The hotel is nice. We stayed there for 1 week. We had a apartment at the streetside of the hotel. The sun comes up there so you can breakfast on your balcony. It is better to sit in a room with a view of the pool. The sun is there longer. There were many Brittish people. Everywere. Loud and present. They talk to eachother from balcon to balcon. The entertainment was nice, no more. The hill was not so bad.

We stayed at the benalmadena palace for one week in may and we thought the overall package here including the standard of accommodations, the nightlife and food was excellent. There was plenty to do here as we are a young couple. The 24 hour square was great for nightime entertainment as there were plenty of clubs and bars. The pool was great to chill out through the day. If you have children they pool attendant are really great with them and keep them busy and entertained. The food is ok on site but there are some really nice restaurants by the harbour where you can watch the yachts come in and out so i would probably not go half board. Overall an excellent location and good facilites. Oh and i have a lovely massage in the spa (heaven).

My partner and I spent Christmas and New Year at the 'Palace' and we both agree that this was by far the best holiday we have had. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we could tell that great pride had been taken to ensure friendliness and helpfulness of staff towards its customers and the cleanliness and presentation were to the highest standards.
The rooms were excellently equipped and presented simply but elegantly. Facilities throughout the hotel were excellent and you could literally spend days just at the hotel instead of venturing out because there was plenty to do.
This was our first time to Benalmadena as we always go to Tenerife, but have now decided this will be our destination as many times as possible from now on - we enjoyed it that much!
All in all, this is a great holiday destination, with something to cater for everyone and with the quality of this hotel, you are guaranteed a wonderful time.

We booked our own flights (last minute) ex Dublin (Ryan Air) and return to Belfast (EasyJet) and was offered the Benalmadena Palace as four star accommodation (studio) for under £100 each for a week in early March through one of the www sites.
What a choice! The hotel is brilliant. The rooms are spotless, the staff are to a man (or woman), professional, courteous and pleasant.
Our first room was ‘sans’ balcony, so we requested a change and were able to move to a rooftop studio after one night.
Not that there was a great deal else wrong with the room. It was just as the second room: clean, well furnished and while compact, plenty of space for two people.
The ‘attic’ studio we moved to had an unusual bedroom, with a sloping roof, (so mind your head!), but was well fitted out with cleverly designed mirrored wardrobes that snuggled into the available space, a proper mini kitchen (with microwave). It had all we could have needed had we had an overwhelming desire to actually cook more than morning or evening tea/coffee and snacks: we enjoy eating out, which turned out to be a reasonable – though no longer ‘cheap’ proposition.
The small balcony also benefited from not being overlooked by anyone, (other than the sun every afternoon and the stars at night), although being seated meant you couldn’t see below to the pool: you had to stand to see over the parapet.
Anyway, while this Costa has almost 10 kilometres of beach to choose from, the beaches are a mixture of man-made, sand and shingle, which means early spring winds build up waves and make entering the water treacherous, especially for non-swimmers and children.
Much of the activities are therefore pool based, though, given the early time of year, no one was venturing into the outdoor pool, choosing instead to enjoy the bright and open indoor pool, with sauna and steam room etc.
We had very good weather, with just one day of overcast weather, which turned out windy too, on one of the days we headed south to the wonderful beach at trendy Marbella, (man-made, soft sand and shallow, without waves), which saw everyone sitting inside!
Next visit: warm enough to swim and enjoy a day’s sunbathing! Such is the variations due to the changing seasons.
For summer information though, the main Malapesquera Beach, would be the busy beach near the hotel, being around 700 meters long and 50 meters wide and the promenade runs along the top, leading into the main tourist zone.
It takes you to the Benalmadena Marina and is where shops and cafes that ‘try’ to be trendy can be found (for real style: check out the ones in Marbella and district!).
Beyond the marina, you are into the Torremolinos, with its long beaches and a continuation of the town nightlife, reaching all the way to Malaga, and the convenient airport.
Can’t not mention too the interesting Benalnatura, a small nudist beach, accessible from the A7 coast road.
Driving from Benalmadena along the coast in the direction of Fuengirola, double back at the roundabout after Torrequebrada and before Torremuelle. You will see a concrete path down to the shore and a beach bar.
But, away from such distractions: The hotel is large (and very new, being only six years or so old) and offers 182 fully equipped studios and one bedroom apartments.
Self-catering guests can choose to pay for half board, which can be taken in any variation you want, which h is handy.
There is restaurant offering (unremarkable) buffet food and an attended chef grill, while the snack bar terrace is at the outside pool area (all day during summer season and limited hours during winter), where many spring evenings began with the early ‘two-for-one’ Happy Hour’ at ‘teatime’.
Speaking of Happy: We usually dismiss the hotel entertainment, and head out to the brighter lights around, but quickly found that the in-house (even out of season) entertainment was the best!
Don’t expect Las Vegas shows, but do expect to get lots of enthusiasm, a real opportunity for participation and a good laugh!
Helped of course by the (much) later second Happy Hour at the bar, with the overall ‘craic’ carried on until after 2am: but then we’re (just) over 50 and have found, almost universally, that the (slightly) older generation know how to enjoy themselves on holidays – or at least –‘our crowd’, as we came to know them did!
What a holiday: and all just last minute: What must it be like in the season?
Oh! Moreover, to the comments on ‘The Hill’.
We hired a car on arrival, (at @ £80 for eight days) so it didn’t count, but I can see that on a hot summer’s day, after the ‘dander’ along the long promenade (where there’s lots of shops and restaurants to enjoy), it would be a hard slog up the final slope. So, just be aware of that.
Also: on building work: there is nowhere in Costa del Sol that doesn’t have building sites, and there was indeed work going on towards the landward side of the hotel, which I would say will be completed by summer season 2007.
The secret is, if you are not happy with your accommodation: ask to change! Politely, buy firmly; tell them you are not happy: they will do their utmost to look after you.
We had no complaints: so get on the www. and check out the opportunities just a three-hour flight even from Belfast.
It is well worth it!

