“Wish I was still there”
Reviewed July 14, 2010

Just returned from our week's holiday to the Bali. We booked half board accomodation from 2 July to 9 July. It was our second visit as we had stayed in the hotel at the same time last year. We loved the hotel and have no complaints whatsoever. It is a very good 3 star hotel. We were in Bali II again. This time just above the Sunny View cafe. We had a 4 bedded room with lovely sea views. The rooms were very comfortable and we had no problems sleeping as the air con keeps the room lovely and cool. There was maid service 6 days out of the 7 we were there. The breakfasts in the morning were lovely as were the evening meals. There wasn't one meal which I didn't enjoy. The staff in the bars and restaurant were very friendly and the young lady on reception was very helpful and polite and friendly too.

My kids loved the animation team - in particular Grant, Aaron and Torres and enjoyed taking part in the activities during the day. we also enjoyed the shows on a night, particularly Mamma Mia, Grease and Tropical night.

As we were flying back in the evening we booked a late chck out room which you can keep on until 6 pm. Perfect for us a we left the hotel at 5.30 pm. If you want a late room you need to book this in the uk as it is sometimes not possible to book one in resort as they hotel was pretty full when we were there.

All in all we had a fab holiday and will be booking again for next year.

All in a good place to be for all the family. 14 & 10 year old enjoyed the Animation teams "musicals" each night. Tip: If you aren't inclusive make sure bar staff don't give you house version of spirits rather than real McCoy. It happened regularly but I got used to it and just showed them my wrist (which was free of the inclusive band) and they would apologise and start again! Great eateries for all budgets, marina restauraunts excellent. USA's Jacks & Italian were both overlooking marina, very nice and reasonable: meal and pud for 2 adults & 2 kids + wine £40! The apartments were bright and clean, some noisy neighbours but heh you expect that. We would just turn noisey A.C. on and closed patio doors for peace and coolness! Staff were ok, but I did ask about nearest laundrette at reception and was sent on a goose chase towards Hotel Triton (if you need one I spotted one on walk up to train station from the hotel on 4th last day!). You can get a taxi 5 euros up to train station but the walk takes 10-15mins and fairly pleasant. Get a 2nd key card for your room or your fridge'll go off when you leave! Met someone who got the bummer of the ground floor in block 3 - they looked onto a concrete wall, and were off to complain. Also at night block 3 verandas were flooded with light from security light round the pool which was a bit blinding! But got used to it. My kids were righlty hacked off at having to pay 1 euro for ten minutes on the internet, particularly as it was so slow sometimes to get onto Google - they should give this as a free service. Out of the 3 resorts definatley glad we were in Benalmadena. Tore. toooo built up and Feun what we could see was full of Sex shops. Benalmadena great base for access to Malaga and Picasso museum (but 'mind it's closed on a Monday) by train and cheap. Tivolli was the biggest rip-off and much more suited for 7 y.o. and under only 3 rides that were suitable for their age group. Had to pay to get in (all of us) and then pay again for wrist band (for both of them!) The festival at Paloma park, which was still on for a few days when we arrived was much better for rides and atmosphere. Big market on Fridays at Tivolli was a let down, same stalls selling junk jewellery and tablecloth's, nothing unique. The car booty on a Wednesday at Paloma Park was even worse than Paddy's Market (old Glasgow flea market). Sooo disappointed by both, I was hoping for local arts, crafts and ceramics. Check out Paco's bar next to hotel for best homemade Sangria - fantastic atmosphere with locals during the World cup semi's. Just wish I had been there for the Final!

We stayed in the Bali first 2 weeks in June 2010.
The Hotel was busy the first week with a lot of kids running around but it was "Whit week".
Second week was a lot quieter.
Although this was an "all inclusive" hotel we went self catering in the Bali 3.

The rooms are huge and stunning !!!

Modern black tilling with complementary grey and orange décor, huge sleeping and living area and the quietest part of the hotel. The balcony's are also a lot bigger.
Very clean (although corridors could do to be re-furbished) towels every 2nd day and linen 3 times in the fortnight.
Staff helpful when we had a bit bother with electronic key but never really had to trouble them at all.
Recommend the PANDA Chinese just up the hill from the Bali... Brilliant food,Fantastic Owners and very very reasonable priced. i.e. 2 courses for 2 with bottle of wine and coffee £25

just returned from my first stay at the Bali Hotel. Its a great hotel in a good location in a cracking little resort. The Bali is 3 interlinked buildings (Bali I, II & III) located on a reasonably steep (but short) hill 5 minutes from the beach. All of the staff I encountered were incerdibly helpful and polite.

