Fantastic mountain restaurant hidden away on a tiny track off a quiet run. One small sign directs you down a narrow ski track (would be scary for beginners) to a beautiful small mountain hut. Service, lunch and wine were excellent and good value for Megeve. Book ahead as it is very small - one of the best mountain restaurants we have ever visited!

On seeing the sign to the restaurant from the piste myself and three grown up children decided to sample this off the beaten track (but not too difficult) restaurant and were very happy to have been squeezed in (normally a call in advance is required due to its small size).

Food, ambience and service were excellent ... do make the effort to make a booking and take the time to enjoy.

lovely, traditional place, in the middle of the slopes. Alps atmosphere to enjoy, great quality food.
you have to go skiing, but it is worth it!!

I don't know why this is listed under St Gervais as its in the Megeve ski area. Anyway have been there twice now. It's quite a hike to get there and you have to take your skis off a couple of times but it is a great place for lunch. Booking essential as they have very few tables and no credit cards. there is a less tiring way to get there off piste but you need to know your way. Half our party attempted this and had to climb a long way back up having gone too far down.

Food is quite simple and meaty and not gourmet but that is the style of the place. You have a couple of small tables and a couple of large ones and they will sometimes put you with another group. The lady who runs everything is charming and couldn't be more helpful. I made the mistake of wishing one of the cooks good day on the way out and he grunted at me in a very miserable fashion. Not surprising considering the size of his kitchen!

Worth a visit.

If you are not afraid of walking 30 minutes in the mountain, it is worth trying. A great place with a great view. And the food is not the typical mountain food. You will be offered a variety of plates not typical of the region. The wine is also very interesting (mostly from Alsace vineyeards). Just check their web site http://www.esi.mont.blanc.free.fr/rav.htm
