This is not my first visit to the hotel but I think it will be my last which is a shame as it's a prime location for getting to places by walking or pu lis transport

1. The hotel was clean & staff friendly
2. My husband & friend went down for our evening meal in 1/2 leg dress shorts& a shirt & was told that they needed to go change to full length trousers, when therewereladies in with shorts on, what is the difference?
3. Guest should show respect to other guests, you don't want to be sitting at the pools side & be faced with PEOPLE showing all their bits & pieces off, I don't want to be seeing bare backsides! Respect costs nothing
4. Our view from the room was the building site of the hotel next door which was OK until you opened the door to the balcony & then it was noisy! When the door was shut you could not hear anything. Apparently rooms were not been given on request due to this but on speaking to another guest he advised that he requested the room he wanted & got it!

Thank you for taking the time to share your impressions of your latest holiday with us at the Hotel Riviera. We are very sorry indeed to read that you were disappointed with various aspects of your stay this time.
At the Riviera we do our very best to ensure that our guests enjoy the very best holiday experience possible and we are sorry that you felt that the dress code for gentlemen in our restaurant were too restrictive, and that other guests impacted on your enjoyment of the pool area.
As you are probably aware, the building work taking place at the hotel beside the Riviera is completely outside of our control, and unfortunately it is not possible to allocate all rooms away from this work. The team at the hotel do their very best to offer room changes to customers affected by the work when available and we are sorry that this work impacted on the overall enjoyment of the hotel.
We are pleased that you rated the cleanliness and the helpfulness of the team at the hotel highly and sincerely hope that you will reconsider your decision not to return to stay with us on future occasions.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks in April 2018 and were both taken Ill
On the two occasions we used the outdoor hot tub.
Other residents advised us that there were rats nearby and we did see( and photograph) the rat holes and droppings on the hot tub decking area as well as seeing several rats during the day.
We advised the Tui rep as well as the customer services rep and the reception manager.
The reps were very helpful in obtaining medication for us and getting light meals to our room.
We were ill for 4 days and had to cancel planned trips booked with Tui.
We completed a health survey before we left and once home wrote to Tui to complain about the rats.
Whilst we cannot prove our illness was caused by the rat problem, we were concerned about their presence especially as an earlier review( seen when we returned) also complained about the rats.
Unfortunately our complaint was not dealt with in the way we would have expected.
We were told they had looked into our complaint about rats near the restaurant ( we never mentioned the restaurant) and had contacted the hotel and been advised we had not reported any problem to anyone.
Although they apologised for any stress caused they felt that they could do no more.
We were not looking for compensation but wanted acknowledgement that the rat issue had been dealt with.
Instead the response was that from time to time they experienced “ local animals and birds “ around the hotel.
The hotel was lovely as was the food but be aware that it seems that Tui do not consider this problem of ratsto be a particular concern.

At MedPlaya the health and safety of our customers is of the highest importance, and strict hygiene processes and procedures are in place in order to ensure that our guests enjoy a happy and healthy holiday.
Your concerns have been passed to the Hotel Manager who will fully investigate, and we are sorry that you felt that when you highlighted them during your stay in the hotel they could have been given more consideration.

We had been invited to attend a wedding at the Sunset Beach, we decided to take to stay for two weeks with the wedding in the middle, we like adult only hotels and decided the sunset beach wasn't for us. We have friends who have an apartment in Benalmadena and recommended the Riviera, l had read some of the reviews, which on the whole were very positive. We did receive an email from TUI to mention the building work taking place at the side of the hotel, with the option of a refund or change of hotel if we wished. We rang the Riviera to ask for there opinion. The work is taking place at the back of the main building and does not affect the pool area.
We had committed to attend the wedding and decided to go. We were allocated a room on the 5th floor 513 facing the building work, this side also gets the afternoon sun, work stops in the afternoon and the hotel is double glazed.
We had a wonderful holiday, the hotel is lovelyand clean, the staff were very welcoming and friendly, the TUI team Becky Joe and Harry couldn't be more helpful. The selection of food, both morning and evening was as good if not better than we've had in other Spanish hotels, the wifi is free as is the fridge and safe, Pool towels can be hired for a refundable deposit of 20 euros and changed as often as you want.
Our cousin and her daughter joined is for a week from Ireland, as they were also going to the wedding, she is very particular about cleanliness.
We all had a fantastic time, great all round hotel we will definitely be returning, Thank you Riviera and all staff, hope to be back soon.

Although this is now a Sensimar hotel it has a long way to go to beat the Sensmar in Logos Portugal. The accommodation was alright you were supplied with a bottle of wine and water in your room which was quite nice. The staff were very nice as was the cleanliness of the room. We were on the 6th floor they were 8 in total. if you got a bottom floor room looking to the building site next door it would not be nice. Although we were on the 6th floor looking out at the building site it did not spoil our holiday as the pool area was on the other side and you very rarely heard the work going on. probably won't be back. A lot of people enjoyed the hotel then they probably only go to Spain. The Thomson Rep was very nice and good at her job.

Half way through another wonderful holiday at the Riviera. Our third visit and I can only repeat what I said on our last visit.
See below :
Our second visit, ( it was then ) that says a lot.
Both visits in October but note than the pool bar and a few outside amenities close towards the end of October, we learned that from our 50th wedding anniversary trip here in 2014 when our second week ran into November. The overall hotel service never fails.
The rooms are set on two sides of the hotel, one overlooking the pool and getting the morning sun, the other side not so pleasant as it overlooks a car park but the advantage is you get the evening sun if you prefer the quiet relaxed evening, you see the sea from both sides. Pay a little more and you get a full sea view with sun all day.
Restaurant food and attention to service always excellent thanks to Roberto the restaurant manager, sensible evening dress code and enough choice to please everyone, not table service but a pleasure to explore the variety of dishes to choose from, also good wines.
Evening entertainment. ....very mixed, some excellent and a few acts not so good, but also many other bars and restaurants nearby.
A good location with easy access to the beach which we used a lot rather than doing the early morning dash to claim your poolside bed.
Book early as it's very popular with return visitors. ...that says more than we can.
