While walking around Puerto Marina in Benalmadena with 6 family members we stumbled on Toro at just about Lunch time. As we were feeling a little thirsty we decided to stop for a drink and while there we started to browse the menu. It sounded so interesting that we decided to stay and have lunch. We were not disappointed. The restaurant offers a number of Spanish favourites but normally prepared and served in an innovative way. The Russian salad was delicious as was the goats cheese salad with honey. The home made croquettes left everybody wanting more and the tuna tartare was delicious. I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant to anybody who enjoys their food. Will definitely visit this restaurant on my next trip to Spain.

The set menu that Toro offers is incredible, we went three times in the last few weeks and each time the food was impeccable. If you choose to have the set menu this is what it includes: Starters (you are given ALL of the following) -bread and dips to share, then the finest quality iberico ham with tomato toast, cheese and walnuts, then 6 croquettes, followed by a prawn pil pil. For a main we had a fillet steak with potato dauphinoise, asparagus and carrots - it was the best fillet steak we had ever tasted, it melted like butter in your mouth and the dauphinoise was perfectly cooked and utterly delicious. For dessert we were all given a Crème brulée with a fantastic dessert wine included in the price, to accompany the dish. All of this, everything i have just listed is only 25 euros per person, and every dish was expertly put together. We think Toro deserves every word of the rave reviews it has received, and we will never get tired of eating there, I would urge everyone to give it a go.

We (2 couples) were there for supper slightly over one week ago. We chose it because of the great comments we had read regarding their 35 Euros tasting menu with wine pairing. The restaurant is overlooking the marina set in a very ritzy location. It was difficult to find and when we did, we had to go through a Greek (same owner we think) restaurant to get to it. Bread with some kind of tomato spread was nice but we did not ask for it and it was NOT part of the set meal. Iberian ham and cheese was next which was quite nice. The wine with it was less appealing. Then, we had shrimp pil pil which is shrimp in bubbling hot garlic oil. The shrimps were small (nine for 2 people) , over cooked and absolutely tasteless. Again, the wine was not that great considering what inexpensive good wine is available all over Spain. As a main course, my wife and I chose the paella (dry and one of the more disappointing we have had to date) and the other couple chose the beef and fish which they seemed to enjoy. This was the first wine that we felt was worthy of the meal. Then, for dessert, we had their version of a creme brulé that was very sweet accompanied with a very sweet dessert sparkling wine...almost too sweet. On the plus side, the atmosphere was terrific, food just OK and wine less than what we expected for a place that is located where good wine is readily available. One minor negative was that, although it (the brad) was good, it is odd finding out that you are paying extra for something you did not order...even if this is customary. Service was good.

This restaurant was by far the best place we went to near Malaga. We ordered the tasting menu with the wine pairing, all courses were delicious and so was the wine. My favorite was the steak which was cooked to perfection. We had 5 big glasses of wine each and 5 courses for 35 Euros, so definitely good value for money. Both waiters were super friendly and very attentive. Good job! Would definitely recommend this place!!