As a single traveller you often get a poor quality/limited facilities room. Not at the Bali. I was checked into a fantastic single, no smoking room on the 5th floor, with a great balcony, pool and sea view. The room was a small double containing 2 single beds (with very comfy matresses about 30cm deep) a mirrored sliding wardrobe with both hanging space and shelves (plenty hangers too). There as an electronic safety deposit box (with a very reasonable cost of €2 per day with a €3 returnable deposit). there was also a writing desk/chair and flat screen TV showing limited spanish/german/english channels. The well equipped modern bathroom had a full bath with shower over, sink vanity, WC and bidet. Huge mirror and a hairdyer and in case you've forgotten any essentials, some travel sided complimentary products waiting for my arrival. I even had 2 sets of towels!! The rooms are not equipped with tea/coffe facilities/ironing facilities or fridges (although you can rent a fridge from reception. housekeeping visited every day.

The restaurant is buffet style and is open for breakfast 08:00-10:30, lunch 13:00-15:00 and dinner 18:30-21:30. The food was suitable for all palates, was well cooked and well presented. There are also 2 pool bars, the bar and various vending machines selling snacks & cold drinks. you wont go hungry!

There are 2 pools both with children' s pools and are open early to late (advertised between 10:00-18:00 although was open earlier & later during my visit) and both areas have a lifeguard during the summer season. Both pools and surrounding areas were cleaned each day.

There are indoor smoking rooms in the main lobby, so smokers can have some respite from the sun. There are internet facilities and a 24 reception.

exiting the hotel take short walk down the hill, straight across the main road and continue down to the beach (approx 5 mins) there are steps down to the promenade, although if you turn right (or left) at the main road you will find more graduated steps or ramps to the promenade just a short walk away.

The dark sand beach is narrow in places, with a narrow band of larger grain sand/shell at the waters edge (little people might want to wear pool shoes). The beach has plenty beds and parasols (avg price for daily rental of 1 bed & parasol €4.50). there is a bit of beach that just out to your right as you look at the ocean. The water here seems to be clearer and you can also mert the family of ducks that visit the beach each day (they even have their own parasol, drinking water and bucket of lettuce and take frequent dips in the sea!! the kids will love it. The promenade is a lovely walk and is crowded with bars, restaurants (I can recommend Pinoccio's Louge bar (upstairs above Beny's cafe bar) for great food and a warm welcome. Other bars of note were Ma Brady's and Cheers) and "lucky lucky men" who sell replica bags/sunglasses/hats jewellery. The beach is frequented by beverage sellers, and lucky lucky men (a polite no and they will leave you alone)

The beautiful Paloma Park is 5 minutes from the hotel (turn right at the main road then right at Windmill roundabout ( you cant miss Windmill, its a big structure covered in childrens windmills). The park is full of ducks, chickens, doves, peacocks & rabbits all wandering around (you can also see emu's and deer and turtles - well worth a visit free entry - again your little people will love it.

walking left along the promenade you will reach the end of the beach, the sea life centre and the beautiful marina chock full of yachts, agin a lovely stroll and you can join a cruise around the marine, out to the bay and beyond from one of the many tourist boats.

There are some great venues for entertainment. left along the main road will bring you to 24 hour square where you will find discos and bars. if you exit the hotel and walk up the hill and around the corner you will find bonanza square, where there are lots of bars with some great music acts. I can recommend the Bonanza Bar and The Elephante.

You can easily reach the neighboring resorts, on foot, or by local bus. The resort has many taxi ranks and there is also a hop on hop off city sighteeing bus as well as resort street train

I had a great time both in the hotel and resort and will definately visit again

Hotel Bali was perfect for our holiday. Me and partner who are 18 and 20 wanted to enjoy a resort with as few rowdy teenagers as possible. There were a few youngchildren but we were able to peacefully sunbathe by the pool. The hotel was very clean and a maid came to tidy up and replace towels every morning. If you did not want to be disturbed you were provided with a "Do Not Disturb" sign and the maid would return when you had gone to breakfast or out. The food was really nice too, we went half board. It was a buffet style breakfast and tea and there was plenty to choose from. There were two pools in the Bali and plenty or room although we regually put out our towels to make sure we got the perfect spot for sunbathing. The weather was amazing, almost too hot but we would just quickly jump in the pool to cool down. The pools were very clean and not too busy. The hotel staff were very pleasent also, there were plenty of thompson reps to help us if we needed them. The reps in the hotel would provide info on day trips and also short scuba diving lessons were available in the hotel pool. Cheap internet was provided in the hotel also as well as entertainment on a night by the pool. The area where hotel Bali is situated was good, although the hotel is set on a slight slope it is not too steep to walk as some people exagerate. There a a few pubs on the way down the slope including the Albatros, where we played bingo and quizzes and won bottles of wine :) There is also a curry house at the end of the slope which is very nice, as well as cocktail bars and 24hr square (a complex of younger bars) further on towards Torremolinos. Nearer the hotel are small pubs for older ages which we perferred, these pubs were fairly quiet but we met a couple and made friends with the bar staff who were mainly irish and english. All over our holiday was amazing, the beach is fantastic and the people are polite. People d try sell you things on the beach and in the pubs but just firmly say no and they will go also there are plenty of cheap fare buses to run you to different owns to do some shopping. The Bali hotel is friendly and pleasent and we wouldnt go anywhere else as we are due back there for 2weeks in Aug! Oh and visit Aqua world!!!
