Used Ibis budget for 2 x one night stops en-route to SW France and our son made the return journey and stayed again. Very friendly welcome at Reception. Room, shower-room and toilet all very clean, bed was comfortable, linen clean. TV in room. Drinks and snack bar machine in reception area. Breakfast buffet was very good. This hotel is also close to a McDonalds and a Buffalo Grill if you need an evening meal close by. Good secure car park. Less than 40 minutes from Calais and close to main routes for travelling south. Excellent value.

Room Tip: Our room was on the back so nice and quiet. The hotel is located on a main road.

Stayed in several Ibis hotels over the years, you get what you pay for but this one was clean and well maintained, even the shower worked well! It was on a busy road but sound insulation was good although the air con was more of a fan circulating warm air, so a bit hot at night. Bed was also fairly uncomfortable, woke with a stiff back in morning. 10 min walk to town center so good location and overall good value. Black cat was guarding my car in the morning and very pleased to make my acquaintance!

Same as before, except that I stayed on a Sunday. The cunning Ibis chain charge you an extra 10€ for staying on a Saturday and Sunday. So the main reason for staying here is its value for money, it therefore loses out at the weekend.

After an absence when we stayed in December, the "Black Guard" of the car park is back, and as welcoming as his aloof manner will allow.
As I have said in the past, this centrally placed hotel offers excellent value for money, with easy access back on to the main road to/from the coast as/if required.
At this time of year, the town centre eateries are within easy walking distance via the ornate park gardens. (If the weather is foul, it is just a quick dash to whet the appetite).
As we have come to expect from this hotel and indeed from the chain, we had a good night's sleep in a clean room followed by a varied breakfast, (French version).
Returning when we next visit the mainland in the autumn.

I guess the rooms could be compared to what a Swedish prisoner might get to live in. However, for a stop-over it's pretty unbeatable. The rooms are clean, cheap, the staff agreeable and there's free secure parking. The breakfast worked: fresh croissants, adequate coffee, etc.
It's 15 minutes walking to the town centre so you can stretch you legs and get a good choice of bars and restaurants.