Myself, my wife and 2 kids (2&5 years old) went to this hotel during the easter holidays, everything went perfect flights to and home plus the added bonus of a fab hotel. The hotel is spotless and always being cleaned during the day. We had rain for 4 days of the holiday but it did not bother us as the indoor pool/SPA and entertainment etc kept us busy and the kids had a ball in the kids club. The kids entertainers were superb and had games for the kids untl 4pm then a mini disco every night from 8.30 to 10.00 and then brought the kids to the cinema in the hotel at 10.00 to watch a movie and you could sit and have your drinks in piece during the happy hour.

The hill was not a problem as you cut half it out using the carpark. Food very reasonable, only €38 for the four of us for a starter, main course and desert.

We are planning to go again this year as the kids want to go back as soon as possible. Most people we meet were back there fourth and fith times, I think that tells what good quality this hotel offers.

Hi we booked 1 week to the above hotel through Flyglobespan, easter week to start the holiday we were delayed 5 hours on the way out, once we got there at 2am the hotel had a problem with our room so we were moved to the hotel next door the Vista Mar, beds terrible couldn't sleep a wink. Went to hotel at 11am to book in hotel room was still not ready, however we were given a voucher for 4 free drinks and told to return at 1230 and our room would be ready. Room was clean, comfortable, sky tv, fridge, hob, microwave, iron, ironboard, telephone, hairdryer(although next time i would take my own kept overheating and cutting out) the hotel its self had an abundance of activities on during the day and the entainment in the evening was catered for all ages. The weather wasn't too great so the indoor pool, sauna and jacuzzi was great, kids had a ball. The hill wasn't too bad although when raining very slippy. The puerto marina is well worth a visit, beautiful during the day and in the evening, lots of restaurants, bars a little bit expenisve. Took a trip to selwo marina, great day out if you have kids, dolphins, seal lions, bird, snake shows, pengiuns right next to the park with birds, goats, kids playgrounds, lake etc. The only thing about benalemedna was the main road, very busy like wacky races you have to watch children very carefully, watch out for the scratch card touts. Would recommend it to anyone with families and this hotel is fab for families and couples alike will definately be going back in the summer. If you like golf the torreqbara golf course is just a few mins in a taxi 90 euros to play, fabulous course, staff brilliant, great game of golf. mijas golf course, not so great would not recommend.

my husband and i went on 17th jan for a week, took both mums with us one had never been abroad or flown before. we were so suprised at the high standard when we arrived as we booked a cheap last minute on half board. the rooms were on the ground floor level ,yes there was building work going on opposite but they started at 8am and we did not find this a problem, we dont go on holiday to stay in bed. the hill is bad but we hired a car. The food in the restauraunt was first class, superb choices. our rooms were kept clean by the maids, the staff in all areas were great. there was entertainment every night if you wished. There is so much to do and see in this area that i would recomend car hire. We will be returning next year as we could not fault anything.
