Owner description: This mosaic of different destinations offers a multitude of different ambiances and atmospheres that also reflect the changing architectural styles of winter sports resorts since 1961. Most of La Plagne’s villages were designed by architect Michel Bezançon.La Plagne is part of the Paradiski area and therefore is one of the large ski resorts and is also a family-friendly resort with adapted package offers.

just returned from a great week of skiing in the paradiski area. We stayed in les coches which is just in the middle. Don’t expect a lot of après ski, however we are there to ski and this is just great in this marvelous area. There are many options for every kind of skier. We liked the les Arcs side a bit more compared to the the la Plagne side, mainly because when we stayed it was colder and there was more wind on the la Plagne side. In the lower areas: les coches/ montchavcin/ vallandry there are many nice runs through the woods.
So if you like a big area with lot of different options and like good skiing this is a very nice area.

Great runs and piste, lots of long blues BUT dont go for the night life, very spread out and difficult to travel between villages with no central hub to rival true apres resorts - good for a quiet one to practice your skiing

I visited La Plagne in January with my partner. We both enjoy snow sports, he skis and I snowboard.
We stayed int he part of La Plagne called Plagne Soleil. We found it quite quiet, but good for a couples break. There was a pub next to the apartment called Monica's which opens late and seem to be the only place to be of an evening in Plagne Villages and Soleil, so gets busy and has a good atmosphere.
There are several very nice restaurants in Villages and Soleil as well as a well stocked and reasonably priced Spa.
Whilst out on the Pistes, dont miss a stop off at La Bergerie, their hot chocolate with chantilly cream is the best way to end a day on the slopes - after all you will have earned it!
The week we were visiting was bitterly cold, some days we only managed a few hours on the slopes - we have all the right kit, it was simply just too cold.
I have to say, I preferred the pistes on the Les Arcs side of the resort, lots of great reds - brilliant for a snowboarder. My boyfriend prefferred the flatter blues in La Plagne.
Overall a great holiday, but probably wont go back - lots of other places to explore.

La Plagne is a purpose built resort so do not expect a "pretty" place. However the skiing is great. Lots of well looked after pistes and when I was there there was very little queuing at lifts. It is also connected to the Les Arc ski area and while this is great, its a long way to go to get over there. The combined areas pass for 6 days this year was approx £220.

A good mix of runs, although not masses for advanced skiers. Great blasting down some of the reds when there were not too many people around in late Jan. Lifts are a bit on the old side and there are quite a few button lifts too.
