“Unique”

We wanted to eat somewhere special to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This restaurant certainly fitted the bill. Situated underneath an old building in one of the main squares, in a cellar, the style and ambience were excellent. Quite an extensive menu and wine list was complemented with quality food and excellent service. Don't expect fast food - be patient, and soak up the atmosphere.

“Great service and atmosphere”

Good simple home cooked Flemish food in a great setting... underwear hanging from the ceilings etc. Great for families as lots of games about to entertain. Staff friendly and always smiling. Definatly reccommend

“Charming traditional food in the main square”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2014

You couldn't get a better location in St Omer and this charming traditional restaurant sets out to be a little different. Old style interior and menus that look like children's school exercise books set the scene. The waiters have a sense of humour and dress old-style as well. The food is excellent and different - you must try the flaming 'potence' - if nothing else it guarantees attention of the other guests. Pate, two 'potence' specials and two glasses of wine totaled 46 euro - a very reasonable special night out!

“Lovely meal. Great host”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2013

Had a lovely meal here with friends on a recent visit to St Omer. Dropped in by chance & was lucky enough to get a table for the 7 of us upstairs. The owner was a really nice bloke, who had a great sense of humour. I went for the mussels in cheese sauce as a starter followed by the beef in ale stew. Couldn't fault either dish. This restaurant has loads of character & I would definitely recommend it if you are visiting St Omer.

“Well worth it meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2013 via mobile

From the time we entered we felt thoroughly comfortable. The owner was helpful and could not do enough for us. Food was excellent with plenty of choice. We laughed and the owner laughed with us. A truly enjoyable evening
