“Ok, water was cold and it was a little small”
Review of Aquariaz

We came to Aquariaz for a couple of hours as part of our "rest" day. We skied over from Linadrets area down to the pool which is located in the middle part of Avoriaz half way down the Boulevard from the top of the TS Plateau lift. You could ski straight to the door.

It is a tropical looking pool, with a lazy river with and a half pipe type slide that you can ride on with inflatable doughnut rings. It is not particularly big so I wouldn't expect to spend more than 2-3 hours here. The water was a bit on the cool side, spent half the time coming in and out of the crowded outdoor jacuzzi because that was the only place one could get warm. We were really disappointed there was no sauna, that could have made up for the cool pool water. Showers were rather variable and confusing, it seemed with half of them them there was no hot water (either that or I couldn't figure out how to work them). Would recommend getting here early as by about 3- 3.30 ish it was pretty busy (that might be because the price goes up from €8 pp to €10 pp at 4pm). Did however love the whole body dryers which could fit 3 people at a cost of €1 for 3.5 mins!

Bring your own towels, they do however sell swimming gear (not sure about towels though). We were able to leave our skis in the lobby, however there is no specific secure place for them.

I was glad we went but also a little disappointed, also happy that we didn't plan to spend a whole day.

We went here in the summer. There were lots of people waiting before opening time and it was a bit of a bundle when the doors opened. Changing rooms a good size and lockers available. The inside is&t really that big so it filled up quite quickly. The lazy river was fun but you could easily bump into people. There were jacuzzi style stop offs on the way round. Some fun water activities. Lots of water fun for smaller children and one rather large ride which was quite stomach churning! I'm glad we've been for the experience but I probably won't rush back when there are beautiful natural lakes around.

thought this place was great! during ski season it doesnt open until 14:00 in the afternoon and if its a poor day for skiing the place is jam packed by 15:00 so its really best to get there earlier rather than later. the current driven lazy river is great to do a little circuit swim (much more interesting than just bashing out laps in a normal pool!) there are tress and plants around the pool which gives a lovely ambience and they play music. A lot of complaints re cold water - really it isnt that cold at all. I think if it was any warmer youd start feeling like you were swimming in a soup full of people which would be really unpleasant!! As a pregnant person unable to ski i spent several days swimming here and really enjoyed it - would recommend.

Ripoff. After a day in the snow, you do not want to go to a pool to be cold... At aquariaz the main pool water should be at the temperature of the outside jacuzzi (at least).

Visited Aquariaz whilst staying in Avoriaz with our son, daughter-in-law and 3 year old Grandson. He (Grandson) had seen Aquariaz video on web and continually asked when we would go. Finally took him one afternoon and he (and us) thoroughly enjoyed it. Was aware of previous comments about the temperature but none of us found the pool to be cold - we spent significant amounts of time out of the water in the children's play area without feeling at all cold. (The display indicated the temperature of the water to be around 30 degrees.)

The pool was very quiet when we went, I estimate only around 60 - 70 people swimming which meant no queues or waiting to use the various elements. Just 2 points to note: you have to be at least 6 years old to have a go on the half-pipe tube ride (which is excellent) and the circular slide in the children's area is quite dark inside.

All-in-all an excellent facility and well worth the €8 per person entrance fee (note you pay more if you arrive after 16:00)
