“Another nice stay at Las Arenas”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 10, 2014

We have just returned from our 5th or 6th stay at Las Arenas. We arrived on 30 March about 1130 and were instantly recognised and greeted by Estephania on the reception desk. We soon had a room allocated and were unpacked and changed with half an hour!

In the evening some of the restaurant staff also recognised us from previous visits. We used to go down to eat about 1915 and never had to wait for a table allocation. The restaurant offers a wide choice of buffet salad style starters and an equally wide choice of main courses from meats, fish, both hot and cold, vegetables, paella etc. There was an equally wide choice of sweets, from pastries/cakes and an abundance of fresh fruits, nuts, ice cream etc. There was plenty of variety of breads as well.

It must be difficult not to find something to like here. Breakfast choices were equally wide.

The bar staff are great at their job and prices for the drinks are very reasonable. Happy hour from 1700 to 1800 offers 2 for 1 drinks - but they don't ring last orders just before six!

The rooms are kept well cleaned and maintained although probably due to older building construction techniques the walls are a bit thin!

Without fail the staff here are great. Polite, effecient and they work hard. We should try other hotels and resorts but it's difficult not to get drawn back here.

We went with Thompsons and having a taxi transfer costs a bit more but does cut out the coach travel either way from/to the airport. Buy a travel card for 1.80 Euro from the Tabac near the Windmill Roundabout and pre-load it with a few euros and you will save approximately a third on local bus fares. The services to Malaga, Fuengirola, Mijas, Benalmadena Pueblo are all available from stops close to the hotel. Arroyoz de la Miel up the hill to the rear of the hotel is a nice shopping centre. The train staion is also there.

We enjoyed our stay again. A very good value holiday.

Room Tip: Rooms to the west side are sunnier later in the day. They also get hot with the balcony door open...

My Husband and I have just returned from a week at this hotel. After researching on the trip adviser we were not disappointed. We e.mailed before arriving and asked for a high floor room, which I am pleased to say we were give. Our room was on the 7th floor of which there are only 10rooms, we were lucky to get an even numbered room which overlooked a side view of the sea and road, the plus side was that our room got the sun right up to 7.30 in the evening, The odd numbered rooms opposite ours overlooked the pool, which only had sun first thing in morning and were quite cool for sitting out on the balcony. The hotel itself was spotless, we asked for extra pillows on arrival and a maid immediately arrived with them, the food was good quality and varied, plus it was hot most of the time, and was replenished on a regular basis throughout the duration of the meal. Coffee and tea was served to you at the table which we thought was a nice touch at breakfast, we met some lovely people, some whom return year after year to this hotel, and they didn't have a bad word to say about it, We would definitely recommend to our friends, although we don't usually return to the same hotel twice, we may not say never to the las arenas.

Room Tip: Highest floor possible even number away from A/C unit noise 704 is a nice room

We arrived on the 30th March and was very impressed. The check in was very fast by 2 very professional members of staff. I emailed the hotel before arrival asking for a high floor sunny side room and that is exactly what we got. The room was very clean and comfortable with plenty of hanging space, bathroom very clean, nice balcony with a wonderful view out to sea and to the mountains. The restaurant although on the small side we never had to wait, the restaurant staff never stop from morning to night, all of them are so pleasant and nothing is too much trouble. The food was always nice, plenty to choose from both for Breakfast and Evening Meal. A special to the Cleaning Ladies they are so polite and very efficient. The Paloma Park behind the hotel is well worth a visit. If your thinking of booking this hotel, do it you wont be disappointed. Thank you Las Arenas for a lovely holiday

Room Tip: Even numbered rooms have sun from late morning till sunset

We stayed at the end of March on a half board basis. The first time we've ever had a whole bus arrive at the same hotel!! The reception process was swift and efficient. The hotel staff work extremely hard and are all very friendly and professional. We did not experience having to stand in long queues to enter the dining room perhaps because we avoid the peak times. If you can't find something to your taste in the dining room then the problem is yours. Delicious fish selection, fruit to die for. First time I've seen a microwave provided for those dishes that aren't quite hot enough (not that we needed it). It was my 50th birthday while we were there and it was a lovely touch to receive a bottle of red wine and 2 glasses when we came in. We were at the younger end of the clientele but we still enjoyed the hotel and would have no hesitation in returning.

Stayed at the Las arenas for 1 week at the end of March,we booked the hotel on the Thomson website and we flew with Easy jet.
We really enjoyed our stay and it was very good value for the price we paid.
Our room was on the 2nd floor looking over the pool and was very clean, and the beds were comfortable.
We thought the food was exceptionally good.
The service in the bar was good, and also the entertainment.
We would be happy to return.

Room Tip: The rooms overlooking the pool only get the sun in the morning,so if you want a sunny balcony ask fo...
