“2* accommodation but lovely pool and garden”

About us: I am in my mid 30's and my husband early 30's, My husband owns his own building company and I work on the service desk for a telecommunications company.we have a ten year old daughter.

This is our opinion of our holiday at this accomodation.

We stayed 31/05/2011-07/06/2011 for one week

Ralph (Owner) met us in he's car from the train station 5 minutes away. We had taken the train from the airport which is really easy and only costs 5 euro for all 3 of us. The trains are lovely, air conditioned and run on time. Stations are announced in English and spanish and there are screens for you to see the next station etc. Its easy I promise.

Ralph drove us to the apartment and showed us around, as we arrived late at night Ralph had got us some bits we had previously requested which we paid him for on arrival. We paid our 100 euro deposit.

The apartment is very compact with a single bed in the lounge kitchen area and a double bed in a seperate room. (you cannot walk around the bed as walls on 3 sides )The bedroom which is sort of made up of boulders plastered over to make the walls smelled damp if you left the door closed all day. It also has a compact bathroom with shower etc.

Towels are provided.

You will need mosquito repellent as there is a 2cm or so gap under the front door and mosquito's come in at night. Bring travel plug adaptors too.

The kitchen/self catering area has ample work surfaces, kettle (NO IRON so bring ur own) a washing machine and a fridge. There are plates glasses bowls, pots n pans etc.

The kitchen only has 2 gas rings as means of cooking food,
No toaster,
No oven
or grill etc so u can only heat things up, not actually cook anything!! which we found very difficult. Not even beans on toast can be made.
However my fault for not reading the description on holiday lettings. I just assumed with it saying self catering area it had ample cooking fascilities. It did state BBQ but there wasn't one nor were we offered use of one. So we were really limited for meals as there is only so much fried in a pan food you can stomach.

local supermarket (10 min walk down hill) got our shopping water juices cereal sandwich stuff etc, you can get everything you need, but OMG its such a hill coming back to the apartment especially with heavy shopping.

There is a local Kwik save and a spanish super market a couple of restaurants and bars, we got take out chicken curry n chips one evening which was lovely and cost about 17 euro's. You do have to climb a steep hill to get back to the apartment.

Great for the train though, although it is a walk up a steep hill back to the apartment from the train station, gettin the train is easier than walking back up the hill from the places local to the apartment.

We got the train to torremolinos every day or night as it is buzzing with bars cafes restaurants of all food kinds, loads n loads of gift shops n of course the wonderful beach. It only cost 5 euro return for all 3 of us on the train. The beach is lovely and there is plenty to do. You can also go to Benalmadena or fuengirola which are only a short hop on the train.

The pool area outside the apartment is lovely. The pool is ample for a family and there are sunbeds and table and chairs. The view of the sea is really stunning and the outside area is kept very clean and maintained well.

The owners have 7 cats all having been rescued etc, Benjamin being our favorite, we wanted to take him home with us.

This reviewer admits to not reading the description on Holiday Lettings.
If she had done so then would have seen that Toaster, Iron, Hair Dryer and Bar B Q are always available. The intercom was not used to resolve her problems. We admit to being on a hill (see description). Some visitors have used supermarket trolley or taxi to move shopping to apartment. How do you have stunning sea views without being on a hill?
There is no steep hill between train and apartment. Any room will smell if the door is shut all day after sleeping in it. In warm & moist conditions near the sea visitors to Spain should come prepared to deal with mosquitos and other insects. The gap under the door is irrelevant. There was no complaint on arrival from this reviewer.
