just as Great!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2013

Stayed for 11 nights this year (last year for 7 nights) and so glad we booked for longer this year.
RECEPTION: fantastic reception staff throughout our stay. We were warmly greeted and given blue bands for a repeat visit and told we had no allocated eating times.
ROOM: stayed in room 455 with a view of both the sea & the mountains which we were really happy with. The sofa was a little warm but our 6yr old son slept soundly on it every night. The room was clean and spacious with clean towels regularly, the maid visited daily and did a fab job.
POOL: only 2 "code browns" this time which was an improvement on last year so it looks like the message is finally getting across. The entertainment around the pool was excellent and the reps worked really hard to keep us all involved & entertained with various games. It's the same old story putting out the towels which meant that we were getting up at 6.15am to get a bed & a shade.
FOOD & DRINK: the food at the Beach Club was tasty and only a short walk over the bridge. Food at the main restaurant was also good with a huge variety. Good quality 'all inclusive' drinks.
HOTEL STAFF: the staff in the hotel worked very hard and were always smiling.
KIDS CLUB: brought "kids club" to a whole new level. Fabulous imaginative sessions which my son loved attending. Nice work kids club reps.
EVENING ENTERTAINMENT: usual i5live stuff which is great for kids. But the shows could be improved. One night there was a magic act which was poor.
Overall we had a great time and hope to return next year for a 3rd time. Really great holiday.

travelled as a family of 4 , kids age 6 and 9 from 19th july to 2nd august.
fantastic hotel and great sized room, 2 showers/sinks , paid £4600 for a sea view granted a bit more expensive as flying from scotland, but sea view was well worth it and beautiful , 3rd floor also high enough away from the teenagers that run riot in the lobby of an evening when parents in bars. fantastic kids clubs and great pool facilties, especially the beach club away from the hotel pool which closed a couple times for child poo/vomit....the mind boggles! i enjoyed this hotel for the kids clubs and pools facilities ,good magic /light shows for kids and a couple of nights when the entertainment was poor for example amateur abba singing etc that the kids were bored with we walked five mins out of hotel down some steps to the beach and collected shells! my only downside to this hotel was the catering, good points , nice cold beer , tasty wine, pool side snacks fine although avoided uncovered salad, lunch at beach club ok if you got an outside table away from chaotic inside , but my main grumble was our evening meal , we were allocated second sitting 19:45 , as we tend to eat later on holiday to allow kids to stay in pool til six ish this was fine to get ready for , but felt a bit rushed and lots of ques also not a lot of plates or cutlery to be found at this time and sometimes the food run out or hotplates being cleaned , not to mention lack of desserts at 2nd sitting, first come first served by looks of it! also to throw in first hotel have been to in spain that doesnt have fresh squeezed orange juice , choices are machine or they pour cartons of don simon into jugs! would i go back , not sure , maybe a bit too much tatooed clientle for my liking.

We stayed here in early july for 2 weeks, on entering the Hotel it was quite impressive with large reception area and check in was quick enough and thats where our excitement ended, on entering our room we were shocked at the condition of the apartment, the bathroom was filthy, tiles were stained and grubby mirror area was in need of a deep clean better still to retile the whole bathroom and the shower was a complete disaster area with old dirt imbedded into the whole area, we moved on into living room area the sofa bed my son had to sleep on was only fit for dumping, covered with dust and old oily stains, the balcony door knob was hanging off, the balcony table was broken with sharp edging which had we a young child could easily rip its head open or even an adults leg, the mattresses in the bedroom were stained with urine, brown and red stains which made us feel ill.Our view was the hotel bins and a railway track with trains starting each morning at 630 and every 10 to 15 minutes after that. The hotel pool was closed twice in the first week due to people using it as a toilet!.We asked to be moved from the hotel on our first day but our request for a move fell on deaf ears we were offered a downgrade to another hotel +costs!! or the sister hotel to the holiday village, did they really think by moving us up a hill to a twin hotel would improve things?by the end of week 1 we were totally drained i could not believe we had paid to stay in a hotel that needed a total revamp, the interior furniture in the apts belongs in a conservatory everything made from straw, the table in the sitting room is a garden table ,Our holiday we had looked forward to going on turned into a nightmare, We advise anyone thinking of going to this hotel to think twice, We would not like anyone else to have the nightmare we did.

