“would not go back”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 4, 2012

We would not go back to this hotel , here is why we did not think they catered at all for the british , when there were a lot of scottish ,english and irish as well as french and germans staying at hotel . all inclusive drinks were good enough , entertainment was very poor .breakfast was ok . however lunch and evening meal had to much fish and everything was soaked in oil and I mean soaked , would have been better if people could hve put oil on if wanted, menu did not change much no brown sauce either . we ended up only having breakfast in hotel .tv in room only had one channel in english which was sky news, which did not help us when we had rain for 4 days .we also had £20 note taken out of wallet on the last day even although we had it locked away in a saftey deposit box in room . I have been to Belamadana 4 times and would go back but would never go back to this hotel .

I have travelled to Benalmadena more times than I can remember and after a fantastic week at the benalmadena palace hotel in may we saw a late all inclusive deal here for July and booked it quick! Mistake!
Arrived Monday 23rd July in the early hours, no refreshments available so we had a sleep and went for breakfast, this was stale bread, some greasy slops that wouldn't be served in a prison and a coffee, optional extras included being ignored, stared at and barged out of the way by rude, arrogant Germans and French.
Lunch and dinner consisted of equally delicious food, mostly covered in grease and garlic, however a warm jug of red vinegar was provided with evening meal.
Can't comment on pool area as due to stereotypical Germans, there was no chance of a seat/sun lounger and we felt as welcome as a nun at an orgy.
Bar area was good, we managed to get served once to every 3 times the French/German holidaymakers got served and the bar staff almost looked in our direction once whilst serving us, although I must give credit to the young barman who was very 'friendly' to my partner every time he thought I was out of earshot!
By Thursday we were desperately trying to get flights home however the sickness and diarrhea that confined us to our room for 2 days after bravely eating some lovely green garlic flavoured liver ended the dream of escape.
Thankfully and with what can only be divine intervention, we managed to flee this voluntary Alcatraz at 4am this morning (30th July) and are now in bed weeping and holding each other as we attempt to put this horrific experience behind us, specialist intensive counselling has been booked and we have had to be sedated.
If you are French or German then you will love it, any other humans will be hoping for a quick painless death to end their suffering!

After reading a few negative reviews on this hotel i was really impressed with when i got there. Our room was basic but was cleaned with fresh towels everyday. We were all inclusive and the food was fantastic, full english buffet every morning, fresh fish and meats with lunch and dinner, fresh salad bar, pasta with several different sauces, chips, paella everyday. There was something different every night but also something for everyone. We got whatever drinks we wanted all day until 10.30pm and yes they were in small plastic cups but you could get 2 each sometimes more at one time if your bothered about keeping going to the bar for a refill. Ther was also water available from a fountain all day and a slush machine. they served burgers hot dogs and chips round the pool var all afternoon if you didnt fancy going to the restaurant for a proper meal and also crepes served late afternoon.
The entertainment in the day was great, especially for kids but as we were a couple we didnt play most of the games. But they did play water polo in the pool every afternoon which was a lot of fun. there were lots of different nationalities with the majority of guests being french so a lot of the entertainers spoke french most of the time but this didnt bother me too much.
The hotel was oposite the beach which is great! It is about a ten minute walk to 24hour square where there are a lot of lively bars with a lot of hen and stag groups partying late into the early hours and the marina which is beautiful is about a 20minute walk which also has a lot of things to do and see at night. A walk a long the beach at night you will see all the different stalls set up of people selling jewellery, knock off clothing and dvds etc but its always nice to nosey at!
Overall i had a fantastic holiday and the hotel was above and beyond what i expected and well worth what i paid for. I would definatley book again to go here, being all inclusive meant we spent barely any money and it was so convenient!

