The 'mini mountain' you have to climb to the hotel has always put off staying there but we got it at a great price,so we chanced it.The room was fine, although a little tired looking but given what we paid,it was ok.We where overlooking the pool so we had afternoon sun,but In the evening you will get the noise from people sitting out on the terrace. We thought the staff very friendly & helpful especially Manuel on reception & Monica in the snack bar.The hotel runs a free shuttle bus every half hour to take & pick up parts of Benalmadena. You can even access the hotel from the underground car park, this then cuts out the final ascent.A Dia supermarket is very near, just use the beach road, accessed from the pool area.We used the restaurant a couple of times & liked the fact that the weekly menu was displayed, so you could pick your nights in advance. We did think the club room a bit dismal but we didn't go for the entertainment.Overall we enjoyed the relaxed feel of the hotel & would go again.

This hotel is in a quieter part of Benalmadena, so excellent if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle. Its up a steep hill, but a courtesy bus between the hotel and resort is provided during the day if you're not up to the climb. Our room was clean, had all the facilities you need and a lovely view over the pool (excellent for afternoon sun). Being out of season (early February), there weren't many people there so the entertainment / atmosphere wasn't brilliant, drinks and food were reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and helpful.

One other thing I'd like to share, not related to the hotel - if you're visiting the area, take care there are pickpockets working there - they are close to the Castle Bil Bil and distract you by trying to give you flowers and put them in your pockets / jumper etc, saying they're to celebrate a saints day then tell you that the donation is too large. From talking to the locals it appears that irrespective of what the police try to do the court doesn't press charges because they're gypsies. Please take care and don't less this spoil your holiday.

Room Tip: Over the pool on the same side as reception was excellent for afternoon sun!

We booked a week her, last minute self catering bargain for January and had a brilliant time. Its a little bit out the of the busy part of Benalmadena but we didn't mind as we like walking. If you don't get lucky with the weather in winter you might struggle to find a good choice of bars or restaurants in the evening close by as it can get quite chilly and windy. We paid for 3 days of half board after a few days to save looking for places, dinner was lovely..drinks were extra, not even water was included. Breakfast was fine, 3 days was just enough though! The daytime was easy to find places to eat and drink as its a close to the beach with lots of really nice cafes overlooking the sea. Its a lovely walk to the marina which is gorgeous, don't miss it. You can get the bus cheap enough if you don't like to walk, we got the bus to torremolinos and ended up walking back. The hotel's also really near to Paloma Park, we never managed to get the free hotel bus as it was never on time but it drops off there too. The park was fantastic for a change of scenery, you'll be so surprised.. 3 cafes, a lake, rabbits, goats and birds. You can hire bikes and segways too.
Hotel entertainment was on a bit late, some shows 11.15 but just your usual stuff. Drinks in the bar were REALLY expensive..a local vodka and coke 5 euros so even in happy hour wasn't cheap.
Indoor pool was great for winter, it was open til 8. There was no shallow part for kids,1m50 all over. I was on my tip toes! Jacuzzi was so nice, as was the sauna and steam. Gym looked great but never tried it, just had a quick look. Snack bar was expensive as was the little shop but there's a big supermarket really close by.
The hill everyone talks about is a bit of a pain if you're going out 2 or 3 times a day, OK in proper shoes but not the best in heels or if you had a pram. The main road is quite busy at the bottom of the hill with trees in the middle of the pavement so not the best if you weren't steady on your feet.....or drunk! As others have said you can go down in the lift to the underground carpark and cut the hill in half but its really dark and not the nicest. Coming in that way you press a buzzer and reception let you in. I wouldn't want to be in there on my own late at night, bit creepy.
Rooms were a good size, lighting was rubbish, mirrors and hairdreyer were very good, full size iron and ironing board but only 6 coat hangers in a room that sleeps 3. We hired a safe but it wasn't secured in the wardrobe so not the best as someone could just pick it up and take it. Overall lovely winter break while it was snowing at home...how can you moan!!

if this is anyone's idea of a good even an average hotel/holiday you need to branch out.rude staff really bad food evening entertainment in a dark gungy room(really poor entertainment don't like to be on hols in a sunny place and have to go inside at night for entertainment bar like a dungeon anyway)kids club is only a token gesture(unless your Spanish)air con is v.weak we expected the hill so that wasn't an issue but i wasn't prepared for a two star hotel(at best)with four stars on the roof.....avoid

Room Tip: you will get what you given

We stayed for 1 week at the end of November.
I went with my partner & 5 yr old.

The rooms were lovely and clean & everything you need for self catering. We did a bit of both, we were self catering for the 1st few days then we upgraded to half board.
The food was lovely, there is something for everyone, the chef will cater for all needs.

The hotel kids club was great, Patrice, Sandra & Nadia are lovely. My daughter loved them all and didnt want to go home - i still cant get the kids club t-shirt off her.

It was my birthday while we were there & the staff made sure i had a great day - and i did!

My favourite part was the pilates - Nadia gives an excellent class.

Cant wait to go again.
Jane (Leeds)

Room Tip: Try and get a pool view room. The sun is out there all day.

me and my boyfriend stayed here in september 2012 in a studio apartment for a late summer break. on arrival we found the staff very friendly. they held our luggage as we were too early for check in and offered us a free drink coupon in their bar. when we were able to check in they assisted us with our luggage to our studio on the top floor. we were situated beside the lift and a bit aprehensive about noise from the lift however we were not bothered at all by noise and had a good night sleep each night. the studio which we booked was clean with all the essentials necessary for a self catering holiday. our towels were replaced and the room cleaned each morning. we asked advice from the hotel staff about local attractions and they were very helpful. the facilities at the hotel were very good. we were always able to get 2 sunloungers at the pool side by side no matter what time of day we went. some people have raised the issue of the hill, it was a concern initially however there is an alternative entrance to the hotel which requires your room key (a map of how to find this was on the back of the welcome page) and this is a very liesurely walk as opposed to the hill. we also found that you could access the car park and get the lift to the hotel which cut the hill in half.we were so pleased with our stay we have booked a return holiday in april with family and are very much looking foward to the good service and facilities once again.

We (me, wife and 7 month old son) booked here for a week in January via the web. We got a superb deal and I was a little apprehensive before arriving as the deal seemed too good to be true!

Once arrived though, I realised we'd found a little gem. We had a 1 bed apartment on floor 7. Clean, spacious and all you'd need for a self catering holiday.

The indoor pool was great (certainly not warm enough for outdoor pool in January!) and though we didn't eat in the hotel restaurant, we did have a few snacks in the pool bar and overall it was fine. However, only complaint is almost 5 € for a portion of fries is scandalous!

The staff we encountered were all friendly and went out of their way to ensure you were looked after.

The hotel is up a steep hill, but we'd researched this and were expecting it so was not a problem. The hotel is on the outskirts of Benalmadena and it's aboit a 20 min walk to the main area of bars, restaurants and shops. However there is a large supermarket a 2 minute walk from the hotel for essentials . We had hired a car and there was ample free parking outside for all but 1 day.

We'd definitely return to bith the hotel and the resort. Very happy.
