“Chalet clarine (apartment 104) of balcons de belle plagne”
Reviewed February 9, 2014 via mobile

We stayed here for one week via ski world, having sole use of the chalet (18 in our group) - All being around 25yrs old. We have stayed in catered chalets for snowboarding weeks before, and while not being fussy, I found the chalet to be over priced for what you receive.

Pros:
ski in/out was fantastic, could be closer, chalet clarine is on the ground floor, out one door and on the piste. Location was also excellent for being 3min walk to gondola and to main bar/shop area of belle plagne, gondola going to plagne bellecote, which has a bus service to plagne centre etc.
Bar/restaurant downstairs was very reasonable and we found the food to be of a good standard.
Constant supply of hot water (which other chalets have struggled with) and jacuzzi baths in the bathrooms were a good touch.
Chalet always warm.
Swimming pool, sauna and hot tub were fantastic, and a well stocked 'gym' room if you have the energy!

Cons:
Chalet 'dated' and grubby due to age. Log burner looked to be falling apart, sofas looked dirty, kitchen didn't seem to have enough utensils for all guests (hosts had to wash up between courses).
Table wasn't really big enough for 18 guests and the chairs were all falling apart, needing constant 'banging' back into place.
Bedding/duvet covers were torn and the duvets were different sizes, one guests seemed a child size, one pillow per guest which were very lumpy and small, led to most having bad nights sleep and sore necks.
Most bathrooms did not have shower curtains, making showers impossible for some guests due to the floors becoming like swimming pools.
Doors do not have individual locks.

All these issues could be fixed if ski world could pay attention to customers comments, as the chalet has huge potential due to size and location.
If you want a quieter night request for rooms 6 or 7, situated away from social areas.

3rd time staying here and always come back cos its so wonderful. The last two times we've brought children and the apartments are well suited. Plenty of floor space for crawlers, playing, etc. We will likely come here again when returning to this resort. Pool area is lovely. Whole experience is worth the money.

This apartment is nice situated, to the south. It is only twenty steps from the nearest slope in this greatest ski region of the Alps, Paradiski. It has an own bath with jacuzzi, and the building has a large swimming pool, a work out, a sauna and big jacuzzi. It is close to the village center with several bars, and shops. Very quiet in the night. Good value for price.

This was a chance to get the whole family together, in one place, for Christmas. As it was a Catered Chalet, there was to be no planning or cooking of meals for a whole week which left us with nothing else to do except enjoy the holiday . Our host, Spencer, was exceptional, he cooked all our meals and made us packed lunches. The chalet had 6 Bedrooms each with en suite bathrooms. All but one room had access to a balcony which gave us views down the pistes to Plagne Bellecote. The swimming pool was part of the complex and very welcome after a few hours skiing..We also had all our drinks inclusive in the holiday price which was booked in February 2013.
The chalet was big enough for us all to get on without getting in each other's way. We spent the evenings enjoying meals sat around the dining table with no fear of the children causing any problems once they were in bed.
There was plenty of snow on the north facing slopes and up on the glacier and Roche de Mio. The crowning part of the holiday was the snow which arrived on cue on Christmas Eve and snowed all day on Christmas Day. We would recommend this chalet for any family up to 12 in number. The only draw back was the lack of space in the ski locker room. We had 2 lockers for our chalet which when full of skis and poles left no room for ski boots which meant we had to keep them in the chalet. The ski in / out facility was a real bonus, as to reach any of the lifts, all that was ended was to exit the locker room door straight on to the piste and ski down to Bellecote .
All in all a perfect holiday at a perfect time of the year, a Christmas which we as a family will never forget. The trouble is they all want to do it again????

This was my second visit to this hotel and on this occasion we were a family party of 16 to celebrate my 80th birthday. The hotel has a traditional French chalet feel and the rooms are well appointed. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the new chef produced excellent meals and provided alternatives for our younger children. It was a memorable holiday celebration over the New Year and we couldn't fault the facilities or the staff. The hotel is situated beside the piste and really is a ski out and ski back hotel with good secure drying facilities for skis and boots. They now have free WiFi in the bedrooms.

Room Tip: We had four adjoining rooms for parents & 2 children. One family room parents & 1 child. And...

Currently on holiday here for Christmas week with Skiworld. chalet is lovely and so is Nicola the host. Food amazing, skiing from boot room door and back in, no carrying of skis.
Jacuzzi baths are a life saver. Spa lovely, 10 euro deposit for a towel which you get back at end of week, 1 euro locker.
Piste bashers doing a good job, skiing lovely in morning, little bit more tricky in the afternoon.
Anyone coming here this season, should have a great time.
Must mention Jack, who helps Nicola, lovely lad and Matt skiworld rep who meets you from the airport, very helpful.
