A lovely house in a delightful town. As a previous reviewer as mentioned, the owners have gone to great lengths with the restoration. The handmade wood and beautiful carvings, sit seamlessly with this historic house. It is very well equipped, spotlessly clean, with high quality mattresses. The shaded garden, accessed from the ground floor (kitchen is first floor) is charming. The house is centrally located in a lovely narrow street off the Kinzig, just a couple of minutes walk from restaurants, cafes, brewery shop and the Monastery. There are lovely and easily accessed walks either side of the valley rising to around 700m, mostly in Pine forest. The town sits on the cycle route to Offenburg, along the Kinzig valley, passing through a number towns, including beautiful Wolfach and Gegenbach. The public lido, a few minutes drive or 45 mins. walk away in a neighbouring village is perfect for all ages with diving board, slide, cafe etc... The locals are very friendly, the Alpirsbach beer of very high quality, and finally, I'd recommend the Black Forest Gateau at the very friendly Am Kloster Konditorei.
This is a very special house in a lovely small town.We loved the garden and the river flowing at the end of it.
The stairs were a little daunting-very steep-so not for the elderly or unfit but definitely part of the character of the house which had been restored very nicely.
Loads of flexible sleeping accommodation and an amazing choice of bedding-quilts for all seasons!
Lots of lovely restaurants and shops very nearby.Well served by supermarkets.
