“Desaster!!!!! poor infrustrure, horrible service, good design but cheap furniture”

Les Thermes de Saint Gervais Les Bains
Reviewed December 24, 2012

We were 3 adults and one child of 3yo holiday in megeve, since we quite like therme and been visited a few around Swiss France aples we decided to try out parc thermes st gervais.
In the morning we called for infornation and confirmed kid is allowed( some therme doesnt welcome kids uner certain age). At reception we were told we will have to pay 25euros for the 3yo which is unusual. The reason they gave is to dis encourage kids enter the thermes. I can kindly understand that some relaxing establishment need exclude kids and noise, however, why don't they just say in the rule that kids doesn't allowed? If they decided to allow kids then be ready to welcome them as normal guess.
Anyway, that doesn't effect much our mood, after paying, a young woman in uniform come to tell us instructions, she was very rude. Also they told us locker room is in the male change room! So we girls had to change ourself in a small place and entered male changing room in bikinis with bags and coat!!
Finally we arrived inside and was lost no directions were given on the wall. after we figoured our way we were so disapointed, we thought it was much bigger on the map they gave to us. There is only a 20sm max round pool outdoor with VERY cold water for therme standards, and no views only surrounded by ugly bush! Inside, I think they tried some contemporary designs for relaxing area, but used very cheap uncomfortable hard plastic ikea sofa chairs. We were so cold and we couldn't stay in the water long, we rushed into Turkish bath to warm up, only found out the shower in the service area was only cold water!!!!!!! We asked the service lady, she told us the cold shower was expressly cool us down in case we were too hot in sauna, the warm water shower is only outside!!! By then we really had enough, especially even the fruit they offered in the relaxing area is dirty and with rotten part. We had enough of this cheap place and decided to leave immediately.
The worst problem is about to come, the mysterious hot shower is outside the Bain area and outside changing room, it's at corridor just after reception! What a logical design. We finally found it and confirmed with the same rude service lady if the water is hot or cold here. She simple rolled her eyes and answered middle. Even got treated like idiots, we were still longing for a hot shower, we were standing in the corridor with bikinis exposed to all outside guests we haven't paid and fully dressed, we were cold and tired. And finally the water was COLD!!! The rude lady rolled her eyes again and said I dunno why but cest comme ca today!!!
By then I was furious, for 30 euros per adult and 25euro for 3yo, this place is not only infrustrure limited but soooo horrible serviced. The kid start coughing and she didn't even try to apologize or let alone find out why the only hot shower is not working!!!! For her it's just our bad luck!
Honestly it is the worst therme I have ever been and one of the most expensive, the total experience is disaster and avoid if you can!!!

Absolutely everything - so relaxing & so luxurious. Must book ahead for any treatments though as they always seem to be busy

We weren't actually able to experience this place properly in the end, because we found ourselves standing completely ignored in reception for a full 10 minutes while staff variously filled out forms, folded towels and dealt with other apparently much more important things than helping customers. We walked out.

The first thing to hit you when you walk into Les Thermes is the overiding smell of sulpher!! it almost stings your nose! but i guess that is what you would expect from a thermal spa... it was nice to be outside in a lit up hydra pool looking up at the stars, very romantic! but i feel that a lot of the benefits are a bit over the top! there is a room witch you lie in and watch a badly made movie of a jelly fish on the ceiling, i didnt really see the point?!
