We arrived at approximately 9pm and were greeted by warm and helpful staff at reception who checked us in promptly and showed us to our room.Room was on the 9th floor with a view of the mountains which was great to wake up to in beautiful sunshine. The breakfast was superb, every food imaginable available and freshly cooked omlettes etc on request which were cooked in front of you.The pool area was excellent, plenty of sunbeds, didnt have to get up early to beat the germans either!!lol!Entertainment was on every night, plus aqua aerobics in the afternoon. The hotel is situated right on the seafront, simply go through the gate in the pool area and you are there.Supermarkets, banks, tobacconists are only a stones through away plus the beautiful harbour is a 2minute walk. All in all,a fab place to stay in a great place, will be going back soon :-)

Our evening flight arrival meant that we arrived at the hotel after the evening meals had finished for the day. Being tired after our flight from the UK we were a bit peckish and really needed some food before retiring to our room, since we had not eaten for a number of hours. The hotel staff were most accommodating at check in and arranged for a set cold meat salad meal for us, just right as we would soon be going to be sleeping. To our amazement we had been given an upgrade room, one of only a few that looked directly towards the sea. Fantastic... The room located at the east end of the corridor was very spacious, with a double bed for each of us, blackout curtains, TV etc. Only 1 English speaking TV channel (BBC World Service) and a large bright bathroom, with all needs fulfilled. Our view from our huge balcony overlooking the vast Marina to the North, accross the Mediteranian Sea to the East and along the coast South towards Africa (not visible) was huge and brilliant, it also had 2 sunbeds, 2 chairs and a table spaciously located on one half of the balcony. Air conditioning lights etc, only works when your key card is plugged in and the patio doors are closed. Place a piece of card / old credit card in the key card slot to have the A/C running all day when you are not in the room at the height of summer to ensure a cool (even cold) room on your return.
The food at breakfast time was of a wide variety, ranging from pastries, cold meats, cheeses, breads and a vast array of fruits, Wine 'con gas' (not quite Champagne), teas, coffees and fruit juices. For those with a larger appetite, there was also bacon, eggs cooked every way, sausages, crepes, yoghurts, nuts and rolls. A great selection to choose from, and all well presented considering the numbers of diners at the time. Our 'package' was for 'half board' so we ate very healthily at breakfast, and then again in the evening, with only a Sangria or two in between. Evening meals were (in our opinion) not as good, the choices were quite plain with a limited choice of main courses to choose from, however there was always the breads, rolls, fruit, and pastries to fill in any 'gaps'. We did feel we were back at school, as it did have that 'school dinners' feeling about it as everyone busttled about selecting their food, and with the food being quite plain. I'm sure the reason for the food being 'safe' was to cater for 'all' without offending, however this was our first 'meals included package' so we did not really know what to expect and we did not want the hassle of searching for suitable eating places nearby. These were plentiful and of good food choice, (very reasonable) pricing and culture. The only real downside of dining in the evening in the hotel was that ANY or ALL drinks were at an additional cost - even water, which needed to be paid before leaving the 'dining room'. On our next visit we will go B&B only since there are so many good palces to eat on the Prommenade or at the near by Marina (300m away).
The swimming pools were great as there was no chlorine in the water - no stinging eyes :) and there were plenty of sunbeds scattered around the gardens, and in the evening there was entertainment in the bar area next to the gardens.
We did have one misshap, we got stuck in a lift between floors for a few minutes. We rang to alarm bell and tried calling on the phone - which did not apear to be working, and after pressing buttons a few times the lift stopped at a floor, where we got out. We reported this 'incident' to the reception staff after our release, but sadly they did not seem to too concerned... :/
The hotel was nice and airy, and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful - apart from our lift incident. They did not know of the M128 (airport) bus route and could not advise on it. The M128 bus stops right outside the hotel and is an 'express' bus to the airport, very cheap and takes no more than 40 minutes - it does have air conditioning. It is a new service as 'locals' were trying to board it to go to the next village, but the driver clearly informed then that the bus was not stopping at every stop but going to the airport. I recommend the bus, but check out the timetables to and from the airport first. We had a great time at this hotel, some small gripes but it was a great place to stay, right at the beach, near the marina, and generally at the centre of things - unlike other nearby hotels. It was not noisy at night even though our room was almost above the bar entertainment - which did not go on too late (about 11pm). Have a great visit to this friendy area of Spain.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms *39, *40 and *41 are huge with larger balconies / rooms and are close to the glass tu...

A lovely hotel built in 1961. Lots of quiet spacious reception rooms, retro design, very well maintained. Loved the lifts on the outside of the buildings!