We booked this holiday a year ago but after the poor reviews I rang FC to cancel but was advised not to. As a family of 2 adults, a 7yr old and a 4 yr old we have just arrived back after spending two weeks at the HV. The room was spotless, very big with the best view from a balcony we've ever had, although we did pay extra for a pool view but well worth it. The food was great with plenty of choice, far better than general hotel food. The walk across the bridge to the Beach Club took no more than 10mins and it is well worth going over there especially for lunch as the food at the poolside is average (chicken nuggets, Burgers, etc) and would get a bit monotonous after a couple of days.
The First Choice team work extremely hard making sure everyone is happy and enjoying themselves day and night, they were absolutely fantastic with the children. The Football academy and swim academy were big hits with both our children. I would definitely recommend this HV and we have already looked into going back next year.

Room Tip: Pay for a pool view, well worth it!!

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time and leaving us your feedback.

You may have noticed that we have recently re-painted the exterior of the hotel and layed artificial grass in the pool area. Our next project is to update the rooms and this will enhance their appearance.

We take on board all your comments as we can use them to improve our services.

This hotel really surpassed my expectations! Rooms were huge clean and with air conditioning and a massive balcony! Food was plentiful with lots of choice and tasted great! Drinks the same and the entertainment was fun especially for the children! The staff work so hard to ensure that everyone has a great time, literally couldn't find fault with anything, had a fabulous holiday, would definitely recommend to others and would definitely go back!!

We stayed at the Holiday Village from 16th July - 31st August. I almost cancelled this holiday from reading the negative, disappointing reviews - WOW I am so glad that I didn't. Me and my family had an absolute ball. The kids loved every minute of it.
The Hotel is spotless, the cleaning staff work all day and night to ensure the hotel is at its best. Our room was cleaned every day and new bedding placed on the beds along with nice, clean white towels.
The hotel room was very big and not what I was expecting at all. We also had a little kitchen hence we did not use this as we were all inclusive but could of come in handing should we wanted to. I do agree that the sofa beds are a little worn however this did not spoil our holiday as the main bedroom has two double beds which can fit a family of 4 in them !!
Entertainment is endless the First Choice team all deserve a GOLD medal for the hours they put in they are a credit to the First choice company and I will be writing to FC to highlight their commitment and dedication. ( my 9 year old became particular found of John, Jimmy and Tyler - they were fantastic with him) Evening entertainment is also good for the kids they get everyone involved, even the parents ha ha. Bingo takes place at 9pm - we won almost 120 quid - which was a little bonus and good fun!!
The main swimming pool is large with plenty of sun beds around the pool - if you want a sunbed with an umbrella then you do have to get up pretty early and do the 'sun bed run'!! however if you wanted or needed a lie in then the Beach Club only opens at 10am so you could make your way over there where they are plenty of sunbeds. The beach club is approximately 5 minute walk away over a bridge- I have read recent reviews on here who have complained that it is quite a distance - one word Lazy!
Beach towels are provided by the hotel, you collect a token from reception and then collect your towels from the health suite which is on the lower floor of the hotel.
All pools have lifeguards that are present - which is an added bonus to the hotel.
FOOD - we found all food to be of very good standard. The staff within the dining area work tireless to ensure you are looked after. Food is presented in an outstanding manner and replenished constantly. Cleaners are also present and are continually walking around the dining hall to ensure spillages are cleared up. I did not see any child or adult selecting food and placing it back down again - if I had of done then I would of reported this straight away. There are 3 lots of hand sanitizers present before entering the dining hall - hence I only saw one family using these during our 2 week stay. You would certainly NEVER go hungry at this restaurant as the variety of food on offer is amazing especially at Breakfast and Evening meal. Lunch is served at the Beach Club between 12.30 - 2.30pm however if you just prefer a snack, and don't want to leave the main pool area, then there are toasties, hot dogs, salad, pasta, burgers on offer.
We visited both the Mexican and Italian and were both enjoyable.
Trampolines, cars and Bungee jumps are all extra coast but we didn't mind this as it kept our kids entertained!!
The hotel offers an 'happy hour' which we enjoyed 7 - 8 in the piano bar, 8 - 9 in the entertainment bar and 11 - 12pm in the Irish bar. We use this on most nights as a treat it coast 6 euros for 2 Breezers and 2 Magners.
There were no queues at the bar for drinks as there was enough staff to manage the flow of customers at the bar.
The hotel is situated right in the middle of the two resorts. If you wanted to visit and travel out of the hotel then it would cost 12 euros each way however on the bus it only cost 6 euros for a family of four - the bus stop is right outside of the hotel. Taxis are also positioned outside the hotel too.
There is also security on the entrance of the hotel which has security guards on 24 hours a day. There are also cameras positioned around the hotel.
Please be reassured that I complain about EVERYTHING and I can honestly say nothing bad about this holiday, First Choice or the Hotel - they were all FANTASTIC !!!!!!! Don't let the negative reviews put you off!!!!!
Enjoy your holiday :-) because we certainly did and have booked to go back next year !!!!!!!!
