second year in a row and cant wait until next year already. this hotel really is fabulous especially for kids. Extremely clean and very friendly staff. Kids club and staff is totally professional and never once did i see a miserable child. the staff are excellent, friendly and speak excellent english and never forget a childs name. the pool area is so clean and kids pool is a great depth and u feel relaxed enough to sit on your lounger and let them play away. food is very tasty and well presented although i did get a little fed up eating in the same place but that is no reflection on the hotel. the hill is steep on the way up but if you are in good health it will keep you fit. i certainly wouldnt let it put you off as i had 2 prams to get up it but the hotel more than makes up for it. if you have children you really will not be disappointed with this hotel.

Room Tip: the hotel is quite expensive for drinks and beers so make sure you stock up the fridge in your room!

I would particularly recommend this hotel to parents with children between 3 – 12. They also have a great mini-club boasting excellent facilities, with a very committed team (special thanks to Sandra who has so much energy and is quite amazing with the little ones and also Tadeo who is also very good with kids and patient when entertaining adults late at night…!). Great entertainment team!

The food was good (once again, especially for the price). However, we recommend more vegetables cooked simply in water, and not so much grease, or what seemed to be ‘oil cooked’…but apparently the Brits were happy with that style of cooking ;-)

The only thing I would strongly recommend to this establishment is to not allow people to smoke around the children’s swimming (some people can be really uncivilized).

All in all, a good stay, with all staff members very helpful and friendly during our 10 day stay.

Keep up the good work…!

So having booked our holiday thru Thomas Cook flexibletrips we were really looking forward to going to this hotel for my birthday week! Arrived 1030pm to be told that there was no room for us! We were only staying SC for 4 nights and booked months ago. The guy at reception was trying to make things better but no real explanation was provided for the reason we were not given a room. We were given a room in the Vistamar hotel next door instead and he kept telling us its a better room and we could use all facilities with free breakfast thrown in - he didn't seem to understand that having months to obsess over our holiday that we wanted to stay at the Palace. However he did tell us there were a few other families and groups in the same position it seemed to be the norm.
We waited 5-10mins to be shown by security to the next hotel. In that time there were 3 different people at the desk complaining about several different things.
We didn't really use the facilities but did have the buffet breakfast which had a great selection and variation, couldn't fault that.
BTW our stay at Vistamar hotel was fantastic, relaxing and with less children so more suited to couples who were wanting a quiet and relaxing time.

Ok, so there were 6 of us adults staying here for our friends 50th and we had a great time. We stayed for four nights from May 2nd untill the 6th.The hotel is lovely, yes there is a short but steep hill to walk up but if your fit like us it was no problem. The reception is really nice and we got checked in no problems at 8pm. We decided to have a meal in the restaraunt and it was ok, not a massive choice but what we had was nice and filled a hole, lovely salads, fruit, desserts and the meat from the grill was tasty, we only ate there this once as we were just on a short break so cant comment on breakfast or lunch.
The view of the rather interestingly shaped pool!!!!! From the bar terrace is nice, we had a view of the front of the hotel looking onto mountains and the sea which was nice.
The pool area through the day was great, it was quiet, no loud music blasting and not loads of kids either which wouldnt have bothered us if there were like but i was very impressed with the life guards, they were very vigilant around the pool and as soon as someone left a cup or any rubbish they cleaned it straight up, in fact the pool area was cleaned all day and was spoltless. The hotel rooms were ok, nothing flash but clean and comfortable, the rooms are big and loads of cupboard space and hangers, all the rooms have an iron and an ironing board so no need to take a travel iron, they also have hairdryers as well.
The surrounding area is lovely, if you walk down the hill and turn left at the bottom the first bar you come to is a nice irish bar called the halfpenny something????? Get yourself in as it is a great little place, it became our local meeting point and we had a great laugh in there, the staff are very friendly and they do a cracking breakfast for 5 Euros.
We walked along the seafront promanade along to the marina which is just beautiful, theres a great bar called Mombassa but be careful if you have had a few drinks, we ordered 6 mojitos and sent them back as tasted awful, second lot were much better, we had a fab meal in a place in the marina called El Mero, very posh but a lush view of the boats and the paella was very nice.
I would highly recommend this hotel and resort to couples, groups of friends and im sure families would enjoy it as well. Will def visit again as we all loved it. Weather was hot, the beer and vodkas were flowing, the beach nice and the craic was funny, what more could you possibly want xxxxx

Room Tip: Rooms to the front overlooking the mountains and the sea was lovely and very quiet x

It is not a horrible place but there were several issues. The bed blankets grossed me out. They were so dated I would not use them. Wifi stopped working along with our key care to get in and out of parking garage. This is a kids place so if you do not want that atmosphere go elsewhere.