One weeks all inclusive.......in Spain.....after reading conflicting reviews I was pleasantly surprised. The reception when we arrived at the hotel were helpful welcoming. First impressions were good 3 star, very clean and friendly. Our room was perfect overlooking the beautiful pools and with views of the sea. The bright and spacious room had a large bathroom and was cleaned/towels changed every day. Aircon was good (paid a nominal deposit for remote). There was the usual towel on sunbeds round the pools so a little planning was required in order not to miss out. Food was very acceptable and service was excellent. Mostly Spanish people in the resort with some French a sprinkling of British, five Poles and two Germans. All very friendly and bringing more character to the resort than could be expected. Lots for friends made playing the daily water polo and chatting by the pool. Lots of activities during day (air gun/archery/water aerobics etc.). Drinks and snack bar food was fine and you could also get olives/nuts/ice cream at the bar. drinks were in plastic cups and AL finished at 1030pm...but hey.... not a problem. Well kept gardens and pool with lots of lush plants and even parrots in the trees. The beach close by and nice promenade sweeping round to an up market marina at the far end of the bay. Night-life was fun and you can dance all night. The entertainment team at the hotel were genuine, energetic and seemed to really enjoy their job. Although not in English this did not seem to matter. A trip to the Marina nightclub with the hotel entertainment team is a must. A special thanks to Jose, who is a really good bloke! Also to Victoria who was charming and helpful at reception. Also a big thanks to all the wonderful people we met ...like one big family...you made my holiday.

I stayed at this hotel from the 20th-27th of June with two friends and we had an absolutely brilliant time! before we went we had read a lot of negative reviews and were expecting the worst, as it happens it was really nice.
We stayed all inclusive and the food was brilliant with something for everybody, the meats were different every day but there was always chips and rice etc, through the day there were burgers and hotdogs and sandwiches all available all day, the allinclusive drinks were very nice and as you can imagine we got our moneys worth! in the dining room there was a beer tap which you could help yourself too.
The room was clean and had everything we needed, we had a pool view which also overlooked the sea so that was lovely. the staff were all brilliant and very helpful, except one barman who was very slow and a bit miserable. They gave us a lovely courtesy room to shower in on the day we left as we had to wait till the evening, the pool was fab especially the one partially covered as it was like getting into a warm bath.
the only things i can pick at, and it is just picky, is the music through the day around the pool was a bit repetitive and the hotel had a lot of french and Spanish.

DO NOT be put of by bad reviews, the hotel is brilliant and for the price i think people are cheeky to grumble but you just cant please some people! also you are on holiday so unless something dreadful happens and you have a really unlucky streak i honestly cant believe people moan about this place, i miss it already and me and my friends would quite happily go back tomorrow!
just a quick note: if you want a party night out 24 hour square is about ten mins walk or 5 euro for a taxi and its amazing!! also there is a macdonalds open 24 hours and thats about 15 mins walk which is great for something to eat!!

Room Tip: Definitely ask for a pool view!!

Stayed for a fortnight all inclusive. Rooms were basic but roomy and clean. Food was excellent and cooked in front of you. Pools were great. One indoors for bad weather, not that we had any.
First class entertainment staff. They really work their heart out.
The only things that spoiled the stay there was miguel the waiter. Hates the British with a vengeance. Totally rude to us. Even asked my sons to share a tub of ice cream.

We stayed here on the 16th June 2012. On arrival to reception we were met with such a misserable chap who looked like he had 2 days left to live with a grumpy attitude. We requested a room no higher than the 3rd floor and we were given 5th floor. The hotel has one half which has been renovated and the other dated. We got the dated room and it was very dated. although the aircon worked we where told i had to pay 24 euro for the hire of the fridge as i am diabetic. the all inclusive is really poor. they stop serving drinks every night at 10.30 pm and you are told if you want any more you must pay. they have one barman on and the que is very long, he does not hurry. This is so they can save on drinks they give. certain drinks they charge for regardless.
The barman called pedro who is on quite alot will serve the spaniards first regardless how long you have waited. The food is ok but quite repetative and is set up for the French who are so ignorant. The restrauntstaff work hard and so do the cleaners and room maids. They have nice pool areas one being covered in and warm. We shall never visit this hotel again oh yes !!! The entertainment is a joke. All in French and advertised in French. The Television has one english channel and that is sky news. They dont deserve our business they really dont !!!!! The beds are rock hard.

Room Tip: if you go ask for the newer side of the Hotel
