“Hameau Des Teppes Apartments”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 27, 2014

Where do I begin, I stayed here in January 2014 with my sister and friend. It is advertised as a four star accommodation with Crystal Ski holidays, unfortunately it is at best two star. The entrance door opens directly into the bunk bed area with wardrobe. The bathroom is quite large but unfortunately the bath is a tub, the overhead shower has no shower rail. The sittingroom/kitchen also doubles as a bedroom. The sofa beds are so hard and narrow we had to swap the mattress from the bunk beds to the sofas to get a nights sleep. The only good thing I can say about this place is its location, we did ski into it and it is conveniently located to the village.

Room Tip: Do not choose the studio apartment.

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2012

We stayed at this residence in February 2012. While the reception was a bit tricky to find in the middle of the night, the appartment did the trick. Please bear in mind, this is not a 5 star residence. The bathroom is rather small, but we managed to make it work with 4 adults.
It is conveniently located for the slopes and the reception was always helpful. They also provide free boardgames.
Point to note: you will need to pay for parking there. For 3 days, we had to pay EUR35.

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2010

we booked through crystalski for myself, husband and 2 kids age 9&10. the apartments were very basic. we booked the apartment for 2-5. kitchen had a fridge and only a 2 ring hob. no oven which i felt would have made a big difference. we lived on spaghetti bolognese and on a couple of occasions we ordered pizza to our rooms which were about 12 euro each. the bedroom was in a type of attic with not much head room. there were 3 beds upstairs and a fourth mattress was on the floor. it was a bit claustrophobic but managable for a week. there were ski lockers at the enterance to the apartments. the apartment had a separate bath and the toilet was so small that when you sat on the toilet, your knees were on the wall! I would go back though, because the location was really great. although like someone has already said there is a main reception at one end of the village where you check in, then if I am right, there are 2 or 3 different sections to the apartments, we were just lucky with our location I suppose which was just at the bottom of the creve couer drag lift and chair right up to the top of the mountain and on the other side of the apartment was another lift.

we found Valmorel to be really expensive. a guide to eating out at most of the places for lunch on the pistes were about 12-14 euro for lunch including a drink. cans of coke or any pop were 3.50 euros. Prices at the supermarkets were also extortionate, even the guy from the place we used to get our expensive chicken and chips would tell us that the supermarkets were very expensive. he told us it was much cheaper to drive 20 mins down the road to the supermarkets as they were cheaper. skiing was great and as a family this was our 2nd week skiing and was absolutely ideal for just cruising around and the feeling that you have travelled.

If you want any more info please email me and i would be happy to help. [--]

This place was built circa 1983 in the old French style - ie, cheap and nasty - and obviously hasn't been touched since. The studio we rented was dark, musty, had a large hole in the wall (apparently someone punched right through it) and the toilet smelled of vomit. The common areas (lift, stairs...) were dirty, badly maintained and littered with garbage. You have to make up the beds yourself - they give you a plastic bag with sheets at the reception, which for some reason is on the other side of the village. For 70 Euros a night, I would expect something much better. On the plus side, it was close to the ski lifts. Overall, a pretty dreadful experience. I won't be going back.

Many thanks for your review. We are sorry that you had such a negative stay in our residence. We are happy to confirm that we will be carrying out refurbishments at the resort in time for next season. We urge customers that whenever they are not happy with a room they are assigned that they must request another with reception immediately. Regardless of this fact, cleanliness is important to us and any slip in standards will not be tolerated. We are so sorry for this inconvenience and we will speak to our cleaning teams to ensure our strategy is as effective as possible. Pierre & Vacances are a self-catering residence and not a hotel. We have an additional charge for bed linen and making of beds which is specified on our website. We apologise again and this will be passed onto our head office for further investigation.
