Spent a week at Chillchalet over New Year 2010.
The chalet was great: welcoming, helpful and knowledgable staff; comfortable, clean rooms; great food, etc. Great value, especially with the free snowboard hire thrown in.
If you have transport, and want to explore the local resorts it's a great place to stay. However, it's not best placed for exploring Les Arcs / La Plagne. Getting to Arc 1600 takes about 20-30 min via the funicular from the chalet - not too bad - but getting in and out of Arc 1600 to the other areas is a bit of a drag, especially if the conditions are poor. There's one lift out of 1600 and from there it's a bit of a hike to get to La Plagne via Monchavin / Les Coches.
In summary, if you want a relaxed, informal place to stay, where you'll meet some interesting people, go to Chillchalet. But be prepared to be some distance from the slopes. The Chillchalet at Montchavin might be worth a look....
