Owner description: Unique in Europe: The 7th Continent is an aquarium with top open tanks where the natural sunlight reflected by the colored schools of fish, constantly reveals to you a special underwater show. In this place, rare species recover the same behaviour they used to have in their natural environment.Dive into the depths of the silent world faithfully recreated.

“An oasis of calm”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013

For a calming break on a hot day, or a pleasant couple of hours of a wet one, this acquarium offers lots of excellent tanks in a supremely chilled, unhurried exhibition. A joy to visit with a young family, the tranquility was what impressed most. Some of the other aquria in the region are more like theme parks, with bustling crowds where here you can enjoy ample parking, pleasant staff, a very enjoyable, relaxed visit, with lots of space. We've been to visit each of the last three years in the area, and no doubt will return again this summer!

“Very Good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2013

We visited here in June 2013 with my son who is 2, when on holiday in the Vendee.

We very much enjoyed the visit, with the many HUGE tanks of fish! The variety was very good, and the settings were very natural. The actual building has quite a clinical feel to it as everything is behind glass (some Aquariums have more hands on displays as well) however because the tanks were so good this didn't have an effect on the visit.

Pricing was reasonable. There are slides and the like for kids dotted around, which kept our 2 year old interested if he got bored of the fish!

“Shark tactic”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2013

Can't believe people are whinging about this experience. Some amazing tanks. The sharks were totally fantastic and I have the video to prove it. Went with family age range 9-18. Wonderful experience. Sometimes you have to expect nothing and be amazed by natures greatness. Will be going again this July.

“Small and overpriced”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2012 via mobile

Some nice aquarium tanks but all of them are quite empty and lack the range of fish that you'd expect. A family of 4 paid £31 and it kept us busy for about one hour, although our four year old got very bored very quickly.

The shark tank was tiny and seemed too small for such large fish.

Very expensive gift shop.

“Disappointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2012

A good feature of this attraction was the absence of crowds and the relatively natural settings for the aquariums. Still, there weren't many tanks and not much variation between tanks. The place felt either that it was about to close down or that it was half-open. Either way it doesn't compare to many other aquariums we've visited as a family and we felt we'd wasted a morning. Spacious, though limited gift shop, a small snack shop outside the facility and a free bouncy castle.

If you have a choice, I'd recommend the aquarium further up the coast in Noirmoutier en l'Ile.