My husband and I stayed here for a week in April/may self catering.
When we arrived we were over the moon with the apartment we were staying in. It was a decent size, plenty of storage space, large bathroom with a fantastic large mirror and a few little extras, shower gel, hand soap, shower cap, tissues and shoe shine. There was also plenty of loo roll, which always comes in handy on hols, there is nothing more embarrassing than having to call to reception to request more.
We had a beautiful sea view. We had a super large double sliding wardrobe with floor to ceiling mirrors, which also is great on holiday, to actually being able to see what you are wearing!! :-)
The apartment was clean and everything we needed was there. ironing board, iron, kettle etc etc.
THE HOTEL IS AT THE TOP OF A VERY VERY STEEP HILL. We asked at reception is the hill the only way out, she told us yes, but actually there is a back way out, which is an easier walk and takes you right to a large supermarket. You will need your room key for this access. We arrived at the gate and found about 6 people standing unaware of what to do.
There is not much near the hotel at all, some nice café/restaurants and bars, but we could not find ANYWHERE that done entertainment at all, no music whatsoever. we asked about incase we were missing something but were told there is nowhere.
Reception gave us the information that fuengirola market was on I think was the Tuesday. reception ordered us the taxi, we told the taxi driver that we wanted to go to the market in fuengirola, he took us, charged us the 20 euros. Then we discovered that the market would not be on as they have a large event on at the weekend a bit like a continental market of beer and food. We were very disappointed that the reception did not provide us with the correct information before travelling the whole way there. Most other people seemed to be aware of this event as its quite popular!!
We did try the entertainment bar in the hotel one night. We were enjoying it and it seemed to be not a bad place to come for a little entertainment as there is nothing anywhere else. BUT bar staff seemed to feel that it was more important to serve the all inclusive guests before us who were paying for our drinks. I was waiting quite a while for the bar staff to take my order, he did when we made a point of calling him to us, he took our order, but left us sitting for another five minutes. Now this bar wasn't busy like a night club bar!! I noticed that the bar man was still taking orders from other guests and serving them their drinks. I just assumed he had forgotten and re ordered from the second bar man. The first bar man who took our drinks shouted something in Spanish and the second bar man just walked off. None of them explained why we were being left sitting while they served other guests. I had had enough and left. I did go to reception about 5 minutes later, they were not very interested in the problem, phoned to the bar and sarcastically said to me 'your drink is at the bar now if you want to go and get it'
We were not drunk, it was only our second drink. I believe the reason they left us was because the all inclusive guests stop getting free drink at 11pm, I think it was nearing this time and they were rushing to serve the free drinks out, before the guests had to pay. This would not have been a problem, if someone had of bothered to give us an explanation on why we were being ignored.
We ate at the restaurant twice, the first time we were very hungry and tired and had had a couple of drinks, we thought the food was lovely. We returned a few nights later and were very disappointed, staff were not as friendly as the first evening, and the food seemed to be of poorer quality.
Our room was like staying in a hostel made of cardboard we never got a proper nights sleep our whole stay.
We could hear everything, guests in rooms beside and above, going to the toilet, washing their hands, showering, clip clopping with their high heels across the tiled floor at all hours. Kids running up and down the corridor at 3.30am, click, clonk, click clonk opening and closing their room doors. Our room was only about 4 doors away from reception, so they would have been aware of the kids running up and down and opening and closing the doors. And everything echoes throughout the building. The bin men came most mornings at 4-4.30am, clashing the empty glass bottles into their lorry. The family above us felt the need every night to pull their beds about anything from 12am-3.30am. Then we could hear things going on that we really didn't want to!!!!!! As much as its nice to hear birds sing in the morning, but when I am on holiday I like a little lye in, so after being woke most of the night, hearing the wood pigeon woo woo wooing from about 5.30am was very annoying. I fully understand that a hotel cant stop nature, but there is no point in having black out curtains if the windows let in sound like they are open!
The hairdressers, spa, beautician was not open at all when we were there, so no option to nip in for a wee blow dry. My hubby tried to book a massage, but was told twice there was no booking spaces. The gym looked good, if your into that on hols.
Indoor pool was cold, with cold air conditioning blowing down on an already cold day. Kids running in and out of the steam room and sauna, so again after about 10 mins we got fed up and left. No point in sitting in the stream room, if the kids are allowed to run in and out letting the cold air in. and it was cold. lol The smell from the toilets in this area were vile.
If you like steak, you must visit a little restaurant along the beach front Benalmadena, the staff are soo friendly, extremely helpful and very appreciative of your custom. Its called 'Restaurante El Ventisquero' There argentina steaks are cooked to perfection and just beautiful!!!! Best steak ive ever had.
Torremolinos has some lovely shops and cafes, take the bus 110, its a lovely wee town. we took the bus to malaga centre, but wasn't worth the visit.
we will not return to Malaga as it was not the place for us.

Room Tip: If you want a good nights sleep, don't stay in room 320.