Our room was large with a double bed each. The matresses were firm and comfortable and the pillows were great. Blackout curtains added to a good night's sleep. We heard no noise at all from neighbouring rooms even though they were full, so soundproofing between rooms was adequate. However despite being on the 9th floor, we could hear some road noise at night as we were at the side of the hotel.

The pool area was the nicest I have ever been to, set in lovely mature gardens. There were plenty of sunbeds at any time of the day. Lots of shade and gardenend areas to sunbathe in away from the pools - 4.

The restaurant was less like a canteen than many restaurants of hotels of this size. The food was plentiful with a large choice and different themes every night. However there were queues for freshly cooked eggs and crepes in the mornings, would suggest a second chef is required on this counter!
Half board is excellent value.

My only negative comment is that there is no satellite TV for British viewers, that is why I have only given 4 stars out of 5. We missed our news updates!

Otherwise an excellent hotel, very good value and good location. With very efficient hardworking staff.
We will return in the future.

We visited Triton Hotel at the end of August 2012. First experience on arrival was bad as the male receptionists were unfriendly and unhelpful. They didn't explain anything about where our room was or the restaurant or anything. We were hauling our luggage up and down steps and corridors. We didn't know where to go. Only for the friendly porter, he was able to explain to us where our room was. After that incident, everything was perfect. Our room was nice and modern. It was cleaned everyday. No complaint about the air conditioning or the pools. It was a breath-taking view looking out the balcony at the palm trees and pools and the crowded beach and the sea. Paradise ! :) The food and the restaurant was excellent. Half board was perfect plenty of food choices. Nobody left the restaurant hungary anyway. The bar staff wasn't too friendly either. Although Sandra the dancer was so approachable with her lovely smile and she was a great dancer! The water aerobics was great fun. Location was excellent. Walking on the sea prominade, just outside the gates of the hotel, to the Marina was just gorgeous. There was hundreds of people walking that area everyday til mid night which was beautiful. The shops and stalls along that area was lovely. There was hardly any english language to be heard in the hotel and on the prominade. I would of loved to ask questions about the area but the language barrier was a problem. We visited Torremolinos via the bus one day. It couldn't be easier to get there as the bus conductor was really helpful. Torremolinos is a great place to shop. The shops are in a nice location which brings a very Spanish vibe which is lovely. Our visit to Gibralter wasn't so good. Obviously there was beautiful sunshine with over 30 degrees everyday. Overall our holiday was most enjoyable and we would definitely come back to Triton.

Just returned from a 7 night stay with my husband and 8 year old daughter. The Hotel is prodominantly Spanish so no English friends for my Daughter to make but she still had a good time. The location of the Hotel is second to none and the pool area and gardens are large and very well maintained. Lots of sunbeds in sun with shade if required and due to the position of the sun terraces you can sun bath until early evening. Food was good overall, typical spanish buffett at breakfast and dinner with plenty of choice. Only complaint was coffee machine broken all week which ment queueing at the others and made up juice, not fresh, which wasn't very nice. All the staff at the Hotel were very polite and friendly especially the entertainment team Sandra and Miriam who organise various activities throughout the day for young and old! We had requested a high floor, quiet room and we got just that. Super large room which was spotlessly clean. Beds comfortable and spacious bathroom with excellent shower. Towels on some days were of a poor quality, I guess the Hotel replace them ongoing as necessary, however some definitley needed to be replaced and soon! Overall a very enjoyable weeks holiday.

Room Tip: Request a room at the front of the Hotel over looking the gardens and sea on the seventh floor, if y...

I was disappointed that the hotel is classed as 4 star so that's 3 star in our ratings. It is not 3 star. There are huge parts of the hotel that are not used anymore which makes the place feel like a ghost town. The hotel seems pro dominantly Spanish. I only heard 3 young girls on the pool speaking English in our 4 night stop. You had to pay extra for the safe which seemed excessive as the hotel wasn't cheap in the first place. I had hoped the fact that we had paid a bit more we would get better surroundings. The bar area by the pool just gets messy as the day goes on there is noone cleaning or tidying these areas. The beds are as hard as a rock with 1 flat pillow. I should have used by extra baggage allowance to bring my pillows from home. The hotel is old and past it's best.

Spent 2 weeks here as a family of 4 here and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The animation team (Sandra & Miriam) were excellent and made the holiday. The hotel was good but it would not have been the same without Sandra and Miriams hard work throughout the day and night keeping adults and children fully entertained and well very well done. My 2 children particularly liked the awards of medals and certificates in the evening at mini disco following the days activities. The hotel grounds and fresh water pools are excellent. The room and food was good and I found the hotel staff friendly and helpful and they worked hard especially the bar staff.
